According to Statistics Canada, in a recent Census, almost six million residents identified their ethnicity as Canadian.

“We don’t choose the ethnic categories on the Census,” Chief Statistician Anil Arora testified at 2020 hearings of the Commons languages committee. “They reflect the responses from the previous Census.”

Arora acknowledged changes to the ethnic aspect of the Census. “The ‘Canadian’ category was one example we included,” she said.

Some cancer patients in British Columbia will soon have the option to receive radiation therapy in Bellingham, Washington, as part of a temporary initiative to reduce wait times and increase capacity in the province’s cancer care system.

BC’s Minister of Health Adrian Dix announced on Monday that beginning on May 29, eligible breast cancer and prostate cancer patients will be able to travel to one of two clinics in Bellingham, located a short drive south of the border, for their treatment.

According to Dix, the government will cover any additional costs of travel or accommodations for the duration of the treatment.

“This commitment to supporting radiation treatment will initially focus on a specific group of patients – breast cancer and prostate cancer patients – are the largest patient populations receiving radiation therapy,” said Dix.

The new policy could help up to 50 patients per week receive immediate care. Continue...

The RCMP has since launched an investigation into SFCGM to “detect and perturb criminal activities supported by a foreign state that can threaten the safety of people living in Canada.”

According to the National Post, Canada Revenue Agency reports filed by the group show that the federal government gave SFCGM $178,450 in 2020-2021 and another $21,728 in 2021-2022.

Encounters with undocumented illegal migrants have more than doubled in the past seven months on the NORTHERN U.S. border, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data.

The figures show that Border Patrol agents recorded 4,827 migrant encounters between October 2022 and April along the U.S.-Canadian border.

Through the entire fiscal year 2022, Border Patrol along the northern border encountered 2,238 illegals.

The data also shows that of the close to 5000 who have crossed around half were from Mexico. They flew to Canada (no visa required) and then walked across the border there.

Sean Walsh, National Border Patrol Council President for the Swanton sector in Vermont, New York and New Hampshire has noted “The northern border is less secure than it ever has been and the security speaks for itself.”

UK authorities are investigating an “unusual” surge in severe myocarditis which has hit 15 babies in Wales and England and has killed at least one, the World Health Organization has announced.

On Tuesday, the WHO issued an alert that there had been a rise in “severe myocarditis” in newborns and infants between June 2022 and March 2023 in Wales and England.

It said that this was associated with the enterovirus infection, which rarely affects the heart.

A UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) spokesperson confirmed to The Epoch Times that 10 babies have been diagnosed in Wales and five have been diagnosed in England.

The WHO said that “although enterovirus infections are common in neonates and young infants, the reported increase in myocarditis with severe outcomes in neonates and infants associated with enterovirus infection is unusual.”

This ordeal comes after Anheuser-Busch (AB) gave away free beer to distributors on May 4 after a promotion with American transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney caused a boycott against Bud Light.

Police have charged two men with arson after a fire engulfed an over 120-year-old church in Grouard, Alberta on May 22, 2023.

The St. Bernard Catholic Church, which was built in 1901 and designated as a provincial historical site, was badly damaged by the blaze, which authorities believe was intentionally set.

The RCMP were called to assist the local firefighters at the church approximately at 3:30 p.m. After spending six hours battling the flames, most of the structure and its contents were irrecoverable.

The two suspects were arrested on Tuesday and charged with break and enter to commit theft and arson. They are scheduled to appear in court in High Prairie on May 29.

Both 56-year-old Kenneth Ferguson and 50-year-old Gerald Capot are believed to be from High Prairie.

“They have lost something very valuable to them,” said Archbishop Gerard Pettipas.

A British Columbia high school is investigating after a guest speaker reportedly distributed “safer snorting kits” to minors following a presentation about harm reduction and drug prevention, according to Vancouver Sun.

The "safer snorting kits," which included "straws and wallet-sized cards for cutting powder into snortable lines," were distributed last week to students in the Cowichan Valley school district in Victoria, BC, the outlet reports.

Students also allegedly received a booklet titled, "Staying Safe When You're Snorting" which gives tips on having safe sexual intercourse while high, sharing equipment, as well as the variety of different drugs that can be snorted through the device such as fentanyl, cocaine, crystal meth, and ketamine.

“You may be new to snorting drugs or have snorted drugs for many years. Either way, this resource has something for you,” the introduction of the booklet reads, according to Vancouver Sun.

"Have condoms and lube with you. You may want to have sex while high," one of the tips reads.

Another tip says, "Adding a personal touch to your snorting equipment will help you better recognize your own when using with others."

Here in Canada, for at least a few years – predating COVID, the big four banks have been routinely asking you why you are taking cash out whenever you withdraw anything over a couple thousand dollars. However, you can tell them pretty well anything (“because I want it”, “none of your business” or even “to blow it all on booze and hookers”, will all work). I haven’t heard of a case where a withdrawal has been denied based on the reason supplied, yet.

Havre Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a group of migrants during an attempted human smuggling incident near the Canadian border in Montana. A vehicle search led to the seizure of drugs, a handgun, and cash.

Sweetgrass Station Border Patrol agents observed two suspected migrants walking near the border. The two individuals were quickly approaching what appeared to be an awaiting human smuggler’s vehicle, according to information obtained from Border Patrol officials.

The agents conducted an immigration interview and determined the two pedestrians were migrants without legal authorization to be in the United States. The agents then interviewed the two occupants of the vehicle and determined they were also migrants who were illegally present in the U.S., officials stated.

The agents place all four migrants in custody and began a search of the smuggler’s vehicle. During the search, a K-9 alerted to the possible presence of drugs in the vehicle.

During a physical search of the vehicle, the agents found what they believed to be narcotics and drug paraphernalia. A field test identified the drugs as methamphetamine, cocaine, and freebase cocaine, the report states.

The search also led to the discovery of a loaded Taurus 9mm pistol and three loaded magazines. Also found was a stash of more than $12,000 in cash in the possession of one of the migrants. Agents seized the money, the gun, and the drugs. Continue...

An Edmonton teacher was charged with child luring and child pornography — and is now being investigated for similar offences related to an ongoing investigation in Florida — by ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit.

On Saturday, Brennan Horman, 27, was arrested at his St. Albert home with the assistance of St. Albert RCMP and the RCMP Major Crimes Unit (MCU).

He was was charged with child luring, making, transmitting, and possessing child pornography, in relation to sex offences he allegedly committed against a female youth in Parkland County.

Authorities in Florida were investigating the disappearance of a female youth and had information that Gorman may have had knowledge of her disappearance.

The youth was later found safe in Florida and there's no evidence to support the notion Gorman was involved in her disappearance. However, additional child luring and child pornography charges are pending against him as a result of his online interactions with the youth.

Gorman was employed as a teacher and most recently worked at Balwin Junior High School, where he taught children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. He's also worked at Belmead School (2022) and Good Shepherd Elementary School (2020). ICE has also learned Gorman worked at the following daycares in the past:

Little Learners St. Albert (2021)

Klarvatten Plaza Daycare, Edmonton (2019 – 2020)

Richard Secord Out of School Care, Edmonton (2018-2019)

Discoveryland Childcare & OSC, Edmonton (2018)

Edmonton Public Schools said it is cooperating with the investigation, as are the daycare facilities.

Police believe Gorman may have also used the alias “Steve,” and may have have told potential victims he was a teacher.

ICE believes there are additional victims in the Edmonton area and is asking anyone with information about Gorman to contact Edmonton Police Service non-emergency line at 780-423-4567.

Gorman has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court June 5. He was released on a number of court-imposed conditions, including not being able to maintain employment that would place him in the position of trust or authority over youth, and not to attend any schools.

The other day, I made my way to a local ice arena, took the elevator to the second-floor lobby, and waited in a set-up area until my number was called to get my Covid-19 booster shot.

I think it was Shot No. 5.

I never got into the Covid-19 hypodermic argument, nor will I. And I never saw the reason for it coming to a head in the form of a Freedom Convoy last February which turned downtown Ottawa into a no-go zone of truck-horn din and shouting activists.

While I give them props, it just wasn’t up my alley. I marched on the U.S. consulate in Toronto many times to protest the Vietnam War and filled my activist boots way back in my college days.

Meeting young women was a fringe benefit. Remember, this was the long-haired late 1960s. It was all about drugs, sex and rock ‘n’ roll.

Now the reason I got a Covid-19 booster shot—the fifth, as I pointed out—was because I have a stack of comorbidities, a word that becomes second nature to anyone with close to my stack of ailments: Heart disease, diabetes, stroke, cancer (prostate), possible lung cancer new), and all the smaller maladies that come with being 73 with a history of too many contact sports and poor(er) medicine.

I am one of the few I know who has never had the disease.

Luck? Smart protection routines? The lockdown? Or the injections? I couldn’t care an iota.

According to Statistics Canada, excess deaths for Canadians under 45 jumped 27% more than expected in the last five months of 2022. That amounts to 10 extra deaths per day or 1,597 more deaths than anticipated during that period.

Though excess mortality increased among all age demographics, the rate for Canadians under 45 is significantly higher than for older Canadians. COVID did not contribute significantly to excess mortality among younger people, with only 102 fatalities attributed to the respiratory virus for Canadians under 50 between August and December 2022.

Professor Mearshimer took the stage to present a rather condensed view of the conflict in Ukraine and his own judgment that Russia will win and that Ukraine would lose: the outcome that’s all but inevitable and hard to argue with. The conflict is a war of attrition with both sides trying to bleed the other white. In this type of war, the outcome depends on three key factors:

1. strength of resolve

2. population size

3. balance of artillery power

In terms of the strength of each side’s resolve, they are quite balanced: both view the conflict as existential. However, Russia has a large advantage in terms of population size and in terms of artillery power. Very conservatively, when the war started, Russian population was about 3.5 times that of Ukraine. But at least 8 million people have fled Ukraine since the beginning of the war and today Russia’s advantage is 5 to 1. In fact, it could be larger than that. It is estimated that Ukraine’s population today numbers between 14 and 18 million people, so Prof. Mearsheimer’s figures could be too conservative. In terms of artillery power, the balance is also grossly in Russia’s favor by a factor of 5, 7, or even 10 to 1.

The name of the lawyer was revealed after the advocacy group, Democracy Watch, filed an ethics complaint against the lawyer, who was shown to be Sheila Block of Torys LLP.

In his report issued Tuesday, Johnston concluded that no public inquiry was needed to investigate alleged Communist Chinese Party (CCP) election meddling because the matter could involve divulging state secrets.

He also noted in his report that he had retained “Sheila Block of Torys LLP to assist me in obtaining, reviewing and analyzing the materials that I expected to receive as well as assisting with interviews.”

Block is listed as a partner of Torys LLP, and of note was named to the Order of Canada last year.

The group Democracy Watch found Elections Canada filings that showed a person named Sheila Block of Toronto was a regular donor to the Liberal Party of Canada. Block made a total donation of $7,593 from 2006 to last October 27.

When Block was asked questions about her ties to the Liberal Party, she did not answer.

According to reports, GLSEN is a radical education group leading efforts to create ‘inclusive and anti-racist environments’ for LGBTQIA+ students.

“GLSEN believes that every student has the right to a safe, supportive, and LGBTQ-inclusive K-12 education. We are a national network of educators, students, and local GLSEN Chapters working to make this right a reality,” the website reads.

Target Corporation confirmed its collaboration with GLSEN and expressed pride in their decade-long partnership. The company has been making annual donations to GLSEN, emphasizing its support for the organization’s mission.

Counterfeit medicines are on the rise, according to data from the Pharmaceutical Security Institute.

As Statista's Anna Fleck shows in the following chart shows, nearly 6,000 pharmaceutical crime incidents were recorded by the nonprofit in 2021, up 38 percent from the year before and the peak figure since their records began 20 years ago.

In terms of the geographical distribution of counterfeit pharmaceutical seizures, the greatest number was recorded in North America (2,442) followed by the Asia Pacific (1,747), Latin America (770), the Near East (705), Eurasia (646), Europe (374) and Africa (187). This order is largely due to how well countries in these regions are effectively identifying pharmaceutical crime through law enforcement activity and inspections by drug regulatory agencies. As the PSI notes, competing law enforcement priorities, lack of funding, or inadequate regulatory structures can mean that counterfeit medicines go undetected.

According to the World Health Organization, roughly 10 percent of medical products circulating in low- and middle-income countries are substandard or falsified. In sub-Saharan African nations, this share is believed to be even higher, rising closer to 19-50 percent. With this in mind, the actual number of incidents of fake pharmaceuticals being manufactured and distributed is likely far higher than this chart shows, considering the many cases where fake drugs have not been detected or reported.

One reason cited for the surge in the volume of fake or defective pharmaceuticals is the increase of online pharmacies.

An Atlanta-based biotech company, Micron Biomedical, announced last week that it has successfully concluded the first-ever clinical trial testing of a microarray injection-free vaccine on children as young as 9 months old. This clinical trial was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Microarray injections are administered via a microneedle patch that looks like a Band-Aid and is applied by pressing it to the skin. “Supporting innovations in vaccine delivery is critical to addressing ongoing health inequities,” James Goodson, co-investigator for the study and senior scientist and epidemiologist at the CDC’s Global Immunization Division, said in the press release. This patch would make widespread global distribution of any vaccines easier, the researchers said, particularly in developing areas that may lack infrastructure, such as refrigeration, and trained professionals.

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) was hit with a fact check on Twitter over a claim that “215 children were discovered in unmarked graves” at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School in 2021.

The federal museum made the claim on May 27, which is based on reporting by the Canadian legacy media on soil disturbances detected using radar technology that has been recognized internationally as being sensationalized and inaccurate.

“It has been two years since the remains of 215 children were discovered in unmarked graves at the Kamloops Indian Residential School,” claimed the CMHR.

“Since then, more unmarked grave sites have been uncovered and there are still thousands of children who never came home from residential schools and whose graves have never been found.” Continue...

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau cavalierly told the United Nations that COVID 'showed us what we're capable of' in achieving Agenda 2030 and adopting international Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

"We are all so interconnected. The only way for us and our families to succeed is to ensure people on the other side of the world have the opportunities to succeed." said Trudeau, lauding the SDGs as a 'roadmap' to "create a successful planet."

They consist of seventeen objectives for member nations to adopt by 2030, including climate action, healthcare and other initiatives.

"The SDGs are an ambitious perspective of what the world should and can be — wanting to see your kids do better than you do," claimed Trudeau, Co-Chair of the UN Secretary-General's SDG Advocates.

"What we've seen is the challenges we face as a world isn't because ‘one person in one government somewhere’ decided to flip a switch. It is the cumulation of the billions of actions we take daily to either make the world slightly better or slightly worse."

The latest SDG progress report claims UN members have only achieved 12% of its targets, with over 30% of the SDGs stalled or far from completion. Continue...

“Step three: LGBT activists then characterize this refusal to proactively show support for their agenda as, quote, ‘backlash.’ Canadian media obediently characterizes it as such, and LGBT activists are now victims of their target’s refusal to participate in the narrative they themselves have created.”

Former Governor General David Johnston's refusal to testify comes after he recently ruled not to have a public inquiry to investigate alleged Communist Chinese Party election meddling.

Former Governor General David Johnston, whom Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appointed as “special rapporteur,” has refused to testify regarding his involvement in the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation.

According to Blacklock’s Reporter, Johnston would not take questions from Members of Parliament about his work at the Trudeau Foundation, as Members of the Commons public accounts threaten to summon him to testify regarding the Trudeau Foundation’s link to Communist China.

As violent crime continues to afflict cities across Canada despite the Trudeau government’s attempts to crack down on legally-owned guns, the government is set to announce a National Day Against Gun Violence to raise awareness and conduct a national conversation about gun crime.

Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino celebrated the move on Twitter as the Liberal government’s Bill C-21, which would cement the government’s ban on handgun sales in Canada, reaches its second reading in the Senate.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mendicino are expected to announce further details about the proclamation later today in a press conference in Toronto.
