For ten years the stargazer dreamed of taking a picture like this. The dreamer knew that the White Desert National Park in Egypt's Western Desert is a picturesque place hosting numerous chalk formations sculpted into surreal structures by a sandy wind. The dreamer knew that the sky above could be impressively dark on a clear moonless night, showing highlights such as the central band of our Milky Way Galaxy in impressive color and detail. So the dreamer invited an even more experienced astrophotographer to spend three weeks together in the desert and plan the composite images that needed to be taken and processed to create the dream image. Over three days in mid-March, the base images were taken, all with the same camera and from the same location. The impressive result is featured here, with the dreamer proudly wearing a traditional Bedouin galabyia pictured in the foreground.

In January House Oversight Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) announced an investigation into Hunter Biden’s art-selling scheme.

Rep. Comer sent a letter to Hunter Biden’s art dealer, Georges Berges, seeking information on anonymous purchasers of Hunter Biden’s garbage artwork.

“The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating President Joe Biden and his family’s foreign and domestic influence peddling schemes,” wrote Chairman Comer. “For over a decade, the Biden family has profited from Joe Biden’s positions as a public official. Your arrangement with Hunter Biden raises serious ethics concerns and calls into question whether the Biden family is again selling access and influence. A stunning jewellery set made for Princess Diana and reputed to have been a gift by Dodi Al-Fayed is going up for sale next month.

The diamond and pearl necklace was famously worn by Diana at the gala evening for Swan Lake at the Royal Albert Hall in June 1997 - her last official engagement before her death.

The necklace, which was made from 178 diamonds totalling 51 carats and five matching 12mm South Sea pearls, was returned to Crown jewellers Gerrard so they could make a matching pair of earrings for her.

But before the complete set could be given to Diana, she and her lover Dodi Al-Fayed were killed in a car crash in Paris in August 1997.

The jewels will now be auctioned off in New York next month, and are expected to reach a sale price of £4m to £11m ($5-$15m.)

The magnificent gems - known as the Swan Lake Suite - have belonged to a prominent Ukrainian family since 2008.

But the owners' ability to maintain their business in the war-torn country has led to them to put them up for auction.

When she was part of the Royal family the jewellery Diana wore was mostly loaned to her by the Crown.

So the Swan Lake Suite is thought to be the only fine jewellery owned by Diana ever to be sold publicly.

It will be auctioned off next month in New York after first being displayed in London.

Experts at Guernsey's Auctioneers of New York have given the jewels a pre-sale estimate of anywhere between £4m to £11m ($5-$15m.) It is likely the unique gems will be sold to a high net-worth individual.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale will be dedicated to the re-building of Ukraine.

Arlan Ettinger, president of Guernsey's Auctioneers, said: 'While many accomplished figures fade from view, Princess Diana is as vibrant today as when she was indeed the most admired woman on the planet.

'The jewellery Princess Diana wore when she was part of the Royal family was loaned to her by the Crown.

'The Swan Lake Suite was especially made for her. She was part of the design process.

'It is thought to be her only jewellery to have ever been sold, making it extraordinarily important.

'There are many people who have described it as priceless but we have given it a very broad estimate.

'Extraordinary items like these and works of art have expediently increased in recent times.

'The suite was reputed to have been a gift to her from Dodi Al-Fayed who was in her life at the time.

'The necklace was given to her to wear at the Royal Albert Hall for the gala opening of the UK's ballet season.

'After the evening the jeweller requested the necklace back in order to create the earrings to match. They needed the necklace in hand so the stones in the earrings would match perfectly with the stones in the necklace.

'She returned the necklace to Gerrard and over the next two months they made the earrings. But before they could give them to Diana was she tragically killed.'

Nothing happened to the jewellery for months when Diana's family gave permission for the necklace and earrings to be sold, with some of the proceeds going to UNICEF.

There is a letter of authenticity from Diana's butler, Paul Burrell. Dated April 1998, he explained how he approached Diana's older sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, who consented for Gerrard to sell the set.

It was purchased in 1999 by American businessman, Jim McIngvale, for just under a million dollars.

He sold it on during the financial downturn of 2008 when it was acquired by the current owners, who are big fans of the British royal family.

Mt Ettinger added: 'The war in Ukraine has been a motivating factor in them deciding to sell the Swan Lake Suite now.

'They have had them for 14 years but given what is going on over, their thoughts are now very much on rebuilding their country.

'The suite is here in our office.'

The Swan Lake Suite will be sold on June 27.

WASHINGTON—Today, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability issued a memorandum revealing new evidence resulting from the investigation into the Biden family’s influence peddling and business schemes. Subpoenaed financial records show that from 2015 to 2017, Biden family members – Hunter Biden, James Biden, Hallie Biden, and an unknown “Biden” – and their companies collectively received $1.3 million in payments from accounts related to Rob Walker, a Biden family associate. Notably, on March 1, 2017, less than two months after Vice President Joe Biden left public office, State Energy HK Limited, a Chinese company, wired $3 million to Rob Walker’s company. The next day, the company wired $1,065,000 to a company associated with James Gilliar, another Biden family associate. Afterwards, the Biden family received approximately $1,065,000 in payments over a three-month period in different bank accounts. From the bank records, it appears that the Biden family received approximately one-third of the money obtained from the China wire.

Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) issued the following statement on this new evidence of the Biden family’s suspicious business transactions:

“Democrats described our subpoena as providing nothing more than records for Papa John’s and Starbucks, but they failed to mention the records we’ve received documenting the Biden family’s business schemes. Over the course of several years, members of the Biden family and their companies received over $1.3 million in payments from accounts related to their associate, Rob Walker. Most of this money came as a result of a wire from a Chinese energy company and went not only to Hunter and James Biden, but also to Hallie Biden and an unknown ‘Biden.’ It is unclear what services were provided to obtain this exorbitant amount of money.

“The Oversight Committee is concerned about the national security implications resulting from President Biden’s family receiving millions of dollars from foreign nationals. We will continue to follow the money trail and facts to determine if President Biden is compromised by his family’s business schemes and if there is a national security threat.”

House Oversight Chairman James Comer on Wednesday held a press conference on the Biden Crime Family.

House Republicans announced they now have reviewed 170 suspicious activity reports linked to the Biden Crime Family.

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan highlighted the suspicious activity reports and the millions of dollars that flowed to the Bidens.

“The fundamental question is: what did [Biden’s family] do to warrant the receipt of millions and millions of dollars?” Jim Jordan said.

He made his comment while describing the work of his agency in prosecuting the alleged crimes of the “Kiev regime” during the International Youth Legal Forum in St. Petersburg on Wednesday.

On January 17, 1960, outgoing President and former Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower gave one of the most consequential speeches in American history. Eisenhower for eight years had been a popular president, whose appeal drew upon a reputation as a person of great personal fortitude, who’d guided the United States to victory in an existential fight for survival in World War II. Nonetheless, as he prepared to vacate the Oval Office for handsome young John F. Kennedy, he warned the country it was now at the mercy of a power eve he could not overcome.

Until World War II, America had no permanent arms manufacturing industry. Now it did, and this new sector, Eisenhower said, was building up around itself a cultural, financial, and political support system accruing enormous power. This “conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience,” he said, adding:

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes… Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.

This was the direst of warnings, but the address has tended in the popular press to be ignored. After sixty-plus years, most of America – including most of the American left, which traditionally focused the most on this issue – has lost its fear that our arms industry might conquer democracy from within.

Now, however, we’ve unfortunately found cause to reconsider Eisenhower’s warning.

While the civilian population only in recent years began haggling over “de-platforming” incidents involving figures like Alex Jones and Milo Yiannopoulos, government agencies had already long been advancing a new theory of international conflict, in which the informational landscape is more importantly understood as a battlefield than a forum for exchanging ideas. In this view, “spammy” ads, “junk” news, and the sharing of work from “disinformation agents” like Jones aren’t inevitable features of a free Internet, but sorties in a new form of conflict called “hybrid warfare.”

In 1996, just the Internet was becoming part of daily life in America, the U.S. Army published “Field Manual 100-6,” which spoke of “an expanding information domain termed the Global Information Environment” that contains “information processes and systems that are beyond the direct influence of the military.” Military commanders needed to understand that “information dominance” in the “GIE” would henceforth be a crucial element for “operating effectively.”

The reports also confirm that the U.S. national intelligence apparatus aided and abetted the Bidens in covering up their links to Chinese Communist-linked entities that were paying massive amounts in exchange for political favors, as well as attempting to delegitimize the release of Hunter Biden’s laptop and its contents.

The first memo, from Rep. James Comer, concludes:

The memo also confirms that after he assumed the vice presidency in 2009, Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden and his business associates formed at least 15 companies, which processed transfers ranging from approximately $5,000 to at least $3 million. It also confirms the $80,000 diamond gift to Hunter Biden from Chinese Communist Ye Jianming in 2017, as well as providing examples of how the Biden foreign money was moved around:

A second report out from Congress’s Weaponization committee examines how a letter signed by 51 intelligences operatives aided the Biden campaign in its cover-up of the Hunter Biden laptop that led to the revelations above, and more.

The report confirms a number of bombshell revelations including a major admission from former acting CIA director Michael Morell, who admitted in testimony to drafting the statement from 51 former intelligence officials with a view to “help[ing] Vice President Biden in the debate.”

Morell and his colleague Marc Polymeropoulos even went so far as to exchange text messages boasting about their efforts duping the American public into believe the hard drive was “Russian disinformation” and suggested there may be jobs, or money involved as a reward.

That admission came against the backdrop of America’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) itself “fast tracking” the letter, and even reportedly approaching former intelligence officials with a view to having them sign onto the letter too, which they did. In effect, the CIA aided a foreign-linked presidential campaign (that of the Bidens) against the sitting Commander-in-Chief, President Trump.

Asked about his role in the letter, Morell confirmed to Congress: “[T]here were two intentions here, right? One was to make clear to the American people that the Russians were interfering in the election, and the other was to help Vice President Biden in the debate.”

Asked why he and his fellow signatories to the now-infamous letter wanted to help Joe Biden, Morrel responded: “Because I wanted him to win the election.”

Despite multiple requests for the release of Nashville Christian school shooter Audrey Hale’s manifesto and writings surrounding her March 27 attack that left three 9-year-olds and three adults dead, the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation denied a request from The Epoch Times for those documents.

The reason the FBI cited in a letter to an Epoch Times reporter based in Tennessee is that U.S. Code exempts from disclosure “records or information compiled for law enforcement records or information… could reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings…”

Those “enforcement proceedings” were not cited in the letter. It is unclear what the enforcement proceedings could be in reference to, as the main suspect, Audrey Elizabeth Hale, died at the scene of the attack.

The FBI’s letter further stated “the records responsive to your request are law enforcement records; there is a pending or prospective law enforcement proceeding relevant to these responsive records, and release of the information could reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings.”

The request was then “administratively closed,” the FBI noted in the letter.

Additional Request Denied

An additional request by The Epoch Times for those documents to be processed on an expedited schedule was also denied by “DOJ standards for expedited processing.”

For expedited processing to be granted, the letter stated a request must meet one of four situations.

Those situations include “circumstances in which the lack of expedited treatment could reasonably be expected to pose an imminent threat to the life or physical safety of an individual.”

Another situation listed states “an urgency to inform the public about an actual or alleged federal government activity, if made by a person primarily engaged in disseminating information.”

The third situation listed mentioned the loss of any substantial “due process of rights.”

Imagine working aboard a research station on the ocean floor, watching sea creatures swim past, then venturing out to explore the ocean’s surface. Or being able to examine the impact of climate change on coral reefs from the windows of your undersea research station.

Such facilities have so far been limited, but the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and developers of a proposed new “first of its kind” research laboratory hope to expand the opportunities and help humans learn more about the ocean.

Proteus Ocean Group – co-founded by Fabien Cousteau, grandson of the late ocean exploration pioneer Jacques Cousteau – is developing an “underwater space station of the ocean.” The group plans to build the station nearly 60 feet deep off the coast of Curaçao in the Caribbean by 2026.

NOAA and the ocean group announced this month they will partner to identify research opportunities as plans to build the station move forward, sharing information and scientific expertise.

The research facility would give scientists and the public a rare window on life under the ocean, the partners said. Much like the International Space Station and earlier versions of marine laboratories, aquanauts will live aboard the station as they conduct research and exploration beneath the sea.

“On PROTEUS we will have unbridled access to the ocean 24/7, making possible long-term studies with continuous human observation and experimentation,” Cousteau stated in a news release. “With NOAA’s collaboration, the discoveries we can make — in relation to climate refugia, super corals, life-saving drugs, micro environmental data tied to climate events and many others — will be truly groundbreaking.”

What’s the plan for the Proteus underwater research station?

Plans have been in the works for several years, but the pandemic and other world events have been a challenge, Marrocchino said. The team includes a group of scientists, oceanographers and entrepreneurs.

“We have a general concept, now we really get into the nitty gritty front end design,” which should last about nine months, she said.

Proteus shared video of Cousteau and others diving over the site where they plan to erect Proteus off Curaçao, an island country in the southern Caribbean, 40-50 miles north of Venezuela, that is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Marrocchino said one of the largest submersible fleets in the ocean docks on the island.

Here’s what they know so far:

The station will include an observatory and laboratory.

Aquanauts will live aboard and work under the ocean.

Eight people could live in the station, with potentially up to 12.

It would allow private citizens to live underwater for periods of time.

It will include a video production facility that could live-stream.

Additional modules could be added later

The company plans to eventually develop two or three other networked stations

Have there been other underwater research laboratories?

Yes. The first were a series of three built in the 1960s under the direction of Cousteau’s grandfather. The Continental Shelf program ran for several years and allowed aquanauts to live under the water off France and in the Red Sea.

In 1975, the U.S. Germany, Poland and the Soviet Union collaborated on a three-month mission for a portable laboratory dubbed Helgoland, launched off the northeastern coast on Stellwagen Bank. Four-person dive teams spent week-long rotations. The mission experienced a number of challenges including a hurricane and unexpected movement of the station in strong currents. A German diver died as the result of an accident during a decompression stop.

Aquarius:

NOAA's Aquarius is 46 feet by 10 feet and includes a kitchen facility and work areas and supports six crew members.

It was initially deployed in St. Croix’s Salt River Canyon in 1988, then moved to the Keys in 1993.

The 85-ton habitat sits on a 120-ton base plate on the seafloor.

It has housed more than 471 crew members.

Its annual operating costs are about $1.1 million.

The average mission length is 7-10 days.

Hydrolab:

Hydrolab was NOAA’s first undersea research habitat.

Aquanauts could live on the ocean floor for days or weeks at a time.

It housed more than 700 scientists on more than 85 missions.

It operated between 1970 and 1985 and is now on display at NOAA’s Science Center in Silver Spring, Maryland

In a space just 8 by 16 feet, the Hydrolab housed three bunks, a laboratory and a moon pool to get out onto the ocean floor.

Leaving the lab required 16 hours in a hyperbaric chamber.

Hydrolab operated in the Bahamas, St. Croix and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

There are often times when you gaze up at the Moon, wishing you could just take a closer look at its mysterious lunar surface.

Now thoses dreams are finally a reality, as a mesmerising interactive picture of 'The Gigamoon' has been stitched together from 280,000 separate photos.

Photographer Andrew McCarthy pulled together the pin-sharp shot of the Moon, illuminating well-known landmarks such as the Apollo landing sites.

The epic result was achieved after dozens of unsuccessful attempts, with users now able to get up close with recognisable craters such as Copernicus, Tycho, Plato, Eratosthenes and Clavius.

'The quality is fairly consistent across the surface which is really hard to do with these major projects, so it's quite serendipitous that the sky cooperated with me to create this image,' Mr McCarthy said.

'You can zoom into any crater on this part of the moon larger than a half mile wide.

'I have been planning this for years. I have attempted it dozens of times. Sadly, usually good conditions don't hold long enough to get consistent detail across the surface, so my hard drives are filled with unfinished gigamoon projects.'

Copernicus is one of the most prominent craters on the nearside of the Moon, formed around 800 million years ago.

Debris from this site was sampled by Apollo 12 astronauts during their mission almost 54 years ago.

Both the Tycho and Clavius craters are illuminated in the shot too, located in the rugged southern highlands of the lunar surface.

Mr McCarthy even managed to capture a rare snap of Plato - a crater rarely seen from Earth due to its position in the far north.

He continued: 'This was shot entirely from my backyard, I waited until the best conditions came to me.

'The two telescopes used for this project include a 12" Newtonian telescope and an 11" SCT, which were both integral to creating the final image.'

Mr McCarthy spent around two hours switching between the telescopes to capture photos of the moon from his backyard in Arizona.

He then pulled the images into one 1.3 gigapixel final result, which he named the 'The Gigamoon', offering the clearest view of the Moon he has ever seen.

He continued: 'The moon was in the Waxing Gibbous phase at the time, which I find ideal as it means the moon is high in the sky at dusk and in an optimal shooting position so there's no need to deprive yourself of sleep to get a good shot.

'There's also a really nice relief to the image, caused by shadows elongated near the lunar terminator, which illustrate the diverse types of terrain on the moon.'

The photograph has emerged just days after a rare lunar eclipse, which peaked at 6.22pm BST on May 6.

This cast Earth's outer shadow - known as its penumbra - on the Moon, causing a subtle lighting change.

'I'm absolutely thrilled with the final image,' Mr McCarthy added. 'Zooming into this thing is surreal.'

The Biden administration has brought back a Trump-era immigration rule the day before Title 42 is scheduled to sunset and encourage a wave of illegal immigration into the U.S.

The rule, finalized and published in the Federal Register on Wednesday, disqualifies migrants from applying for asylum in the U.S. if they neglected to first apply for asylum in other countries they traveled through, such as Mexico. Vast announced today that SpaceX will launch what is expected to be the world’s first commercial space station, known as Vast Haven-1, quickly followed by two human spaceflight missions to said space station. Scheduled to launch on a Falcon 9 rocket to low-Earth orbit no earlier than August 2025. Haven-1 will be a fully-functional independent space station and eventually be connected as a module to a larger Vast space station currently in development.

Upon launch of Haven-1, Falcon 9 will launch Vast’s first human spaceflight mission to the commercial space station, Vast-1. Dragon and its four-person crew will dock with Haven-1 for up to 30 days while orbiting Earth. Vast also secured an option for an additional human spaceflight mission to the station aboard a Dragon spacecraft.

The Vast-1 crew selection process is underway and the crew will be announced at a future date. Once finalized, SpaceX will provide crew training on Falcon 9 and the Dragon spacecraft, emergency preparedness, spacesuit and spacecraft ingress and egress exercises, as well as partial and full mission simulations including docking and undocking for return to Earth.

Vast’s long-term goal is to develop a 100-meter-long multi-module spinning artificial gravity space station launched by SpaceX’s Starship transportation system. In support of this, Vast will explore conducting the world’s first spinning artificial gravity experiment on a commercial space station with Haven-1.

This new partnership between Vast and SpaceX will continue to create and accelerate greater accessibility to space and more opportunities for exploration on the road to making humanity multiplanetary.

Three people are missing after a military jet crashed into the sea off the coast of a small California island.

The Coast Guard, US Navy and Customs and Border Protection have launched a search and rescue mission after the disaster at around 8am.

A Phoenix Learjet with three people on board took off from the base of San Clemente Island, just off the coast of San Diego.

Watchstanders at the Joint Harbor Operations Center reported the emergency, and claimed that the plane did not manage to make it back to the runway.

The Learjet is a type of military training aircraft, according to Phoenix Air's website, and the island is the Navy's only remaining live fire range

Authorities have launched a search and rescue effort, with crews discovering aircraft debris a mile southwest of the island.

A second Learjet was already in the air and began searching the debris field, with a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from the Coast Guard joining the search.

A US Coast Guard spokesman said: 'Coast Guard, U.S. Navy and U.S. Customs and Border Protection assets are searching for three people after a report of a downed aircraft approximately one-mile southwest of San Clemente Island, Wednesday morning.

'Watchstanders at the Joint Harbor Operations Center in San Diego received the initial report of a downed aircraft at 7:53 am from the Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility on San Clemente Island, reporting an aircraft emergency aboard a Phoenix Learjet with three people on board.

'The FACSFAC reported that the aircraft didn't make it back to the runway. A U.S. Navy Phoenix Learjet was in the area and began immediately searching the debris field.

'A Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations Multi-Role Enforcement Aircraft and USS SAN DIEGO diverted after hearing the emergency broadcast and began searching the area as well.

'An MH-60 Jayhawk aircrew from Coast Guard Sector San Diego was launched and immediately vectored toward the debris field. Search efforts are ongoing.'

Fox News is promoting a Trump operation smear against Hunter Biden over Romania.

It was debunked a year ago.

Trump’s own lawyer Rudy Giuliani also worked for the same client in Romania, after Hunter Biden had left. Giuliani then publicly opposed the country’s anti-corruption crackdowns — and now he’s hyping this story.

Fox News has become a conduit for another rollout of the White House and Trump campaign’s smear operations against Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, this time centered around his son Hunter Biden’s legal work for a client in Romania.

The problem, though: President Donald Trump’s own lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who has been the chief peddler of the smear operation against Joe Biden, also worked for the same Romanian client — and just two years ago was publicly opposing anti-corruption efforts in that country, against official U.S. policy previously espoused by Joe Biden himself.

During Trump’s interview Tuesday morning on Fox & Friends, co-host Brian Kilmeade began coaching Trump that the “national security” category at Thursday’s scheduled debate “would be your option” to discuss Hunter Biden’s business activities.

Kilmeade even later added the smear as a possible point to make in the debate, suggesting, “I hear Romania's coming up, too.”

“Romania’s coming up,” Trump agreed.

SpaceX Ax-2 private astronaut mission will grow 1st stem cells in space

Scientists will send stem cells to space in early May to investigate the effect of weak gravity or "microgravity" in space on stem cells.

The induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), a type of stem cell that can develop into the three primary groups of cells that make up a human body, will be cultivated in space by astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS) by astronauts flying on Axiom Space's private Ax-2 mission. The mission is scheduled to launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket no earlier than 5:37 p.m. EDT (2137 GMT) on May 21 from Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Growing these cells and allowing them to differentiate in space should allow researchers to determine if microgravity has any impact on the way iPSCs develop into other cell types like brain and heart cells.

"A major challenge for using iPSCs for therapies in humans is making enough of them at very high quality," research co-leader and Cedars-Sinai cell biologist Arun Sharma, said in a statement.(opens in new tab) "We want to be able to mass-produce them by the billions so that we can utilize them for a number of different applications, including discovering new drugs that may be able to improve heart function. And while we've gotten better at this over the last few years, there are still certain limitations when it comes to the production of these stem cells, and we think microgravity may be able to overcome some of these."

An iPSC is a powerful type of cell, according to Cedars-Sinai, that has been reprogrammed from an adult cell to return to a state called "pluripotency." While in this state, the cell can be turned into nearly any cell type found in the human body. This makes iPSCs important in creating models of diseases and for creating specifically tailored treatments.

Producing iPSCs on Earth is tricky, however, partially because of the gravitational effects of the planet which can restrict the expansion and growth of these cells. In low-gravity environments, like that of the ISS which orbits Earth at an altitude of around 253 miles (408 miles), this barrier could be removed.

"Gravity constantly pulls these pluripotent stem cells towards Earth, putting pressure on them and providing a stimulus to start turning into other cell types, but in microgravity, that effect will no longer be there," mission co-principle investigator and executive director of the Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors Regenerative Medicine Institute, Clive Svendsen said in the statement. By removing gravity from the equation, researchers will be able test whether or not cells grow faster in space, present fewer genetic mutations and remain in their versatile pluripotent state. "That is the goal of this new mission, and we are all very excited to see what happens up there," Svendsen said.

A Cedars-Sinai team will arrive at Kennedy Space Center a week before launch to prepare the stem cells and load them onto a Dragon spacecraft. The Ax-2 crew will then launch in the Dragon craft atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket no sooner than May 21, if all goes according to plain.

The mission will last just a week but sets the stage for future missions of longer duration over the coming months that will further test the ability of stem cells to divide and take up DNA during spaceflight.

Coca-Cola has selected New York state as its “preferred location” for a new Fairlife production facility costing an estimated $650 million, Gov. Kathy Hochul said in a statement.

The 745,000-square-foot facility in Webster, New York is expected to create up to 250 new jobs. Coca-Cola expects to break ground on the project this fall and have the facility operational by the fourth quarter of 2025. It will be the largest dairy processing plant in the Northeast.

In the ongoing court fight over Arizona’s November election, Kari Lake is raising the stakes.

The legal team for the Republican gubernatorial candidate on Tuesday asked the state Superior Court to review a decision from December that threw out her claims about printing problems that plagued the state’s most populous county on election day.

In an explosive filing that claims to have “new and compelling evidence” to back up a cybersecurity expert’s findings that happened in Maricopa County on Nov. 8 was the result of intentional misconduct that amounted to sabotage of the voting system on behalf of the Democrat who now holds the governor’s office.

The filing related to a Dec. 24 decision by Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson, which dismissed Lake’s argument that misconduct by Maricopa County election officials warranted challenging the razor-close results. (Lake lost to current Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs by only about 17,000 votes out of 2.5 million cast).

Another player might have thrown in her cards at that point — on that front at least — but Lake stayed in the game. And in the filing on Tuesday presented new evidence for the cybersecurity expert’s findings that Maricopa County officials had not only engaged in misconduct on Election Day, but lied about it during reviews of the process.

The filing rests largely on the findings of Clay U. Parikh, the same expert whose testimony failed was discounted in the December court decision. It presents evidence the Lake legal says was not available for the earlier trial, including a review of election center printer issues that was not released until April 10.

And if it holds up, it could well be the smoking gun clue that overturns the Hobbs election.

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York was among a number of prominent leftists who turned on CNN in the middle of its Wednesday town hall event in New Hampshire, which featured former President Donald Trump with a live audience.

Network CEO Chris Licht had hoped to use the event to pivot the network back to its previous spot as a reasonable voice in the establishment media sphere, Business Insider reported.

It became apparent in the opening minutes of the event that the network had hosted Trump in order to corner him.

Trump was grilled by network host Kailtan Collins about everything from the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol incursion to his civil case against E. Jean Carroll — a woman who claimed Trump raped her in the 1990s at a New York City department store:

A jury handed Carroll a partial win but found Trump never raped her.

Collins made the accusation a focal point of the town hall.

The former president was prepared for Collins’ line of questions and defended himself in a manner many who watched it found was more than adequate.

Trump absolutely crushed that town hall. See prior tweet in thread. That was NOT the bar he even needed to meet. He hit a much higher one, despite the predictable gotcha attempts.

The potential goal worth the risk laid out in the prior tweet was met.
