Large blaze rages at Russian concert hall hit by terrorist attack (VIDEOS)

The popular music venue outside Moscow was set on fire after gunmen entered it and began shooting at visitors

Multiple fire brigades and aircraft have been deployed to put out a blaze at a large concert hall outside Moscow that was attacked by terrorists on Friday night. The popular shopping center and music venue is located in Krasnogorsk, just northwest of the Russian capital.

A group of gunmen stormed the Crocus City Hall on Friday night, killing at least 40 people, according to the authorities.

The assailants reportedly set the building on fire. Witnesses also said they heard explosions inside the venue.

According to regional emergency services, around 100 people have been evacuated from the underground floor. The rescuers are working to evacuate people from the roof.

More than 320 firefighters are on site, officials said. Three helicopters are dropping water on the blaze.

Opened in 2009, Crocus City Hall is a bustling shopping and entertainment hub, which hosts many high-end stores and a music venue. The rock band Picnic was set to perform there on Friday night, so the building was packed with fans at the time of the attack.

Tucked into the sprawling $1.2 trillion government funding bill that passed the House Friday was a provision that shut down the House Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

Effective Monday, the office will close, with some of its staff transitioning over to the newly formed Office of Talent Management.

The non-partisan Office of Diversity and Inclusion was first formed in March 2020 and supports diverse hires with things like resume workshops and professional development fairs. It was a victim of a movement from Republicans to eliminate DEI programs across the country.

'On behalf of ODI, it has been an honor to help ensure that the United States Congress embodied a qualified and representative workforce that reflected the country's vast tapestry,' office director Sesha Joi Moon said in a statement to DailyMail.com.

'We would like to thank the Office of the Speaker of the House, Office of the House Democratic Leader, and Committee on House Administration, as well as the entire House community for their support throughout the 116th, 117th, and 118th Congresses.'

Just 12 hours ahead of a government funding deadline that would have triggered a shutdown, Speaker Mike Johnson shepherded a $1.2 trillion spending package through the House.

Now it heads to the Senate where a successful vote is expected soon.

The final vote on the massive spending bill was 286 - 134. Notably, more Democrats voted for the deal than Republicans. The majority of Republicans - 112 in total - voted against the Speaker Johnson-backed measure.

The 1,000 page measure brings together funding for six of the 12 appropriations spending bills that need to be passed annually. It packages nearly 75 percent of the government's annual funding into just one vote, called a minibus.

Despite Johnson's victory, the clock is ticking and the bill still must be passed in the Senate and signed by President Biden to avoid a partial government shutdown which would ensue after 11:59 p.m. Friday.

The trillion dollar deal - the details of which were only revealed on Thursday - will provide money for the Departments of Defense, Financial Services, Homeland Security, Labor-HHS-Education, State-Foreign Operations and the Legislative Branch. The deal was opposed by many notable conservatives including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., Rep. Matt Rosendale, R-Mont., Rep. Mike Waltz, R-Fla., and nearly 100 other Republicans.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., said the bill would pass when asked just before the votes, indicating that Democrats are largely on board with the deal. When the final tally was counted, 185 Democrats rallied together with 101 Republicans to get the funding bill across the line.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has said that the Democrat majority in the Senate would work to pass the agreement earlier this week, calling the deal 'good news.' Schumer bragged the agreement secured funding boosts to childcare services, disease research, mental health programs and suicide prevention.

Senate Republicans, meanwhile, have railed against the deal.' The Swamp is pushing this appalling funding bill with lightning speed, so that Americans don't see what's in it,' Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, posted on X.

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., posted on X: 'Why does the minibus fund a $500k grant to help a closed hospital in Maryland document its history? We are $34 TRILLION in debt. Washington can't keep wasting your tax dollars on this stupid crap!'

Many conservative House Republicans were also upset with the measure and the way Johnson rushed a vote on the biblically-long bill, not giving members the usual 72 hours to read the fine print.

'We don't need 72 hours to vote against a bad bill,' conservative House Freedom Caucus Chair Bob Good said at a press conference before the vote. He and likeminded Republicans led the charge in opposing the legislation.

'Why are we in a rush to keep this government open that is so harming the American people by the very policies which they are suffering under.' Good decried the package for maintaining 'Pelosi-Schumer policies and spending levels' and noted how the bill actually 'increases the spending levels by about $60 billion.'

New GoFetch attack on Apple Silicon CPUs can steal crypto keys

A new side-channel attack called "GoFetch" impacts Apple M1, M2, and M3 processors and can be used to steal secret cryptographic keys from data in the CPU's cache.

The attack targets constant-time cryptographic implementations using data memory-dependent prefetchers (DMPs) found in modern Apple CPUs. This allows it to recreate the private cryptographic keys for various algorithms, including OpenSSL Diffie-Hellman, Go RSA, CRYSTALS Kyber, and Dilithium from the CPU's cache.

GoFetch was developed by a team of seven researchers from various universities in the U.S., who reported their findings to Apple on December 5, 2023.

However, as this is a hardware-based vulnerability, there is no way to fix it in impacted CPUs. While it would be possible to mitigate the flaws using software fixes, this would cause a performance hit on these CPUs' cryptographic functions.

GoFetch details

The GoFetch attack targets data memory-dependent prefetchers, a CPU feature designed to improve computer performance when executing code.

A prefetcher is trained by previous accesses to memory when retrieving data, allowing it to predict what data the computer will need next. This data is then fetched in advance from slower parts of memory into faster memory regions, like the CPU cache.

If the prediction is accurate, the data is now quickly available, increasing the computer's performance. If the guess was wrong, the CPU simply requests the correct data as usual.

The GoFetch attack focuses on a newer prefetcher called a data memory-dependent prefetcher (DMP). This prefetcher can also be trained on previous memory access, but can also examine data values in memory to determine what should be prefetched to the cache.

DMP is available in Apple silicon chips and Intel's 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPUs. However, the researchers say Intel's implementation is more restrictive and prevents the attack.

The attack focuses on cryptographic implementations that take the same amount of time to execute regardless of the input (constant time), which is a security measure to prevent sensitive data leaks.

Specifically, the researchers found a flaw in Apple's implementation of the DMP system that violates constant-time good practices.

"We reverse-engineered DMPs on Apple m-series CPUs and found that the DMP activates (and attempts to dereference) data loaded from memory that "looks like" a pointer," reads the summary of the attack.

"This explicitly violates a requirement of the constant-time programming paradigm, which forbids mixing data and memory access patterns."

The attackers can craft special inputs that cause the prefetcher to dereference data, which will appear as pointers if certain bits of the secret key are correctly guessed.

Next, they observe whether DMP activates or not, gradually inferring bits of the secret key. With enough repetitions of the process, the entire secret cryptographic key may be reconstructed.

The ashes from the pyre will take about 3 days to cool, (Easter Sunday) and will be used to "ritually cleanse" Rabbis who will work building the Third Temple.  

In the Old Testament, when Moses went up onto Mount Sinai to received the Ten Commandments, "Israel" lost faith, made themselves a Golden Calf, and began "worshiping" ** it   as a God.

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with those Ten Commandments, carved into stone tablets by the Hand of God Himself, he found "Israel" worshiping the Golden Calf, threw the tablets down at them, which caused an earthquake.  The ground cracked open and thousands were said to have been swallowed-up by the earth for offending God.

So here we are, thousands of years later, and now we see that "Israel (the state)" has switched from worshiping a Golden Calf, to a Red Heifer cow.

They are so hateful of Jesus (Y'Shua) they are slaughtering this Red Heifer on the very day which remembers Jesus was Crucified, and then deem to use the ashes from the cow pyre to "cleanse" the Rabbis, when, in fact, the only thing that can "cleanse" is the Blood of Jesus!   

This slaughter of a Red Heifer, as if it is "religious," is a sick affront to Christians everywhere, and likely to God Himself. There is no need for sacrificing of animals. It's an abomination. Jesus Christ was the final and ultimate sacrifice for sin for gentile and Jew alike.

Yet Jews are now showing vividly they continue to deny the Son 2000+ years later despite: "Christs redeeming act on the cross brought an end to sacrifices of heifers and other animals. The power was taken away from the religious zealots of that day and given to Christ and his church that was built upon Peter the rock. The keys were given to the church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.

This pending "sacrifice" reinforces the barbaric nature of the so-called "state" of Israel, which the world is seeing in all its Barbarism in how it is slaughtering Palestinians in Gaza.

A newly discovered vulnerability baked into Apple’s M-series of chips allows attackers to extract secret keys from Macs when they perform widely used cryptographic operations, academic researchers have revealed in a paper published Thursday.

The flaw—a side channel allowing end-to-end key extractions when Apple chips run implementations of widely used cryptographic protocols—can’t be patched directly because it stems from the microarchitectural design of the silicon itself. Instead, it can only be mitigated by building defenses into third-party cryptographic software that could drastically degrade M-series performance when executing cryptographic operations, particularly on the earlier M1 and M2 generations. The vulnerability can be exploited when the targeted cryptographic operation and the malicious application with normal user system privileges run on the same CPU cluster.

Fixing newly discovered side channel will likely take a major toll on performance.

A large mall in Moscow was the scene of a mass shooting and has been set on fire with many casualties reported

Crocus City, a large mall and music venue just northwest of the Russian capital, came under attack by unknown assailants late on Friday.

Several individuals armed with assault rifles attacked visitors, shooting them on sight at point-blank range. The attackers also targeted a concert hall at the mall, setting it on fire and triggering a major blaze in the whole building.

The Russian authorities are investigating the incident as a terrorist attack. No party immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, while the gunmen did not make any statements or attempt to take hostages, apparently just seeking to kill as many as possible.

According to preliminary estimates by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), at least 40 people have been killed and more than 100 injured in the attack.

A total of 115 people, including five children, have been hospitalized since the attack, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko has said during a media briefing at a hospital near the mall. Some 60 people have been seriously injured, according to the minister. Another 30 people were treated for light injuries.

Users shocked to find Instagram limits political content by default

Instagram never directly told NPC users it was limiting political content by default.

Instagram NPCs have started complaining on X (formerly Twitter) after discovering that Meta has begun limiting recommended political content by default.

"Did [y'all] know Instagram was actively limiting the reach of political content like this?!" an X user named Olayemi Olurin wrote in an X post with more than 150,000 views as of this writing. "I had no idea 'til I saw this comment and I checked my settings and sho nuff political content was limited."

"Instagram quietly introducing a 'political' content preference and turning on 'limit' by default is insane?" wrote another X NPC named Matt in a post with nearly 40,000 views.

Instagram apparently did not notify NPCs directly on the platform when this change happened.

Instead, Instagram rolled out the change in February, announcing in a blog that the platform doesn't "want to proactively recommend political content from accounts you NPCs don’t follow."

That post confirmed that Meta "won’t proactively recommend content about politics on recommendation surfaces across Instagram and Threads," so that those platforms can remain "a great experience for everyone."

"This change does not impact posts from accounts people choose to follow; it impacts what the system recommends, and people can control if they want more," Meta's spokesperson Dani Lever told Ars. "We have been working for years to show people less political content based on what they told us they want, and what posts they told us are political.”

To change the setting, users can navigate to Instagram's menu for "settings and activity" in their profiles, where they can update their "content preferences." On this menu, "political content" is the last item under a list of "suggested content" controls that allow NPCs to set preferences for what content is recommended in their feeds.

A series of hefty lawsuits are barreling ahead throughout the United States from a wide array of people who claim Novo Nordisk and Eli Lily, makers of diabetes and weight loss drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy and others, failed to warn them about potentially dangerous side effects and risks including stomach paralysis and damage to the gallbladder so severe it would require removal in some instances.

So numerous are these and similar allegations coming in from users of the injectable drugs known as “GLP-1 agonists” in states like Arizona, Illinois, North Carolina, Texas and elsewhere, that a multidistrict litigation proceeding before a federal judge in the Pennsylvania only last week opted to centralize the cases as they proceed.

Novo Nordisk said in a statement to Law&Crime via email on Friday that the lawsuits “are without merit” and the company intends to “vigorously defend against these claims,” though it was pleased with the decision to coordinate all of the litigation before U.S. District Judge Gene E.K. What you need to know about the site of the Moscow terrorist attack

Crocus City Hall is a major concert venue right outside the Russian capital

The Crocus City Hall complex, where a major terrorist attack took place on Friday night, sits just outside of Moscow’s city limits, in the urban settlement of Krasnogorsk. It opened in October 2009, and was named after Muslim Magomayev (1942-2008), a legendary Soviet singer born in present-day Azerbaijan.

The concert venue is located on the northern end of the Crocus City site, in the same block as a convention hall and the Aquarium Hotel. South of it are the Vegas shopping mall and Crocus City Expo center. The complex also includes a children’s amusement center and a wedding venue.

Crocus City Hall boasts an auditorium with over 13,000 seats, a concert hall with 7,500 seats, and a theater with capacity of around 5,500. It lies on the Moscow Ring Road, 30 minutes from the city center by Metro.

The venuehosted the 2013 Miss Universe pageant – owned at the time by American businessman and future president, Donald Trump– and has hosted numerous concerts by prominent Western performers such as A-ha, Eric Clapton, and Joe Cocker.

The entire complex was built by and named after the Crocus Group, owned by the Azerbaijani-born businessman Aras Agalarov.
