As the debate over the housing crisis ramps up in Parliament, the impact of money laundering driving up property prices has been largely ignored. Behind the scenes, work is being done for Australia to catch up to global standards, but for renters and first home buyers locked out of the market, the damage is done.

Money laundering is a global menace that threatens the integrity of financial systems, and its consequences extend far beyond the realms of finance. One sector that is being significantly affected by it, is the Australian property market.

In recent years, Australia has experienced a massive surge in illicit funds flowing into its real estate sector. In 2021, Transparency International Australia provided a list of 10 publicly-reported examples showing money laundering in the property market, from Sudan, China, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, and Russia.

The examples described money-laundering in property by Sudanese generals, Malaysian bankers, PNG’s political elite, and Chinese high-rollers. And just as recently as February this year, the AFP conducted a money-laundering bust uncovering millions of dollars worth of Sydney homes – 20 addresses in total – and cryptocurrency and luxury items.

ANZ CoreLogic’s Housing Affordability Report for 2023 revealed it takes an average of 14 years for a person living in the Greater Sydney Area to save for a house deposit; and a person living in Greater Sydney is spending almost 34 per cent of their income on paying rent, and almost 63 per cent on servicing a new mortgage.

Situations like these are prime examples of how money laundering exacerbates the existing challenges that are already present in the property market, including the ongoing rental crisis.

REPORT: COVID ‘Patient Zero’ Was Wuhan Lab Scientist Conducting Gain-Of-Function Research

The first three patients to come down with COVID-19 more than three-and-a-half years ago were lab researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), according to a new report from journalists Michael Shellenberger, Matt Taibbi and Alex Gutentag.

The report, published Tuesday on Shellenberger’s “Public” Substack, claims Wuhan lab researchers Ben Hu, Yu Ping and Yan Zhu are “patients zero” for COVID-19, citing anonymous U.S. government officials involved in investigating the origins of COVID-19. The Directorate of National Intelligence is expected to release formerly classified material on the origins of COVID-19 later in June, potentially including the names of the three scientists, according to Public and Racket News, Taibbi’s Substack project.

Hu is considered the protégé of Shi Zhengli, China’s “batwoman” scientist infamous for her gain-of-function research on bat-based viruses, Dr. Alina Chan told Public. He allegedly led the gain-of-function research team at the WIV in the lead-up to the COVID-19 pandemic, doing dangerous work on SARS-like coronaviruses, according to Public.

It was already known that some scientists working in Wuhan had become ill with COVID-like symptoms in November 2019, and that the Chinese Communist Party worked to conceal information about their health from the outside world. But Public is the first to report the supposed identities of those scientists and claim they were the first known cases of COVID-19.

A 2017 video cited by Public allegedly shows Hu at the WIV watching another researcher handle lab specimens, with neither of them wearing protective gear. It also appears to show WIV scientists searching for virus samples in the wild with relatively little protective equipment.

Hu co-authored a number of coronavirus research papers, including a 2017 paper with Peter Daszak, the founder of EcoHealth Alliance. EcoHealth is a U.S.-based nonprofit that funneled American taxpayer-funded grants to the WIV for dangerous research.

In an article published Saturday, the Times of London quoted an anonymous State Department official who reportedly said “It has become increasingly clear that the Wuhan Institute of Virology was involved in the creation, promulgation and cover-up of the Covid-19 pandemic.”

On October 26, 2022, LifeSiteNews covered the story of a protest at Old Nick’s Pub in Eugene, Oregon. Parents were protesting an event featuring an 11-year-old drag queen whose mentor, a “drag mom” named Kelsey Boren who also moonlights as a drag queen called “Alwaiz Craving,” had recently been arrested for child sex abuse crimes. The pub, which is named after Satan, promoted the event with the tagline: “Vanellope is here to show you what an 11-year-old drag queen can do.”

Boren, 31, pleaded guilty in March to 11 counts of “encouraging sexual abuse” in the first degree and sentenced in Lane County Circuit Court to a mere 330 days in jail — roughly 30 days per charge. Boren, who frequently posted photos of herself with the 11-year-old drag performer, worked as a teacher for the Fern Ridge School District before being suspended after allegations surfaced.

Boren was arrested in August and police found that she had been both uploading and exchanging child pornography on the Internet. She was also charged with “using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct,”

Walensky was given a stinging send-off by House Republicans.

During the hearing, Walensky was subjected to a barrage of critical questioning from Republican lawmakers, who have increasingly grown weary of her inconsistent and misleading statements about the efficacy of vaccines in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Walensky claimed that her vaccine effectiveness claims were generally accurate when questioned by Rep. Jim Jordan.

In an equally tough line of questioning, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene pressed Walensky about her future employment plans following her departure from the CDC.

“What job are you going to take? Are you going to be on the board of either Pfizer or Moderna? Because you’ve done one hell of a job in making sure that they made a lot of money,” Greene asked directly.

Of all the confrontations during the hearing, perhaps the most striking came even before the official proceedings started. Ivan Raiklin, a former Green Beret and lawyer, directly challenged Walensky.

“Hey, Dr. Walensky,” said Ivan Raiklin. “I really look forward to you testifying about your involvement in the deaths of 38,000 Americans due to the jab.”

Raiklin posted the video of the confrontation on his Twitter with the caption, “One of the key future Nuremberg 2.0 defendants who committed EUA Product genocide enters the room.”

The suspect fired a rifle at other soldiers during a shooting exercise at the Hino Kihon firing range, police said. Among the three wounded is a 25-year-old soldier, police said.

Putin hints at Ukraine operation objectives

Moscow does not plan to “march on Kiev” right now, the president has implied in a conversation with war correspondents.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has made certain revelations regarding Moscow’s current goals in its military campaign in Ukraine. Russian troops are unlikely to mount an offensive targeting Kiev as of now, he hinted while discussing the operation with military correspondents and bloggers on Tuesday.

His comments came as the president was discussing a potential new mobilization campaign in Russia, the need for which would be defined by the operation’s goals, he said.

“Do we need to march on Kiev? If we do, then we need mobilization. If we don’t, then not,” Putin said, adding that “there is no need” to launch a new military draft campaign “today.” The president also said that Russian troops have enjoyed a steady inflow of volunteers. Over 150,000 people have signed a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry since January, he revealed.

Speaking about Russia’s “fundamental” goals in Ukraine, the president confirmed that they remained the same and that the Kremlin had no plans to change them. Missions are adapted based on developments on the battlefield, he added.

He accused “weaponized” agencies of waging “illegal psychological warfare campaigns against the American people much as they would try to destabilize a foreign country.”

He pulled no punches, slamming the tyrannical Biden regime for spurring on the “serious decline” of America, warning everyone that the “seal” of persecution had been broken on what they were willing to do to remove their political opponent.

Trump outlines legal defense in post-arraignment speech: 'We will win bigger than ever before'

"The president enjoys unconstrained authority to make decisions the disposal of documents," Trump said.

President Donald Trump outlined his legal defense in a Tuesday evening speech after pleading not guilty to 37 criminal counts related to his handling of classified materials the same day.

Trump made his remarks in Bedminster, N.J., after appearing at a Miami federal courthouse to enter his plea earlier that day. Trump has denied any wrongdoing and characterized special counsel Jack Smith's bringing of charges against him as part of an ongoing Democrat-led political persecution of him.

"Today we witness the most evil and heinous abuse of power in the history of our country," he said. "A corrupt sitting president had his top political opponent arrested on fake and fabricated charges of which he and numerous other presidents would be guilty right in the middle of a presidential election in which he is losing very badly."

"This is called election interference," he continued. "More importantly, it's a political persecution like something straight out of a fascist or a communist nation. This day will go down in infamy and Joe Biden will forever be remembered not only as the most corrupt president in the history of our country, but perhaps even more importantly the president, who together with a band of his closest thugs, misfits, and Marxists, tried to destroy American democracy."

"But they will fail and we will win bigger than every before," he vowed. "Charging a former president of the United States under the Espionage Act of 1917, it wasn't meant for this."

In an uncharacteristically detailed explanation, Trump outlined his interpretation of the Presidential Records Act and quoted from the "Clinton socks" court case determining that the president enjoys broad authority to declassify or dispose of documents.

Trump asserted the absurdity of charging him with crimes that would demand 400 years in prison, contending that the Espionage Act was meant to address foreign spying, which warranted the death penalty.

He further reiterated his argument that he maintained the authority to possess the documents under the Presidential Records Act and pointed to the Clinton case, which established that the president maintains sweeping authority to separate personal materials from presidential records.

"The president enjoys unconstrained authority to make decisions the disposal of documents," Trump said.

Trump went on to quote the Clinton decision which explicitly established that the National Archives and Records Administration lacks any legal means to determined what documents constitute presidential records nor to seize any such materials.

Trump also addressed the numerous photographs of materials the FBI seized, calling them "staged" and insisting most of the boxes contained memorabilia from his presidency such as press clippings and merchandize.

"I'm not the one who thinks I'm above the law. I'm the one that followed the law," he declared, before highlighting the apparent disparity between the DOJ's handling of his alleged misconduct and that of President Joe Biden for a comparable issue.

Trump called the 37 charges against him “unthinkable,” and said that “what they have done to our lawyers” has been “absolutely horrible.” The president also called Jack Smith, the lead prosecutor in the investigation, “deranged”

He also said that the “sham indictment put forth by the Biden administration included staged photos of boxes at Mar-a-Lago.”

Jack Smith, the special counsel appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland to helm the Biden Justice Department’s investigations of former President Donald Trump, has a mixed track record handling investigations into major political figures.

Smith was the chief of the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Section in the nation’s capital from 2010 until early 2015, leading a team of 30 prosecutors in conducting public corruption cases throughout the United States.

During his years as chief, Smith’s unit garnered a successful conviction against former Gov. Bob McDonnell (R-VA), which was later unanimously overturned by the Supreme Court, and pursued a case against Democratic vice presidential candidate and former Sen. John Edwards (D-NC), which resulted in a hung jury and a mistrial. Smith's team also secured a conviction against Rep. Rick Renzi (R-AZ) before he was pardoned by Trump in 2021 and laid the groundwork for what would become the unsuccessful prosecution of Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ).

“Today, I signed an order appointing Jack Smith to serve as special counsel,” Garland announced during his Friday press conference. “The order authorizes him to continue the ongoing investigations into” the Capitol riot and the Mar-a-Lago saga, the attorney general said, “and to prosecute any federal crimes that may arise from those investigations.”

Garland added: “Mr. Smith is the right choice to complete these matters in an even-handed and urgent manner.”

The Justice Department announced that Smith had resigned from his most recent role as chief prosecutor for the special court in The Hague, where he had been tasked with investigating war crimes in Kosovo.

Before that, Smith served as first assistant U.S. attorney and acting U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee from early 2015 to the summer of 2017.

“I intend to conduct the assigned investigation and any prosecutions that may result from them independently and in the best traditions of the Department of Justice,” Smith promised Friday. "I will exercise independent judgment and will move the investigations forward expeditiously and thoroughly to whatever outcome the facts and the law dictate.”

(The Center Square) - For the last few years California has had devastating wildfires ravage the land, disrupt the lives of thousands of residents and result in fatalities and now new Environmental Protection Agency rules may make it more likely to occur again.

Last year’s Fairview fire consumed more than 28,000 acres and took two lives but it was the Creek Fire in 2021 which burned more than 379,000 acres, that set the record for the largest single fire in California’s history. The year before that was another record-setting year- for the most wildfires in a single year- when more than 9,000 wildfires charred more than 4 million acres of land in 2020.

Now U.S. Senators Alex Padilla, Dianne Feinstein (both D-Calif.) and 23 members of California's House of Representatives delegation are aiming to keep prescribed burns in California's arsenal of tools to stop wildfires from getting out of control again.

In January the EPA proposed to tighten fine particle pollution standards triggering concern among the California representatives that the implementation of the rule could inadvertently limit land managers from deploying prescribed fires, and in fact have the opposite effect of improving air quality should an unplanned and uncontrollable wildfire begin.

Jack Smith, the head of the Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Section, will leave his post at the end of the month to become the First Assistant U.S. Attorney in Nashville, Tenn., announced David Rivera, U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee.

The First Assistant U.S. Attorney position has been vacant since David Rivera was named U.S. Attorney.

“We are most fortunate to be gaining someone with such exceptional talent and experience in leading the prosecution of an array of criminal cases including violent criminal enterprises, white collar crimes, international crimes and public corruption,” said U.S. Attorney David Rivera. “Jack’s leadership ability and prosecutorial experience will greatly enhance our current staff of exceptional prosecutors the office.”

Smith has been the Chief of the Public Integrity Section in Washington, D.C. since 2010, where he has lead a team of 30 prosecutors in litigating complex public corruption cases throughout the United States, including the conviction yesterday of former CIA Officer Jeffrey Sterling, for illegally disclosing national defense information and obstructing justice. Smith’s unit also recently secured bribery and extortion convictions of former Virginia Governor Robert McDonnell and racketeering, bribery and extortion convictions of former Arizona U.S. Representative Rick Renzi.

Before taking the helm of the Public Integrity Section, Smith served as the investigation coordinator for the Office of the Prosecutor with the International Criminal Court, where he lead the investigative teams conducting international investigations of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.

Smith previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of New York from 1999-2008, where he held increasing responsible positions including Chief of the Criminal Litigation Unit. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office he was a prosecutor in the New York County District Attorney’s Office for five years. Smith is a 1994 graduate of Harvard Law School.

“I have had the extraordinary privilege of working for the American people in a variety of offices and alongside some of the most dedicated public servants,” said Smith. “I look forward to beginning the next chapter and serving the people of the Middle District of Tennessee as we continue the great work of this office in seeking justice for our constituents.”

Smith assumes the role as First Assistant on February 9, 2015.

Moscow estimates Ukraine’s counteroffensive losses

Some 7,500 troops have been killed or injured in failed attacks since June 4, the Russian Defense Ministry has said

Ukraine has lost several thousand service memberssince launching its much-anticipated counteroffensive earlier this month, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed on Wednesday.

In a statement, the ministry said that Kiev’s forces have suffered some 7,500 killed or wounded, with the tally only including service members on the front line, and not those struck by Russian high-precision missiles and airstrikes deeper into Ukrainian territory.

The estimatedlosses encompass the period from June 4, when the Russian Defense Ministry said it had repelled a large-scale Ukrainian offensive along five sections of the front line in Donbass. Since then, Kiev’s troops have attempted to storm Russian positions on numerous occasions, failing to gain any ground, according to Moscow.

The ministry added that in thelast 24 hours, Russian troops had repelled two Ukrainian attacksnear the settlement of Makarovka in the southern sector of the front. The assaults involved two Ukrainian motorized infantry companies,four tanks and 11 armored vehicles, the ministry claimed. It added that each of the tanks had been destroyed,along with seven vehicles.

AnotherUkrainian assaultin the neighboring settlement ofPrechistovka also failed, with Kiev’s troops losing five tanks and five armored vehicles, the ministry said.

According to Russian defense officials,Ukraine’s total lossesin the southern part of Donetsk and Zaporozhye Regions overthe past 24 hours amounted to more than 800 service members, 20 tanks, 15 armored vehicles, four armored personnel carriers and other military hardware.

In addition,Russian forces conductedmassive high-precision, long-range strikes onassembly areasof Ukrainian reserves andforeign mercenaries, as well as onmilitary warehouses storingforeign-supplied equipment, the statement read. “All designated targets have been hit,” it added.

Speaking to war correspondents at the Kremlin on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Ukrainian troops were “taking heavy casualties,” which he claimed were greater than Russia’s by a factor of ten. The Russian leader also said Ukraine had lost up to 30% of the military equipment it had been sent by the West.

Affirmative action: UNC lawsuit could change college admissions nationwide. What you need to know.

A lawsuit against the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has the potential to end affirmative action nationwide by the end of this month.

The U.S. Supreme Court recently heard two related lawsuits, one against UNC and another against Harvard University, that challenge the constitutionality of affirmative action in public and private universities. Its rulings are due any day; the court’s term ends in June.

A ruling in favor of the universities would protect affirmative action, allowing schools nationwide to continue considering race as one of many factors that go into whether a student should be admitted. If the court rules against UNC and Harvard, it would stop affirmative action in schools — and could open the door for future lawsuits to challenge its use in hiring, too.

Here’s a breakdown of what colleges can (and can’t) do with affirmative action, as well as the background of how these cases came about.

How affirmative action has affected UNC

North Carolina’s flagship university remains highly unrepresentative of the state as a whole, despite decades of affirmative action policies.

In this year’s freshman class at UNC, 87% of students are either white or Asian, despite those groups being roughly two-thirds of the overall state population. Just 8% of all UNC students are Black, despite one-fourth of the state identifying as Black or multiracial.

Black students, as well as faculty members, have recently criticized the university for not doing enough to support minorities on campus.

But the lawsuit, filed by the group Student for Fair Admission, says there are too many Black and Hispanic students being admitted, at the expense of white and Asian students with higher test scores. The lawsuit particularly focuses on Asian students, who make up 3% of North Carolina’s population and 22% of UNC students — a number the lawsuit says should be even higher.

“An entire industry exists to help them appear ‘less Asian’ on their college applications; and the unlevel playing field contributes to their unusually high levels of anxiety, depression, and suicide,” the lawsuit claims.

UNC’s academics remain at a high level: According to the university, most students scored between a 1340 and 1500 on the SAT, out of 1600 possible points. Nearly every student ranked in the top 20% of their high school class for grade point average, and most were in their high school’s top 10 total students.

Ex-Russian president outlines potential ‘buffer zone’ in Ukraine

The plan could offer increased protection for Russian regions, Dmitry Medvedev has said

Any potential demilitarized zonecreated by Russia in Ukraine should extend close to thePolish border, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev claimed on Wednesday.

Writing on Telegram, Medvedev responded to remarks by President Vladimir Putin, who on Tuesday suggested that Moscow could consider establishing a “buffer zone” in Ukraineto prevent Russian regions from being shelled.

“Taking into account the enemy’s decisions to supply the Kiev regime with weapons with an even longer range,this line should pass in the area of Lviv… so that it could play a real defensive role,” Medvedev said, referring to the large city in western Ukraine, not far from the Polish border.

Moscow has repeatedly accused Kiev of using Western-supplied weapons to attack civilian targets in Russia. Last month, the UK provided Kiev with an unspecified number of Storm Shadow missiles, which have a range of more than 250km (150 miles). The weapons were subsequently used by Ukrainian troops to target civilians in the Russian city of Lugansk, Moscow claimed.

In recent weeks, Ukrainian troops have significantly ramped up artillery attacks on Russian border regions, firing hundreds of shells and causing civilian casualties as well as widespread destruction.

Medvedev, who currently serves as deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, also pointed to what he claimed was the “proven complicity” of Western nations in thesabotage of the Nord Streamgas pipelines last autumn. He added that against this backdrop,Moscow “has no more constraints even in moral terms to refrain from destroying enemy cable communications laid on the ocean floor.” (This is a major announcement)

In February, American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh released a report accusing the US of orchestrating the attack on the pipelines, which were built to transport gas from Russia to Germany. Hersh claimed the US acted in response to the German government’s reluctance to send more military support to Ukraine. Washington dismissed the allegations, although President Putin said he “fully agrees” with Hersh’s conclusions.

What happened between Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch?

In June 2016, Clinton met Lynch on board her Justice Department jet while it was parked in Phoenix, Arizona.

Lynch was the Attorney General - the US government’s chief lawyer - and Clinton’s wife Hillary was running against Donald Trump for the presidency.

It was alleged the two were discussing an ongoing investigation into Hillary’s use of a private email server as Secretary of State under Barack Obama’s administration.

Lynch denied the conversation was about the Clinton email controversy and claimed they were discussing personal matters.

The attorney general maintained the former US leader 'asked about her trip' and was discussing the Brexit vote, which happened four days earlier.

Lynch also insisted that she tried to exit the conversation but Clinton 'continued talking'.

The allegations of malpractice were never proved, although it did substantial damage to Clinton’s presidential bid as she lost to Trump in a shock defeat.

How did Christopher Sign break the story?

Sign broke the story on June 29, 2016 while working on local TV network ABC15 Phoenix.

The journalist had been informed of the story by an unnamed source, breaking the news two days after the meeting.

The scandal then began to dominate international headlines.

It was released in 2019, three years after the incident.

But the most troubling question I have is related to why Brigham Young entered into a polyandrous marriage with her whenshe'd already been sealed to Josephand she was still with her legal husband (who was still an active member of the church). I do know that Zina had a say in all of this, but why would Brigham Young choose to marry her when he could only be sealed to her for time? This polyandrous marriage leaves me shaking my head (others do too actually....but this one makes no sense to me).

As part of the Levirate Marriages the Tweive offered to all of Joseph's wives after he died (my memory says, I am pretty sure this is on FAIR). The wives were able to choose if and to whom they were married where the man was seen as a stand in for Joseph.

WASHINGTON — President Biden acted amused Tuesday when asked about the alleged existence of audio recordings of himself and the Ukrainian businessman who allegedly bribed him while he was vice president.

“Are there tapes that you accepted bribes, President Biden?

Is that true?”

The Post asked Biden as he left an event with US diplomats in the White House East Room.

Biden, 80, stopped mid-stride and turned around with a smile on his face

— then seemed to chuckle to himself and shook his head as he turned to walk away without saying a word.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) revealed Monday that a paid FBI source said the same Ukrainian businessman who allegedly paid $5 million apiece in bribes to then-Vice President Biden and his son Hunter in 2015 and 2016 said that he had 15 audio recordings of Hunter and two of Joe Biden that he kept as “insurance.”

Grassley accused the FBI of redacting information about the tapes from an informant file that the bureau allowed House Oversight Committee members to read last week.

It’s unclear if the FBI has possession of any of the alleged tapes.

As Biden continued walking with his back turned to the press Tuesday evening, he answered “no” to a CNN reporter’s request for comment on the arraignment of former President Donald Trump on charges related to mishandling classified records.

Many elected Republicans said that the Justice Department’s treatment of Trump sharply contrasts with its treatment of the Bidens.

The informant file accusing Biden of bribery was created in June 2020 after the FBI discovered information provided in 2017 by the same longtime informant. The document received public attention this year when a whistleblower contacted Grassley, who then told House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.).

The informant file alleges that the Bidens were paid bribes to aid the interests of Burisma owner Mykola Zlochevsky, according to lawmakers who read it. Burisma hired Hunter to serve on the company’s board beginning in April 2014 as his vice president father took over the Obama administration’s Ukraine portfolio. Former White House stenographer Mike McCormick says Joe Biden pushed US support for Kyiv’s natural gas industry just days after Hunter quietly joined Burisma.

Biden on Thursday attempted to laugh off the bribery allegation when The Post asked about the claim by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) that the file contained “damning evidence” that the commander-in-chief “sold out his country.”

“Where’s the money?” Biden replied, quickly adding: “I’m joking, it’s a bunch of malarkey.”

Borgen is produced by SAM Productions on behalf of DR, the Danish public broadcaster, which previously produced The Killing. In Denmark, Borgen, lit. 'The Castle', is the informal name of Christiansborg Palace where all three branches of Danish government reside: the Parliament, the Prime Minister's Office, and the Supreme Court, and is often used as a stand in term for the Danish Parliament (Folketinget).

The programme tells how, against all the odds, Birgitte Nyborg Christensen (Sidse Babett Knudsen)—a minor centrist politician—becomes the first female prime minister of Denmark.[1] Other main characters are Birgitte Hjort Sørensen as Katrine Fønsmark, a TV1 news anchor; Pilou Asbæk as Kasper Juul, a spin doctor; Søren Malling as Torben Friis, news editor for TV1; Mikael Birkkjær as Birgitte's husband, Phillip; and Benedikte Hansen as Hanne Holm, a journalist.[2]

Four seasons, each comprising 8-10 episodes, have been made. The first season was broadcast in Denmark in the autumn of 2010, the second in the autumn of 2011,[3] and the third beginning 1 January 2013. In the UK, BBC Four started broadcasting the first season on 7 January 2012, with a repeat-showing starting on 13 June 2012.[4] The second season started on 5 January 2013,[5] with initial overnight viewing figures of over one million for the first episode.[6] The third season began on 16 November 2013, with two episodes being shown back-to-back.[7][8] The fourth season was announced on 29 April 2020 as a partnership between Netflix and DR, and began airing on 13 February 2022.[9] The fourth season was released as a separate series titled Borgen - Riget, Magten, og Æren (known internationally as Borgen – Power & Glory) on Netflix on 2 June 2022.[10]

The series has been broadcast in most European countries, as well as in the United States, Canada,[11] Mexico,[12] South Korea, Japan,[13] Israel, India, Australia,[14] and New Zealand.[15] The first three seasons were added to Netflix globally on 1 September 2020.

Adam Price, the creator of the series, has stated, "I definitely want you to believe there is a shred of idealism in Birgitte Nyborg that is real. She's also become a very professional political being, but there is definitely that idealism, and that's important."[16]

Sidse Babett Knudsen plays Nyborg. In describing her relationship with the character, she said, "They liked to see a woman feeling guilty and I didn't like that ... I think [Nyborg] should be responsible for her feelings. And when she has to make unsympathetic decisions, she should stand by them. I don't want her to feel sorry for herself or suddenly become a soppy mess in her private life, because you wouldn't believe her as a prime minister if she did that."[17]

In the first episode, Birgitte is the leader of a minority political party, the "Moderates". However, as a result of a sequence of events following a closely fought general election, she finds herself a compromise candidate for the role of prime minister and remains in this position until the end of the second series. In the first series, she is known as Birgitte Nyborg Christensen. She divorces her husband Philip Christensen after signing the papers at the end of the first episode of series two and is then known as Birgitte Nyborg. In the elapsed time between the second and third series, Nyborg loses her position and becomes a businesswoman and public speaker, returning in the third series to form a new political party, the "New Democrats". The series ends with Nyborg taking up the position of the Danish foreign minister.[18]

In the fourth season, titled Riget, Magten, og Æren (The Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory), Nyborg remains as foreign minister, having to navigate the implication of oil being found in Greenland that threatens to derail her party's green agenda, spark an international crisis with the US, China, and Russia, and push the government to the brink of collapse.[19] The series ends with Nyborg resigned as leader of the New Democrats and foreign minister. It also hints that Nyborg will become the next President of the European Commission.[20]

Report: Intelligence Agencies Buying ‘Sensitive and Intimate’ Data of American Citizens

recently-declassified report alleges that multiple U.S. intelligence agencies have been actively “flouting the law” by gathering massive collections of “sensitive and intimate” data on American citizens.

According to the New York Post, the claims were made in a report to Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Avril Haines, which was only recently declassified and is now being amplified by watchdog groups and privacy advocates. The report details a loophole that has allowed intelligence agencies, including the FBI, DHS, and NSA, to simply buy large troves of cell phone data for tracking purposes without needing a warrant.

The Shark Nebula

There is no sea on Earth large enough to contain the Shark nebula. This predator apparition poses us no danger as it is composed only of interstellar gas and dust. Dark dust like that featured here is somewhat like cigarette smoke and created in the cool atmospheres of giant stars. After being expelled with gas and gravitationally recondensing, massive stars may carve intricate structures into their birth cloud using their high energy light and fast stellar winds as sculpting tools. The heat they generate evaporates the murky molecular cloud as well as causing ambient hydrogen gas to disperse and glow red. During disintegration, we humans can enjoy imagining these great clouds as common icons, like we do for water clouds on Earth. Including smaller dust nebulae such as Lynds Dark Nebula 1235 and Van den Bergh 149 & 150, the Shark nebula spans about 15 light years and lies about 650 light years away toward the constellation of the King of Aethiopia (Cepheus).

Scientists have long known that the gene-transfer technologies used in both the Pfizer and J & J COVID-19 vaccines were associated with systemic inflammation and the potential for viral DNA to get inserted into the DNA of body cells as well as reproductive cells. Insertion of the viral DNA coding for the spike protein into reproductive cells, such as eggs and sperm, would then be transmitted to your offspring.

While we were repeatedly told that there was no chance these vaccines could alter our DNA, a study from the winter of 2022 showed that the Pfizer vaccine caused human liver cells to copy the vaccine mRNA into DNA and insert it into the person’s DNA. This was not a surprise. Molecular biologists knew that this was likely. Further, they knew that insertion of viral DNA into the DNA of a person’s immune cells would increase their risks for leukemia. However, most stayed silent as large segments of our population were injected with this experimental gene-transfer technology.[1]‍

IS THE WIDESPREAD USE OF GENE-THERAPY/TRANSFER TECHNOLOGY SAFE?

“In 1999 18-year-old Jesse Gelsinger died when an experimental gene treatment designed to treat his metabolic liver disease sent his immune system into overdrive. A few years later, in 2003, researchers reported that several people treated for immunodeficiency developed leukemias, an unfortunate result of the virus randomly inserting its cargo into cancer-promoting regions of the genome.”[2]‍

WAIT! WHAT??? Gene transfer technologies, such as those used with the COVID-19 vaccines are known to cause severe inflammatory responses and lead to cancer in some people??

YES. In fact, the Mayo Clinic lists the risks associated with gene therapy as follows:[3]‍

- Unwanted immune system reaction. Your body's immune system may see the newly introduced vaccine particles or the protein they produce as intruders and attack them. This may cause inflammation and, in severe cases, organ failure.

- Targeting the wrong cells. Because this technology can affect more than one type of cell, it's possible that healthy cells may be damaged, causing other illness or diseases, such as cancer.

- Infection caused by the virus. It's possible that once introduced into the body, the adenoviral vectors (such as J & J and Astra-Zeneca) may recover their original ability to cause disease.

- Possibility of causing a tumor. If the new genes get inserted in the wrong spot in your DNA, there is a chance that the insertion might lead to tumor formation.

In a recent meeting with AFLDS National State Leaders, Dr. Dana Granberg-Nill asked Dr. Christina Parks about the effects of the spike proteins in the COVID jabs.

“When I think of the injuries caused by the spike proteins, I think it is inflammation-driven. Whether it’s the heart, whether it’s the nerves, whether it’s the skin, that that spike protein is causing an inflammation and sometimes and autoimmune response. Have you seen anything along the lines of soft tissue injuries or even bone fractures that are out of proportion to injury in kids?”

Dr. Parks agreed with Dr. Granberg-Nill that there is inflammation but points out there are many more mechanisms than inflammation at work. “When anything gets dysregulated, it causes inflammation,” Parks comments, “The adrenal and T-cell effects are somewhat driven by inflammation but they’re somewhat driven by some really core level dysregulations, not just inflammation. There’s evidence that it may bind major tumor suppressors. It allows huge DNA damage and possibly the formation of cancer cells.”

Parks recognized an earlier study on infants this highlights core dysregulation. “Remember we have that data in infants where when the mother had COVID or was vaccinated, when they were vaccinated it was way worse, but they had literally NO STEM CELLS, almost NONE. So, that’s not just inflammation. That’s a core dysregulation.
