Not against it at all-and all for it as a form of protest however the system knows that people will do that and it will probably have an effect on the LCSs by draining their supply so it's a bit of a catch-22 as it will have no effect on the Spot Price.

If you are going to do that (buy some in size) wait until after that-a week or so-as the system will surely smack it down to send a message and tell everyone who just bought it in participation of that protest by sending a message that they chose "wrong".

If you really want to do it buy one oz (probably will just to make a statement) but nothing in the retail sector has any influence on the spot price

“I will be outside doing what I do,” he wrote in a statement posted to social media. “I’ll be out in the public. If your (sic) scared of me then steer clear, or get vaccinated. Point. Blank. Period. I may die of covid, but I’d rather die actually living.

“I have family members whose days are numbered. If they want to come see me and stay at my house then they are coming regardless of protocol. I don’t play for the money anymore. My family has been taken care of. Fine me if you want. My way of living and my values are more important to me than a dollar. I love my teammates and enjoy playing ball because all the outside bs goes out the window in these moments. I just want to win the Super Bowl and enjoy these relationships that will be created along the way.

“I’m not going to take meds for a leg that isn’t broken. I’d rather take my chances with Covid and build up my immunity that way. Eat better. Drink water. Exercise and do what I think is necessary to be a healthy individual. That is MY CHOICE based on MY experiences and what I think is best. I’ll play for free this year to live life how I’ve lived it from day one. If I’m forced into retirement, so be it.”

The 32-year old veteran also said that he has spoken with the NFL Players Association about his issues with the NFL’s new virus policies.

Beasley said he is not inoculated against Covid-19 and made it clear he did not want to receive the vaccine.

“Now we have spoken and are working through it,” Beasley wrote in a separate reply tweet to a Bills reporter. “From what Ive (sic) been told these are guidelines for preseason and it’s nothing final.”

On Thursday, Beasley aired complaints about the league’s updated Covid-19 protocols for training camp and the preseason, which allow for fully vaccinated players to return mostly to how things were done before the pandemic but keeps stricter guidelines in place for unvaccinated individuals.

Beasley called the NFLPA a “joke” and asked if anyone will “fight for the players”.

The NFL is not requiring players to get vaccinated. However, its new protocols may encourage some to do so due to the lesser restrictions.

Unvaccinated players will still need to be tested daily for Covid-19 and must keep wearing masks while in team facilities. They cannot interact with anyone outside of their team’s traveling party when on the road. And they will still be required to quarantine if deemed a close contact of a high-risk Covid exposure.

For vaccinated players, these guidelines will be removed or loosened.

Other NFL players, including Washington edge rusher Montez Sweat and Carolina quarterback Sam Darnold, have expressed skepticism or uncertainty about whether to receive the vaccine.

The three vaccines authorized in the US have all been deemed safe by the CDC and have high levels of efficacy.

Beasley set career highs with 82 catches and 967 receiving yards in 2020, his second season in Buffalo after playing seven seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.

RIP Jeremiah Green. 🕊 The #ModestMouse drummer died on New Year's Eve, just days after his cancer battle was revealed.

Jeremiah Green is dead at age 45. His band, Modest Mouse, announced his death via social media on Saturday, December 31.

“I don’t know a way to ease into this: Today we lost our dear friend Jeremiah. He laid down to rest and simply faded out,” the band wrote in a statement via Instagram. “I’d like to say a bunch of pretty words right now, but it just isn’t the time. These will come later, and from many people.”

They added, “Please appreciate all the love you give, get, have given, and will get. Above all, Jeremiah was about love. We love you.”

Green was the drummer for Modest Mouse and a founding member, forming the Grammy-nominated band in 1993, along with singer/guitarist Isaac Brock and bassist Eric Judy.

Brock, 47, confirmed the news about Green’s cancer on Wednesday, December 28.

“Some of you may have already heard, but I figured it would be good to hear the news directly from our camp,” the “Float On” singer wrote via Modest Mouse’s official Instagram. “Jeremiah was diagnosed with cancer a short while ago, and he’s currently in treatment. It seems to be going smoothly and making a positive difference. Jeremiah, as am I, are believers in the power of positive energy, so if you would be so kind as to send ‘good vibes’ (to quote Jeremiah) in the direction of Jeremiah and his family, that’d be great.”

Green’s mother, Carol Namatame, confirmed that her son died on New Year’s Eve after she previously asked for prayers on Christmas. “It is with a very heavy heart that the Green and Namatame families announce the passing of their husband, father, son and brother, Jeremiah Green,” she shared via Facebook on Saturday. “Jeremiah, drummer and founding member of the Issaquah based band Modest Mouse, lost his courageous battle with cancer on December 31. He went peacefully in his sleep. Jeremiah was a light to so many. At this time the family is requesting privacy. More information will be forthcoming including a Celebration of Life for friends and fans in the coming months. Jeremiah’s loved ones would like to thank everyone for their continued well wishes and support.”

The tributes started pouring in for the late drummer. Bandmate Simon O’Connell shared a lengthy tribute where he stated Green was the reason he joined the band.

Johnny Marr, a former member of the band, added, “The great Jeremiah Green. My friend, bandmate, and the most creative musician I ever met.”

Skateboarder Tony Hawk commented on Modest Mouse’s post: “Sweetest dude ever. He will be missed dearly.”

Former tour mate and The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney added, “🙏 Rest In Peace Jeremiah ❤️.”

Jeremiah is survived by wife Lauren Green. They shared son Wilder, born in 2016.

Poll: Nearly Half Say It Is ‘Likely’ Coronavirus Vaccines Have Caused ‘Significant Number of Unexplained Deaths’

Nearly half of Americans believe it is at least somewhat likely that coronavirus vaccines have caused a “significant number of unexplained deaths,” and over a quarter said they know someone whose death may have been caused by side effects of the vaccines, a Rasmussen Reports survey released Monday found.

The survey asked respondents, “How likely is it that side effects of COVID-19 vaccines have caused a significant number of unexplained deaths?”

Overall, 49 percent said it is at least “somewhat” likely, but of those, 28 percent said it is “very” likely. Another 20 percent said it is “not very” likely, and 17 percent said “not at all” likely. Fourteen percent remain unsure.

Further, this appears to be a bipartisan issue as most Democrats (51 percent) and Republicans (56 percent) believe it is at least somewhat likely. Independents remain more skeptical, as 42 percent believe it is at least somewhat likely that the side effects of coronavirus vaccines caused unexplained deaths, compared to 38 percent who do not find it likely.

The survey then asked respondents if they “personally know anyone whose death you think may have been caused by side effects of COVID-19 vaccines.”

Over a quarter, 28 percent, said “yes,” and ten percent remain unsure. Sixty-one percent said no.

Figures remain relatively consistent across the board, as 33 percent of Democrats, 26 percent of Republicans, and 26 percent of independents claim to know someone whose death, they believe, occurred as a result of the side effects from the vaccines.

Further, 48 percent said there are “legitimate reasons to be concerned” about the safety of the vaccines, compared to 37 percent who believe those expressing concerns are simply “spreading conspiracy theories.” Fifteen percent remain unsure.

Seventy-one percent of those surveyed identified themselves as vaccinated, but over a quarter, 26 percent, said they are not. That is relatively consistent with November’s The Economist/YouGov survey, which found 23 percent identifying themselves as unvaccinated.

The survey was taken December 28-30, 2022, among 1,000 U.S. adults and has a +/- 3 percent margin of error. Notably, the survey does not rely on scientific evidence that the deaths were related to the vaccine.

It comes as concerns continue to be raised about the safety of the vaccines — particularly the mRNA vaccines. This prompted action from Florida in October, which advised against the mRNA jabs for men under the age of 40. Twitter, prior to Musk’s takeover, temporarily censored Florida’s Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo over the guidance.

Ladapo has continued to highlight some of the risks associated between coronavirus and mRNA vaccines, pointing to another study “consistent with Florida’s analysis,” showing a link between the jab and myocarditis in early December.

Last month, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced his decision to petition the Florida Supreme Court to impanel a statewide grand jury tasked with investigating “any and all wrongdoing in Florida with respect to the COVID-19 vaccines.”

Meanwhile, first lady Jill Biden kicked off the new year by encouraging Americans to “go get that COVID vaccine.”

Twitter Files reveal social media platform rigged the COVID debate, was complicit in deaths that could have been easily prevented

The latest drop from the Twitter Files shows that the world’s most controversial social media platform rigged the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) debate to control the narrative.

It did this, according to journalist David Zweig, by censoring information that was true but inconvenient to U.S. government policy; discrediting doctors and other experts who disagreed with the official government position; and suppressing ordinary users, including those who merely shared data from government agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

While on assignment for The Free Press, Zweig was given access to internal files from Twitter that show both the Biden and Trump administrations “directly pressed Twitter executives to moderate the platform’s pandemic content according to their wishes.”

This same censorship agenda by both administrations was also imposed upon Google, Facebook, Microsoft and other Big Tech platforms, the same internal files show.

“The Trump White House, specifically Michael Kratsios, led the Trump Administration’s calls for help from the tech companies to combat misinformation,” one of the files stated.

“Areas of focus included conspiracies around 5G cell towers, runs on grocery stores, and misinformation that could stoke panic buying and behaviors.” (Related: Twitter only opposed censorship when doing so negatively affected Twitter.)

The Trump administration was especially focused on the issue of panic buying, probably because it did not want such activity to interfere with or damage its reputation while in office.

"Hezbollah is maneuvering to storm northern Israel[occupied Palestine], and is showing the combat status of its fighters," Israeli media said.

"Hezbollah published a video tonight with several kilograms of explosives, documenting a maneuver that simulates the moment its fighters stormed northern Israel [occupied Palestine], destroying military vehicles, tanks, and armored vehicles," Elior Levy, a commentator on Palestinian affairs for Kan and Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, said in a tweet.

A psychological warfare

"The military media of the resistance published in recent hours a video that simulates elements of the Radwan Force, which is their elite unit, infiltrating into Israeli territory and crossing the borders," Roi Kais, a commentator on Arab affairs for the Israeli channel Kan said.

The journalist for the Israeli Channel 12, Sapir Lipkin, analyzed that the publication of the video was linked to several factors, saying that "under the mandate of the Netanyahu government, Hezbollah has published a new psyops warfare film it produced, in which it is trying to show its capabilities to storm the separation wall and act against Israel."

This comes after the military media of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon – Hezbollah published Sunday a video titled "We swear we are capable… and we will cross,” conveying a direct message to the Israeli occupation, as the dawn of a new year breaks.

The video simulates the scenario of the resistance fighters crossing into the occupied Palestinian territories, after making a hole in the concrete wall between Lebanon and occupied Palestine. The video depicts how the Resistance fighters succeeded in infiltrating the occupied territories, where confrontations with Israeli occupation soldiers break out.

The video also depicts scenes of confrontations, whereby the resistance fighters target the occupation soldiers and storm their positions, starting from the northern border of Palestine and ending on Palestinian shores.

The Lebanese Resistance, through its military media, resorts to publishing videos as part of its psychological warfare against the Israeli occupation.

Last July, it published a video that showed the coordinates of gas rigs off the coasts of occupied Palestine in a clear message to "Tel Aviv”.

Virgin Islands files suit against JPMorgan Chase alleging bank illicitly profited from Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking of minors

He may no longer be alive, but the fallout from the sordid, disgusting life lived by entrepreneur Jeffrey Epstein is continuing years after his death from ‘suicide’ in a New York jail cell.

Epstein, you may know, trafficked in underaged girls, both for himself and, “allegedly,” for high-profile clients. Notable people who accompanied Epstein to his “pedo island” in the Caribbean or shared time with him elsewhere included former President Bill Clinton, disgraced British royal Prince Andrew, and ‘famed’ Harvard attorney Alan Dershowitz, according to reports.

But now, the banks that did business with Epstein are being singled out by entities and alleged victims alike for compensation after being accused of profiting off his nefarious and illegal activities without alerting property authorities about suspicious behaviors.

The news site Explain America reports:

Lawyers representing the U.S. Virgin Islands have filed legal action against JPMorgan Chase regarding the bank’s financial dealings with the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, alleging that the Wall Street financial giant benefited from his sex trafficking and then failed to report suspicious activity to the proper authorities.

“Over more than a decade, JPMorgan (JPM) clearly knew it was not complying with federal regulations in regard to Epstein-related accounts as evidenced by its too-little too-late efforts after Epstein was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges and shortly after his death, when JPMorgan (JPM) belatedly complied with federal law,” says the complaint filed by US Virgin Islands Attorney General Denise George, according to CNN.

The US Virgin Islands’ top prosecutor has lost her job days after filing a lawsuit accusing financial giant JP Morgan Chase of turning a “blind eye” to Jeffrey Epstein’s multi-decade sex trafficking operation.

Attorney General Denise George filed a lawsuit in Manhattan last week alleging that the Wall St giant “provided and pulled the levers through which recruiters and victims” of Epstein’s offending were paid in the court filing, according to Bloomberg.

On New Year’s Eve, Virgin Islands Governor Albert Bryan confirmed to several news outlets on the island that Ms George had been removed from her role amid reports he had been blindsided by the lawsuit.

“I relieved Denise George of her duties as attorney general this weekend,” Mr Bryan said in the statement, first published by The Virgin Islands Consortium.

“I thank her for her service to the people of the territory during the past four years as attorney general and wish her the best in her future endeavours.”

The governor’s spokesman and the attorney general’s office did not immediately reply to requests for comment from The Independent.

Assistant Attorney General Carol Thomas-Jacobs has been appointed to serve as acting attorney general, according to reports."

The College of Cardinals is the group of the pope’s closest assistants and advisers, made up of all of the Catholic Church’s cardinals from around the world. On Aug. 27, Pope Francis will create 20 new cardinals, bringing the total number in the college to 229. 

But not all of the 229 cardinals will be eligible to elect a new pope.

Pope St. Paul VI established in 1970 that cardinals aged 80 and over cannot participate in the process of electing a pope — thus, cardinals who are younger than 80 are known as “electors.” Paul VI also established a numerical limit for the number of electors, capping it at 120. 

At his Aug. 27 extraordinary consistory — a meeting of all the world’s cardinals — Pope Francis is expected to create 16 new cardinals who will be electors, bringing the total number of cardinals who are eligible to vote for the next pope in a future conclave to 132. The pope will also create four new cardinals who have already passed 80 years of age. 

Six of the current cardinal electors will turn 80 by the end of 2022; two of them will have turned 80 by the end of September. 

Europeans will account for 53 cardinal electors in the college after the consistory, the most of any region.

Italy will have the most cardinals of any one country — 47 — and the most cardinal electors, with 20. 

Meanwhile, other parts of the world have gained ground, led by the Asia-Pacific region, whose overall representation of voting-age cardinals has risen from 9% in 2013 to 17% in 2022, an analysis from Pew Research Center found. 

Sub-Saharan Africa is on the upswing with electors as well, rising from 9% to 12%. Latin America and the Caribbean have had a more modest gain, rising from 16% to 18%.

By the end of the consistory, 63% of the college will have been appointed by Pope Francis, with the remainder appointed by Pope St. John Paul II and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. John Paul II and Benedict XVI — as well as Pope John Paul I — were all appointed cardinals by Paul VI. Benedict XVI is the only surviving cardinal created by him. 

In 2007 Pope Benedict XVI returned to the long-standing tradition requiring a two-thirds majority to elect a pope; St. John Paul II had allowed for a simple majority for a valid election in the case of extended deadlock.

Abstract

RNA vaccines are efficient preventive measures to combat the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. High levels of neutralizing SARS-CoV-2-antibodies are an important component of vaccine-induced immunity. Shortly after the initial two mRNA vaccine doses, the IgG response mainly consists of the pro-inflammatory subclasses IgG1 and IgG3. Here, we report that several months after the second vaccination, SARS-CoV-2-specific antibodies were increasingly composed of non-inflammatory IgG4, which were further boosted by a third mRNA vaccination and/or SARS-CoV-2 variant breakthrough infections. IgG4 antibodies among all spike-specific IgG antibodies rose on average from 0.04% shortly after the second vaccination to 19.27% late after the third vaccination. This induction of IgG4 antibodies was not observed after homologous or heterologous SARS-CoV-2 vaccination with adenoviral vectors. Single-cell sequencing and flow cytometry revealed substantial frequencies of IgG4-switched B cells within the spike-binding memory B-cell population (median 14.4%; interquartile range (IQR) 6.7–18.1%) compared to the overall memory B-cell repertoire (median 1.3%; IQR 0.9–2.2%) after three immunizations. Importantly, this class switch was associated with a reduced capacity of the spike-specific antibodies to mediate antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis and complement deposition. Since Fc-mediated effector functions are critical for antiviral immunity, these findings may have consequences for the choice and timing of vaccination regimens using mRNA vaccines, including future booster immunizations against SARS-CoV-2.

The executors of the estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have listed for sale the two private Caribbean islands the late financier owned off the east coast of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, an attorney for the estate told ABC News on Wednesday.

The asking price: $125 million, according to two sources.

Epstein purchased the private island, Little St. James, in 1998 for about $8 million and established his permanent residence there in 2010, around the time he was released from his first jail sentence in Palm Beach, Florida. He liked to refer to his estate there as "Little St. Jeff's," according to testimony that emerged last year during the criminal trial of his former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Epstein later acquired ownership of a larger, neighboring island, Great St. James, and he was in the process of building a new estate there at the time of his arrest in 2019, according to court and property records in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Wall St. Journal first reported news of the listing.

The islands are currently encumbered by "criminal activity" liens placed by Denise George, the U.S. Virgin Islands' attorney general, who in early 2020 filed a civil racketeering lawsuit against the estate.

The suit alleges that Epstein created a network of shell companies, charitable organizations and individuals that participated in and conspired with him in a decadeslong pattern of criminal activity tied to alleged sex trafficking of minor girls and young women.

ABC News reported earlier this month thatlawyers for the Epstein estate are in settlement talks with the U.S. Virgin Island government.One estate attorney described the two sides as being "extraordinarily close" to reaching a negotiated resolution.

WHO Calls Out China's Lack of Transparency Over COVID Infections

The World Health Organization (WHO) is leading calls for China to share more pandemic data as the world's most populous country responds to its nationwide COVID-19 outbreak by scaling back the publication of official statistics.

On December 29, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus defended the right of the United States and other nations to impose restrictions on travel from China. Around 10 countries, including many of China's neighbors, now require negative PCR tests from passengers departing Chinese airports.

"In the absence of comprehensive information from China, it is understandable that countries around the world are acting in ways that they believe may protect their populations," he tweeted.

The caution, which Beijing argues is unscientific, is related to a general lack of information about the true extent of China's surge in infections after its government dismantled three years of strict virus controls—lockdowns, mass testing and layers of contact tracing—in the span of a single month.

On January 8, China will officially downgrade COVID from a Class A to a Class B infectious disease, paving the way for an end to all quarantine measures nationwide. That's before most epidemiological models expect the country's first wave to peak, while the government has already stopped releasing accurate infection and fatality numbers.

Experts also question whether Beijing still has the capacity to track the spread of the virus within its borders. Individuals who return positive results on at-home rapid antigen tests aren't required to report their infection to authorities.

On Friday, the WHO convened virtually with Chinese health officials "to seek further information on the situation, and to offer WHO's expertise and further support," according to a statement.

In new polling, Rasmussen asked Americans about their perceptions of COVID-19 vaccine safety. Among respondents, 71% report receiving at least a portion of the vaccine series. It is easy to see how partisanship has impacted COVID shot uptake. While 85% of Democrats report receiving the shots, only 63% of Republicans and 64% of unaffiliated voters report the same. A Colorado lawyer says the Justice Department is trying to conceal hundreds of “potentially responsive” documents about gifts received by first son Hunter Biden and his uncle James Biden from contacts in China, Russia and Ukraine, according to a new report Monday. ​

Kevin Evans sued the Justice Department in March after he said the agency failed to comply with his Freedom of Information Act request for records about the overseas business relationships of Joe Biden’s son and brother, the Daily Mail reported.

Evans said he sought documents “pertaining to any relationship, communication, gift(s), and/or remuneration in any form​” from China, Russia or Ukraine.​

He said lawyers for the federal government admitted in court to having at least 400 pages of “potentially responsive” documents but are now saying they can “neither confirm nor

“Then towards the end of last year they said, ‘Well we have these 400 pages of potentially responsive documents, we need to review them,'” Evans said the lawyers told him, a claim he said the government repeated again in court.

After a few months, Evans said the government came back with the “neither confirm nor deny” response.

Evans said he initially filed an FOIA request in November 2020 after reading about Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings in China and Ukraine, connections The Post broke wide open that October. ​

The Post’s expose on the first son’s business relationships was based on emails and messages found on a laptop Hunter Biden abandoned at a computer repair shop in Wilmington, Del., in April 2019. ​

Evans said he believes the government will do what it takes to keep the information under wraps.

“I’m quite confident that they will move for summary judgment on the privacy exemptions under FOIA in an effort to avoid having to produce these documents,” he told the publication.

“But I don’t think they should in this instance, particularly when they’ve disclosed and put on the record that potentially responsive documents exist.”

Evans said the next status hearing in the case is scheduled for Jan. 9.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has said James Biden is a focus of investigators examining Hunter Biden’s business deals.

Grassley and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) released a report in September 2020 on the Bidens’ business pursuits.

In April, the two senators released new documents delving deeper into the Biden family’s business ties.

The documents revealed that Hunter Biden and Jim Biden received monthly payments of $100,000 and $65,000, respectively, as part of an August 2017 consulting agreement between the first son and Gongwen Dong, a top official at CEFC China Energy.

I don’t know if Hamlin was vaxxed, but Cole Beasley almost retired from the NFL because of mandates. One thing that stood out to me is how he looked out for young players that didn’t have a voice. Young players were afraid if they didn’t get the vax, it could be career ending.

God bless Cole Beasley and Aaron Rodgers for standing up for their teams and many Americans who felt like they didn’t have a voice.

The number of ‘clandestine’ boat migrants crossing the English Channel is up more than 60 per cent in a year, the government reveals, with levels having reached yet another new record high.

A record 45,756 migrants crossed the English Channel on 1,104 small boats in 2022, smashing the previous year’s figure, and dramatically underlining the prolonged failure of the government to get a grip on so-called clandestine border crossings which have now been an ongoing ‘major incident’ for over four years.

The number is an increase of 60.3 per cent over the 28,526 migrants who crossed the English Channel by boat in 2021, itself already a record. As UK broadcaster Sky News notes of the migrant boat trend, while the number of ‘irregular migrants’ that came by boat this past year is considerably higher, the number of boat crossings is nearly identical, with 1,034 boats detected in the English Channel in 2021, demonstrating how ruthless people smugglers are cramming more people onto each potentially deadly crossing.

Although boat crossings to reach the United Kingdom by irregular migrants — what were once called illegal migrants, although this terminology appears to be falling out of favour — are a relatively new phenomenon, attempts to break into the country by foreigners are, of course, not. In recent memory, illegals tended to enter the United Kingdom by stowing away on cross-channel ferry traffic, typically inside freight-carrying trucks, itself a deadly venture.

But changes to that border in the wake of the Coronavirus Pandemic, and possibly Brexit as well, has made stowing away in that way more difficult. Yet the government has proven unwilling or unable to secure the nation’s coast from being forced by criminal gangs taking large fees in return for places on inflatable boats, and so the demand for clandestine border crossings switched to the sea, a technique honed in the Mediterranean sea during the 2015 Europe Migrant Crisis.

Despite boat migrants being declared a “major incident” way back in 2018, a year in which just 299 made the crossing, the British government has not yet made any serious progress on defending the nation’s borders and putting a stop to the deadly trade in human beings. Arrests of people smugglers are relatively infrequent, and functionally speaking migrants who come this way are almost never deported, rubbishing the idea there is any meaningful disincentive for trying.

The Conservative Party continues to talk tough on immigration, promoting an endless series of headline-catching but doomed plans that they claim will get the nation’s borders under control. Yet the party has been in power for over 12 years and despite nearly 14 years of elections and national votes in which the British people have voted for parties and causes speaking the language of border control, migration is now higher than ever.

BEIJING (AP) — Beijing blasted COVID-19 testing requirements imposed on passengers from China and threatened countermeasures against countries involved, which include the U.S. and several European nations.

“We believe that the entry restrictions adopted by some countries targeting China lack scientific basis, and some excessive practices are even more unacceptable,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a daily briefing Tuesday.

“We are firmly opposed to attempts to manipulate the COVID measures for political purposes and will take countermeasures based on the principle of reciprocity,” she said.

Australia and Canada this week joined a growing list of countries requiring travelers from China to take a COVID-19 test prior to boarding their flight, as China battles a nationwide outbreak of the coronavirus after abruptly easing restrictions that were in place for much of the pandemic.

Other countries including the U.S., U.K., India, Japan and several European nations have announced tougher COVID-19 measures on Chinese travelers amid concerns over a lack of data on infections in China and fears of the possibility that new variants may spread.

China, which for most of the pandemic adopted a “zero-COVID” strategy that imposed harsh restrictions aimed at stamping out the virus, abruptly eased those measures in December.

Chinese authorities previously said that from Jan. 8, overseas travelers would no longer need to quarantine upon arriving in China, paving the way for Chinese residents to travel.

The Buffalo Bills’ efforts to educate their players on the benefits of receiving a Covid-19 vaccine have been “non-stop,” coach Sean McDermott said Thursday.

"There's not much room in our day left to do anything else other than educate on that and football," he said. "I can tell you've we've done our part in educating.”

To this point, however, those efforts have failed at a rate that is among the highest in the NFL.

The Washington Post reported Tuesday that 92.7% of all NFL players have at least started the vaccination process, and all but four teams have a vaccination rate of at least 89%. Based on General Manager Brandon Beane’s admission Tuesday that the Bills are hovering around an 80% vaccination rate, we know his team is among those four. It’s entirely possible the Bills have the lowest vaccination rate in the NFL

, and that could drop even more once the 53-man roster is set next week.

This is about when a certain segment of Bills Mafia starts to scream “stick to football!” Here’s the thing, though – this is about football.

The Bills got a taste this week of what can happen when that many players are unvaccinated. Wide receivers Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis are away from the team – missing the last three practices –because they are unvaccinated and came into close contact with a team trainer who, despite being fully vaccinated, tested positive for Covid-19. So, too, are defensive tackles Star Lotulelei and Vernon Butler Jr. for the same reason.

Covid-19 and its impact on the team is a story that isn’t going away, no matter how much all parties involved – players, coaches, fans and media – long for that to be the case. The latest development came Thursday when wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie shared on Twitter a picture of a letter from the NFL notifying him of a $14,650 fine for failing to wear a mask.

According to the letter, McKenzie's violations came at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday when he walked through the team's indoor fieldhouse into the training room and again at 4:35 p.m. when he did not have a mask on in the meeting area of the weight room while gathered near other players.

"Your refusal to wear a mask occurred after you were informed that it was required for unvaccinated players as set forth in your 2021 club discipline schedule and as reiterated by signage throughout the club facility stating that unvaccinated players may be subject to fines/discipline for failing to wear a mask," the letter read.

McKenzie was previously warned by the NFL about not wearing a mask in a letter dated July 27.

"For players who are not fully vaccinated against Covid-19, like you, your conduct is expressly prohibited by the protocols," the letter reads. "Again, your conduct potentially compromised not only your safety, but also the safety of others, as well as the league's ability to ensure that your club's training camp is conducted in a safe manner."

McKenzie's letter notes the violation occurred after a league staff member gave a presentation to the Bills regarding the Covid protocols agreed to by the league and the NFL Players Association.

Yes, you read that right. McKenzie broke Covid protocols in front of a league staffer … right after gave a presentation specifically designed to inform players of those protocols – and the penalties involved for breaking them.

Sadly, that’s not the only “SMH” moment to come from Thursday. Perhaps not surprisingly, Beasley shared that he, too, had been fined by the league for a masking violation. Imagine that!

Beasley, who said at the start of training camp he would be giving up posting to social media, went back on his word in a big way Thursday. His latest Twitter tirade included admitting that he was not wearing a mask for about “five steps” – as if that matters – when he entered the facility Tuesday.

He continued with his usual takes – that’s he’s not pro- or anti-vaccine, but rather favors individual choice – and also reiterated his line of complaints about the rules put in place for unvaccinated players – rules that were agreed to by the union of which he is a member.

McKenzie and Beasley would be subject to increased discipline from the NFL for further violations, which could include a maximum fine of one-week's salary and a four-game unpaid suspension. The league has fined 25 players for refusing to wear a mask or tracking device since the start of training camp, the NFL Network reported.

“It's unfortunate when players get fined,” McDermott said. “That being said, these rules have been agreed upon and in place and well communicated for some time. So, it's important for us that we focus on A. being safe and healthy. That's No. 1 and that's always been No. 1. Then No. 2 is doing our best to stay focused on the goal and purpose of why we're here, which is to win football games.”

Beasleyhelps the Bills do that – when he’s on the field. The receiver was asked if he intended to retire, as he had threatened in the spring.

"I'm gonna exhaust all options before retiring and try to change as much as I can for the other unvaccinated players,"he wrote in response. "They are not protected at all. They have to protect themselves from the vaccinated players and staff. Which is almost impossible since they’re tested 1/14 days."

That line of thinking – if you want to call it that – shows the challenge McDermott faces. As the coach addressed the issue before Thursday’s practice inside Highmark Stadium, it was hard not to go back to what Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said this week.

“Everyone has a right to make their own decisions regarding their health and their body. I believe in that completely – until your decisions as to yourself impacts negatively many others,” Jones said in an interview with Dallas radio station 105.3 The Fan. “Then the common good takes over. And I’m arm-waving here, but that has everything to do with the way I look at our team, the Cowboys, or the way I look at our society. We have got to check ‘I’ at the door and go forward with ‘we.’ ”

There are a good number of ‘I’ players on the Bills’ roster right now. Beasley is the most notable, but he’s not the only one. Davis, Lotulelei and Butler are three more. So, too, are linebackers Matt Milano and A.J. Klein, who were sent home Tuesday as a precaution before ultimately being deemed not to have had close contact with the trainer and thus being allowed to return to practice the following day. Being able to count on people is important, so when you're going through a week if this were a real week and having the players out that we've had, that makes it harder to win games that way. That's the competitive piece of this.”

At what point, McDermott was asked Thursday, does this stop being about “individual freedom” or “personal choice” or any other explanations offered by non-vaccinated players, and start being about the good of the team – from a competitive standpoint as well as a health-and-safety standpoint (to say nothing of the greater good to society)?

“Listen, there's plenty of evidence in my opinion on why you should get vaccinated,” the coach said. “That's what I did. That's my own personal beliefs. Everyone has their own beliefs, and I respect those. But my opinion, my beliefs, there's plenty of evidence to get vaccinated.”

If that’s not enough to convince players to get vaccinated, nothing seems like it will be. That includes the FDA giving full approval to the Pfizer vaccine. McDermott said although he’s heard some “encouraging conversations” regarding his unvaccinated players potentially getting vaccinated, he does not believe that the numbers have ultimately gone up.

“It is tough. It’s frustrating. It’s challenging &ndash; however you want to say it,” McDermott said. “I can’t make the decision for them.”

Yes, it’s “only” the preseason, but with the way the Delta variant is spreading, it’s not hard to imagine this situation coming up again when the games start to count. The Bills, as currently constructed, are at a competitive disadvantage. If Beasley, Davis and McKenzie come into contact with another Covid-positive person in the week leading up to the season opener against the Steelers, that’s three of the team’s projected top five receivers who will have to go through the NFL’s five-day, re-entry process – even if they test negative for Covid.

“Some people are in a better position potentially than we are at this point, just looking on the surface at the numbers,” McDermott conceded. “That being said, you got to go back to the personal decisions on this thing. And I respect our players' positions. In my personal opinion, it's right to get vaccinated.”

The effort to convince his players of that has been“absolutely non-stop,” McDermott said.

One thing the Bills won’t do, McDermott said Thursday, is factor in vaccination status when determining who makes the final roster.

Dion Dawkins is back on the football field not long after he was uncertain if he was going tolive or die.

The always-animated Buffalo Bills left tackle revealed earlier this week thathe contracted COVID-19 in July after receiving his two vaccination doses but before the two-week period after the second shot to be considered fully vaccinated.

“I didn’t know that my mind could get to the low that it could get to,” Dawkins told reporters. “I was extremely emotional. I didn’t even think that I was that emotional. I don’t want to scare anybody but there were moments that I was like, ‘I don’t know if I’m going to make this.’ I was down bad, where I could barely move and I was hurting.”

The symptomatic Dawkins spent four days in the hospital and lost 15 pounds.

“If there’s a checklist for it, it was everything,” Dawkins said. “It was shortness of breath, it was the hot and cold, it was the cough, it was the dehydration.”

More than 90 percent of players across the league have received at least one shot. But the Bills are the NFL’s most polarizing team when it comes to vaccination status.

Buffalo Bills become fourth NFL team with vaccine mandate for fans

Fresh off a home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers to open the 2021 NFL season, the Buffalo Bills head to South Beach to take on the Miami Dolphins next week.

Once they return home for Week 3 against the Washington Football Team, fans planning on attending games at Highmark Stadium in Western New York will be required to provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccine.

In heeding the new Erie County Department of Health’s directive, fans 12 and older will have to provide proof that they have received at least one shot of the vaccine up until October 31. After that, only fully-vaccinated (two doses) fans 12 and older will be allowed in the stadium. The Buffalo Bills did announce that those under the age of 12 don’t have to be vaccinated, but will be required to wear masks. All vaccinated individuals won’t have to mask up.

All fans ages 5 and older now must show proof of Covid vaccination to attend Buffalo Bills games, the team announced Wednesday.

“In accordance with the New York State Mandate, the Buffalo Bills and Highmark Stadium are updating its vaccination policy. Beginning immediately, all guests 5-11 will be required to present proof of at least the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine for entry into all events, concerts, and Bills games,” the Bills said in a statement.

The Bills previously required proof of vaccination for fans 12 and older, but are now expanding it as children ages 5-11 have been eligible for Pfizer’s low-dose vaccination since last month. Children under 5 can attend but must wear masks.

A negative Covid-19 test will not be accepted to gain entrance to the stadium; only vaccinated fans will be allowed. Proof of vaccination can be provided with a physical vaccination card (photos will not be accepted), NYS Excelsior Pass, Clear Digital Vaccine Card, or government digital vaccine proof from outside NYS.

No refunds will be offered for tickets purchased by unvaccinated fans. Ticketholders who are unable or refuse to show proof of vaccination can transfer, resell or donate their tickets.

The Buffalo News reports the nearby Keybank Center is also requiring fans ages 5 and older to show proof of at least one Covid-19 vaccine dose to attend concerts and sporting events, including Buffalo Sabres and Bandits games. The new policy is effective immediately.

US Virgin Islands Attorney General Denise George was fired after suing JPMorgan Chase for allegedly "turning a blind eye" to Jeffrey Epstein's sex crimes as he owned a private island in the territory where he abused underage girls.

RadarOnline.com can confirm that George accused JPMorgan of "knowingly providing and pulling the levers through which [Epstein's] recruiters and victims were paid."

"Human trafficking was the principal business of the accounts Epstein maintained at JPMorgan," she stated in the complaint, which alleged the financial giant concealed "wire and cash transactions that raised suspicion of a criminal enterprise whose currency was the sexual servitude" of girls and women in the Virgin Islands.

George said the filing on December 27 was the latest "ongoing effort" to bring accountability to those who helped facilitate Epstein's crimes.

The explosive 30-page lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages.

RadarOnline.com previously learned the estate of Epstein had agreed to pay roughly $105 million to the U.S. Virgin Islands. The amount was to settle claims that the disgraced financier used the territory for his sex trafficking operation.

"This settlement restores the faith of the People of the Virgin Islands that its laws will be enforced, without fear or favor, against those who break them," the then-Virgin Islands Attorney General shared in a news release. "We are sending a clear message that the Virgin Islands will not serve as a haven for human trafficking."

Reports have since surfaced claiming that USVI Governor Albert Bryan Jr. was upset that George did not notify him about the December 27 suit which also claimed JPMorgan "financially benefited from this participation."

According to a recent report, a bug in Google Home smart speakers allowed for the installation of a backdoor account that could be used to control the device and access its microphone feed. In short, hackers could take over Google’s devices to spy on users by listening in on their conversations.

Bleeping Computer reports that a vulnerability in Google Home smart speakers allowed the creation of a backdoor account that could be used to remotely control the device and access its microphone feed, potentially turning it into a spying tool.

The flaw was discovered by researcher Matt Kunze, who received a $107,500 reward for responsibly reporting it to Google in the previous year. Kunze published technical details and an attack scenario illustrating the exploit late last week.

During his experimentation with a Google Home Mini speaker, Kunze discovered that new accounts created using the Google Home app could remotely send commands to the device through the cloud API. In order to capture the encrypted HTTPS traffic and potentially obtain the user authorization token, the researcher used a Nmap scan to locate the port for the local HTTP API of Google Home and set up a proxy.

Kunze found that adding a new user to the target device involves two steps: obtaining the device name, certificate, and “cloud ID” from its local API. This information makes it possible to send a link request to the Google server. To add an unauthorized user to a target Google Home device, Kunze implemented the linking process in a Python script that automated the extraction of local device data and reproduced the linking request.

The researcher released three proof-of-concept scripts on GitHub that demonstrate the actions involved in the hack. However, these scripts should not be effective on Google Home devices running the latest firmware version. The proofs-of-concept go beyond simply adding an unauthorized user and also enable spying through the microphone, making arbitrary HTTP requests on the victim’s network, and reading/writing arbitrary files on the device.

US schools are ‘cesspool of Marxist indoctrination’ – senator

Republican lawmaker Marc Rubio has urged colleagues not to use federal funding for the promotion of radical ideas

The Republican Party must support governors and school-board members who are fighting to prevent US educational institutions from becoming a “cesspool of Marxist indoctrination,” Senator Marco Rubio has said.

“Dangerous academic constructs like critical race theory and radical gender theory are being forced on elementary school children,”Rubio wrote in an article published in the American Conservative magazine on Tuesday.

The party needs to provide “reinforcements” to Republican governors and school-board members who are fighting against such ideas being taught to students, he said.

“We need to ensure no federal funding is ever used to promote these radical ideas in schools,” the Florida senator insisted.

Any complaint by a parent or student about school curricula or counseling pushing “divisive concepts” also has to be thoroughly investigated, he added.

Critical race theory, which has existed in academia since the 1980s, is currently taught in many American schools, universities and workplaces. It suggests that people’s relative“privilege” is defined by their skin color, gender, sexuality and other fixed characteristics. Proponents of the theory claim that males sit at the top of the hierarchy and perpetuate “white supremacy” knowingly or unknowingly. Meanwhile, those who oppose the theory argue that it pits people of color against white people and leads to anti-white discrimination.

Some 17 states have so far passed legislation restricting the teaching of critical race theory, according to Education Week, while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis banned it from schools altogether last year.

Rubio’s article was titled “My Plan for American Renewal” and outlined three key tasks, which he believes Republicans should focus on in the near future. They are “putting Wall Street in its place,” bringing critical industries back to the US, and rebuilding America’s workforce. According to the senator, these steps require Washington to tackle Beijing and reorient the deep-rooted economic relationship between the two nations.

The national oil giant Petrobras will remain under government control

Brazil’s newly returned President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has scrapped plans to sell off eight state-run corporate giants, including the oil company Petroleo Brasileiro, known as Petrobras, Brazilian news website G1 reported on Monday.

Lula, who was at the helm from 2003 through 2010, was sworn in as Brazil’s president on January 1. Imprisoned for graft in 2018, Lula's convictions were overturned in 2019, allowing him to defeat Jair Bolsonaro in October's election.

The decision to remove state corporations from the list of state asset sales was one of the first official acts by the left-wing politician.

Aside from Petrobras, the order includes Pre-Sal Petroleo, the state firm responsible for the supervision and sale of the government’s share of oil and gas from production-sharing contracts, along with the postal service Correios, and the Empresa Brasil de Comunicacaooperator, which manages the federal government's broadcast network.

The Brazilian social welfare system’s IT services enterprise Dataprev, state-owned nuclear company Nuclep, IT services corporation Serpro, and the Agriculture Ministry’s National Supply Company are also off the privatization list.

The returning president has called for ”ensuring a rigorous analysis of the impacts of privatization on the public service or on the market,” adding that state banks and major oil companies such as Petrobras would play a ”key role” in the new economic cycle.

On Monday, the Sao Paulo stock index shed 3.24%, while Petrobras shares dropped around 6% as Lula's inauguration speech sparked investor fears of interventionist government policies. The national currency – the real – saw its value slide by 1.5%.

Lula’s predecessor, the populist far-right leader Jair Bolsonaro, led an administration mired in controversies ranging from corruption to environmental devastation.Lula’s own government was brought down by massive corruption in Petrobras, which led to the impeachment of his hand-picked successor in 2016.

Pak Jong-chon was second only to the North Korean leader himself

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has sacked the second-in-command of the country’s military, Pak Jong-chon, state media reported.

Pak, who served as vice chairman of the Central Military Commission of the ruling Workers’ Party and a secretary of the party’s Central Committee, was replaced by Ri Yong-gil.

The decision was made at the committee’s annual meeting last week, state news agency KCNA said on Sunday. Pak was shown sitting in the front row at the meeting with his head bowed. His seat was shown again later unoccupied.

The Central Military Commission, headed by Kim, is considered even more powerful than the country’s Defense Ministry when it comes to military decision-making.

No reason was offered for the shake-up, but North Korea’s government regularly reshuffles those in leadership positions.

Oh Gyeong-sup, a fellow at the Korea Institute for National Unification in Seoul, told Reutersthat Pak may have taken responsibility for a“failure of security operations” following an incident in which North Korean drones intruded into the South’s airspace.

When Seoul sent three drones back across the border, there was apparently no response from Pyongyang, indicating its defenses may have failed to detect UAVs.

Pak had been briefly demoted in 2021 when Kim chastised some officials for their handling of the Covid-19 pandemic response, but he was later promoted again.

On Monday, Kim called for Pyongyang to develop a new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) and boost its nuclear arsenal amid rising tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

He said Pyongyang needs “overwhelming military power” to defend itself, as Washington and “our undoubted enemy” in Seoul try to “isolate and stifle” it. He said a new missile capable of “quick nuclear counter-strike” must be developed.

Kim said the country is focused on mass-producing tactical nuclear weapons with an“exponential increase of the country’s nuclear arsenal” being the focus of its defense strategy for 2022, KCNA reported.

Pyongyang conducted a record number of missile tests last year, according to Western media calculations. It fired a short-range ballistic missile off its east coast in the early hours of January 1. Meanwhile, Washington and Seoul have claimed that the North is gearing up for its nuclear test since 2017.

This line of stars is real. A little too faint to see with the unaided eye, Kemble’s Cascade of stars inspires awe when seen with binoculars. Like the Big Dipper though, Kemble’s Cascade is an asterism, not a constellation. The asterism is visible in the northern sky toward the long-necked constellation of the Giraffe (Camelopardalis). This string of about 20 unrelated stars, each of similar brightness, spans over five times the angular width of the full moon. Stretching diagonally from the upper left to the lower right, Kemble's Cascade was popularized last century by astronomy enthusiast Lucian Kemble. The bright object near the top left of the image is the relatively compact Jolly Roger open cluster of stars, officially designated as NGC 1502.

Mexican Human Smuggler Busted with Five Migrants in Arizona near Border

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a Mexican national after finding him with five smuggled migrants on December 27. The incident began as Nogales police officers initiated a traffic stop on the suspected human smuggler’s SUV and called Border Patrol for assistance.

The agent conducted an immigration interview and identified the driver as a Mexican citizen. The Mexican man allegedly attempted to smuggle five migrants into the U.S. interior. Agents arrested the alleged human smuggler and transported the migrants to the station for processing.

Over the Christmas weekend, Ajo Station agents apprehended two large migrant groups near Lukeville, Arizona. The 166 migrants came to Arizona from six different countries, Chief Modlin tweeted.

During the month of December, Tucson Sector agents apprehended more than 22,000 migrants, according to an unofficial Border Patrol report reviewed by Breitbart Texas. Agents in the Yuma Sector to the west and the El Paso Sector to the east apprehended 31,000 and 56,000 respectively.

Between the three contiguous sectors, agents apprehended more than 109,000 migrants in December.
