The End Of The Avdeevka CauldronFeb. 16, 2024

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2024/02/the-end-of-the-avdeevka-cauldron.html

The small cauldron south ofAvdeevkaaround the 'Zenit' fortification, as seen in the Feb 15 map, has fallen. The Ukrainian military who fled from it under fire through open fields had to leave their wounded behind:

Both Russian and Ukrainian media reported Ukrainian troops had evacuated the formidable fortification network first built in 2014 following the Kremlin’s first invasion of Ukraine and improved since then. Ukrainian troops forced to fight their way out of a near-total encirclement in a bid to reach friendly lines had to abandon wounded and suffered casualties as they retreated, reports from both sides said.

Viktor Bilyak, a member of 2nd Company, 1st Battalion, 110th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, the unit based at Zenit, in an Instagram post said higher command denied medical evacuation to wounded and six men of his 15-20 men section were abandoned to the Russians.

Another strong point, the Donetsk city water filtration plant east of Avdeevka has likewise fallen. Ukrainian troops retreated from it.

On Wednesday the 3rd separate assault brigade, an Azov neo-nazi unit, was ordered into the city. It found no prepared fortifications, was unprotected from artillery and aerial bombing and soon completely surrounded. After taking high losses in a short time frame the brigade command ordered to retreat from the central city:

The elite third Separate Assault Brigade, one of Ukraine’s most prominent fighting units, was deployed to the area in a bid to stabilise the situation.

Andrii Biletskyi, the brigade’s commander, said: “Avdiivka is hell.”

He described the situation as “precarious and unstable”, with the Russians constantly deploying fresh troops and resources to the fight.

“Our fighters demonstrate unprecedented heroism,” the commander wrote on the Telegram messaging app. “We are forced to fight at 360 degrees against new brigades that the enemy is setting up.”

Russia has amassed some 50,000 troops on the front line between its forces and the Ukrainians defending Avdiivka, according to Dmytro Lykhoviy, the Ukrainian military spokesman.

“In Avdiivka, a manoeuvre is underway in some places to withdraw our units to more advantageous positions, in some places to force [the Russians] out of positions,” he added.

Units of the 3rd brigade filmed themselves leaving Avdeevka towards the west. Their U.S. made M113 'armored' aluminum can is driving at high speed and comes under fire. They are passing the 'Welcome to Avdeevka' sign which, in late December, was the background of Zelenski's selfie stunt at the west entrance to Avdeevka.

Michael Kovrig, who was detained by the Chinese on allegations of espionage during the Huawei affair, asked Crown prosecutors to go easy on Cameron Ortis, Canada's ex-civilian head of the RCMP's intelligence unit. It is believed Ortis was Canada's most highly placed Chinese Communist Party mole. "In the rising geopolitical storm engulfing our country, we need more people like Ortis to serve and protect Canada. The scale of the challenges we face are such that we can't afford to waste his talent and energy. We need his hard work, and he needs our mercy." Kovrig wrote.

Cameron Ortis, ex-RCMP official accused of leaking secrets, says he did nothing wrong

Cameron Ortis, the former high-ranking RCMP intelligence official accused of leaking top-secret intelligence to police targets, told court recently that while he has some regrets, his actions were "not wrong."

The Crown alleges Ortis used his position as the head of a highly secret unit within the RCMP to attempt to sell intelligence gathered by Canada and its Five Eyes allies to individuals linked to the criminal underworld.

Ortis has pleaded not guilty to all six charges against him. His defence team says he was acting on "secret information" sent by a foreign agency to protect Canada from "serious and imminent threats."

Ortis began testifying in his own defence last week, behind closed doors. A redacted transcript of what he told the jury a week ago was released to reporters Thursday night.

Transcript of alleged RCMP leaker's testimony still not available due to 'serious technical issue'

The bombshell moments in Cameron Ortis's national security trial, so far

The former civilian member of the RCMP told the jury his "mission was to meet the threats to the security of Canada head on."

"Do you regret acting now?" asked his defence lawyer, Mark Ertel.

"I don't make decisions based on my career or career prospects, but I couldn't have envisioned or imagined that all of this would transpire," said Ortis.

"Of course, in some sense I regret everything that's happened over the last four years to everyone, but what I did was not wrong."

Ortis said his arrest has been personally "devastating."

He said his pension and possessions are "all gone" and his reputation has been "completely destroyed."

"Family stood by me. Friends did not," he said.

"Friends from the old days in British Columbia who I've known for a long time have stood by me, but friends and colleagues in Ottawa and professional contacts have not."

Ortis says he was told to pursue money-laundering

The 51-year-old faces six charges, including multiple counts under the Security of Information Act, the law meant to protect Canada's secrets. He is accused of sharing special operational information "intentionally and without authority" with three men, and of attempting to share information with another.

During the first few hours of his testimony, he recounted how he joined the RCMP and started a unit called Operations Research (OR), which was meant to brief senior leadership on emerging threats based on intelligence gathered by Canada and its allies.

The unit began dealing with counterterrorism files but took on transnational organized crime through a file known to the RCMP as "Skyfall."

"It was money laundering that was threatening the integrity and the fabric of the Canadian financial system," Ortis said.

"I saw some unique reporting during the ordinary course of triage that explained, described, and outlined a threat to Canada and the banking system. An extraordinary amount of money that was being laundered through Canada and its closest partners, and the actors that were involved with that money laundering."

Former RCMP intelligence boss was acting on information from a foreign agency: defence

Accused RCMP leaker's former boss left 'sick to my stomach' when shown documents meant for police targets

He said those "actors" were hostile state actors — "enemies of the Western world."

Ortis said he decided to create an infographic on what he learned to present a briefing to the RCMP's senior chain of command — to the assistant commissioner, the deputy commissioner and the commissioner.

"This was right on the RCMP's mandate in terms of high-level organized crime carrying out money laundering that at least in my experience had a scale and scope that I had never seen before," he said.

Ertel asked Ortis if, after the briefing, he had the impression the issue was something his superiors wanted him to pursue.

"That's correct," said Ortis.

"I was told, I can paraphrase, 'Get on this.'"

The transcript provided to media Thursday night ends at the point when the court took a lunch break on Nov. 2.

A consortium of media organizations that includes CBC News fought the move to restrict access to Ortis's testimony.

Other details of the secrecy measure are covered by a publication ban.

Tuesday and Wednesday

WikiLeaks founder Assange may be near the end of his long fight to stay out of the US

By BRIAN MELLEY Updated 2:43 AM EST, February 19, 2024

LONDON (AP) — WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange’s fight to avoid facing spying charges in the United States may be nearing an end following a protracted legal saga in the U.K. that included seven years of self-exile inside a foreign embassy and five years in prison.

Assange faces what could be his final court hearing in London starting Tuesday as he tries to stop his extradition to the U.S. The High Court has scheduled two days of arguments over whether Assange can ask an appeals court to block his transfer. If the court doesn’t allow the appeal to go forward, he could be sent across the Atlantic.

His wife says the decision is a matter of life and death for Assange, whose health has deteriorated during his time in custody.

“His life is at risk every single day he stays in prison,” Stella Assange said Thursday. “If he’s extradited, he will die.”

WHAT IS ASSANGE CHARGED WITH?

Assange, 52, an Australian computer expert, has been indicted in the U.S. on 18 charges over Wikileaks’ publication of hundreds of thousands of classified documents in 2010.

Prosecutors say he conspired with U.S. army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning to hack into a Pentagon computer and release secret diplomatic cables and military files on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He faces 17 counts of espionage and one charge of computer misuse. If convicted, his lawyers say he could receive a prison term of up to 175 years, though American authorities have said any sentence is likely to be much lower.

Assange and his supporters argue he acted as a journalist to expose U.S. military wrongdoing and is protected under press freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Among the files published by WikiLeaks was video of a 2007 Apache helicopter attack by American forces in Baghdad that killed 11 people, including two Reuters journalists.

WARNING

TUTANOTA IS COMPROMISED

Tutanota recently released a new recovery code feature that allows a user to recover their account if they forget their password. This recovery code adds a second method to decrypt your private key and thus your emails. This feature was never asked for by the user base, and they refuse to let users opt out of creating a recovery code. Each time you log in to Tutanota you will see a pop-up requesting that you create a recovery code.

Now I will explain why this is happening:

I work within the German government, and I know for a fact that Tutanota was served an order by the intelligence services to create a database that can be used to decrypt any user's email address upon request. Tutanota is currently under a gag order and cannot speak about this request publicly. This is basically Hushmail/Lavabit 2.0. The recovery code is essentially a government recovery code / backdoor used to read your email if requested by the government.

I'm posting via a public WiFi with a disposable device in a location with no CCTV cameras. This was very hard to do, and I won't be posting again so please do not delete this thread. Users please screencap or archive the thread. I felt I must warn people, especially journalists who rely on the security of Tutanota and may reside in countries with oppressive regimes or human rights abuses.

Non-Citizens Have Been Voting Since 2008

American Spectator, by David Catron

Why would a president running for reelection refuse to meet with the Speaker of the House to discuss a national crisis that most voters blame on the president himself? This would be regarded as bizarre behavior under any circumstances, but it’s particularly perverse considering that the crisis in question is illegal immigration — the signature issue of Biden’s probable challenger in November. Moreover, according to the RealClearPolitics polling average, 63 percent of the voters disapprove of the way he has handled immigration. Yet Biden refuses to discuss the problem. It’s almost as if he thinks it somehow works to his advantage.

I wonder if perhaps he paid to get assaulted, transferred to a safer spot?

Alexei Navalny – seen as a pro-democracy, transparency, anti-corruption Russian nationalist gadfly – died while on a walk in his Siberian prison. He was serving a long sentence, one the Biden administration raged about: the Russian judiciary had convicted him of several crimes including fraud, embezzlement, “inciting extremist activities” and “rehabilitating Nazi ideology.”

I’m sure Donald Trump can sense the irony.

Navalny’s recent incarceration in Siberia comes of the heels of a less reported imprisonment and death of an actual pro-democracy, transparency, anti-corruption US, UK, and Ukrainian gadfly – who died of untreated pneumonia in a Ukrainian prison. Gonzalo Lira, a 55-year-old American citizen, married father of two, was a journalist and commentator. He had been charged by Kiev, without a date or plan for a trial, with “justifying Russian aggression against Ukraine.” Lira was said to have violated Ukrainian criminal code, a code Lincoln, Wilson and FDR would have enthusiastically enforced.

Lira and Navalny criticized and annoyed certain governments. One did so as a politician, backed by several countries that, as a matter of policy, constantly call for regime change in Russia; the other criticized the Ukrainian government, for its US-pressed bombing the breakaway Donbass region, its refusal to abide by the Minsk Accords, its Nazi influences within the Army and government, and its efforts to join NATO. Lira also reported what he saw during the past few years of war – Kiev bleeding billions of Western dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives, and displacing nearly half of its population, because, as a matter of policy circa 2024, Kiev and its US master, will not negotiate with Putin.

The United States government was involved in the fates of both of these men. Navalny received continual support, funding and media advocacy from the West, in hopes of regime change in Russia; as for Lira, he was a US citizen by birth (born in California) and as an American, was due legal and welfare advocacy from the US Embassy in Kiev. Instead of support, he was ridiculed on the front pages of mainstream media in the US for his eyewitness reporting from inside Ukraine, and received no financial or any other kind of support as he served as one of the few objective American voices watching and reporting on this expensive and destructive proxy campaign. The US embassy in Kiev is large and quite well staffed. Yet, the embassy said little, and did even less for Gonzalo Lira.

DC’s upside-down morality is on constant display, but with these accidental examples of two middle-aged men, both working to expose government wrongdoing, only one was spending millions of dollars with connections to many European and NATO leaders, and their intelligence agencies, as this video illustrates. Only one was celebrated in the West, to include his wife’s invitation and presence at the most recent “Davos of Defense” three day military conference, along with the US Vice President and key EU leadership. Only one was a “democratic hero.”

Trudeau Foundation probe can’t rule out possibility Chinese donations part of ‘influence scheme’ targeting Ottawa

A special committee hired by the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation to investigate donations tied to two wealthy Chinese businessmen said it couldn’t rule out the possibility cash sent to the Montreal charity may have been part of an “influence scheme” targeting the Trudeau government.

The probe concluded the foundation’s handling of tax receipts related to the Chinese donations was “non-compliant” with the Income Tax Act, and that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s brother, Alexandre, had not been authorized by the foundation’s board to sign the $200,000 donation pledge for the organization.

The Canada Revenue Agency said in a statement late Wednesday that it had not sanctioned the Trudeau Foundation over the taxation issue.

“Since the CRA has neither imposed a sanction upon the charity referenced nor revoked its registered status as the result of an audit, the confidentiality provisions of the Act prevent the CRA from releasing any information regarding if or when they were last audited,” CRA spokesman Charles Drouin said.

In its findings, the special committee said it did not believe the motivation for the 2016 donation was intended to influence the foundation’s activities, but said it could have been targeting the recently elected Trudeau government.

“We could not exclude the possibility that the donations in question may have been part of a wider influence scheme,” said the Feb. 5 report posted on the Trudeau Foundation website. “It is important to emphasize the fact that this potential scheme, if any, would have intended to target the Canadian government rather than the foundation itself.”

Nevertheless, the report concluded: “We did not find any evidence that could suggest that the donations in question were linked to any interference scheme.”

The report added it found no evidence the two Chinese billionaires – Zhang Bin and Niu Gensheng – or the Prime Minister “were involved in any illegal activities in connection with the donation itself.”

The foundation, which offers scholarships, fellowships and leadership programs, commemorates former prime minister Pierre Trudeau. It operates with a $125-million endowment from the Canadian government provided in 2002 when former Liberal prime minister Jean Chrétien was in power.

In February, 2023, The Globe reported, citing a national-security source, that the Canadian Security Intelligence Service had intercepted a 2014 conversation between Mr. Zhang and an unnamed commercial attaché at one of China’s consulates in Canada. They discussed the federal election that was expected to take place in 2015, and the possibility that the Liberals would defeat Stephen Harper’s Conservatives and form the next government.

The diplomat told Mr. Zhang that Beijing would reimburse him for the entire amount of the donation to the Trudeau Foundation, according to the source. The Globe has not named the source because they risk prosecution under the Security of Information Act. The special committee report said it found no evidence of this reimbursement.

In 2016, nine months after Justin Trudeau won a majority government, the Trudeau Foundation and the University of Montreal publicly identified Mr. Zhang and Mr. Niu as the donors behind a $1-million gift. The men pledged $200,000 to the foundation. They also pledged $750,000 to the law school where Pierre Trudeau studied and taught, and $50,000 for a statue of the former prime minister that was never built. The school and the foundation ultimately received most, but not all, of the promised amounts.

After The Globe’s report, the foundation returned $140,000 to the Chinese donors, who had delivered 70 per cent of the pledged money. The executive director and eight board members also resigned in April.

Foundation policy in 2016 required acceptances of gifts under $1-million to be signed by the organization’s president and chief executive, who at the time was Morris Rosenberg, a former senior civil servant. Gifts over $1-million needed to be signed by the board.

Instead, Alexandre Trudeau and a foundation board member at the time signed the agreement with the two Chinese businessmen.

“Alexandre Trudeau was not specifically allowed to sign the donation pledge unless authorized to do so,” the report said. “We did not identify any records or evidence that the Foundation’s board of directors authorized Mr. Alexandre Trudeau to do so. This being said, in our view, the donation pledge is valid.”

The special committee was composed of two lawyers who had no connection to the Trudeau foundation: Peter MacKinnon and Stuart H. (Kip) Cobbett. It retained the services of lawyers at Norton Rose Fulbright to help the probe.

The committee report said “a number of individuals, including a few key witnesses, declined or ignored our requests to meet” during its investigation.

Their report confirmed previous stories by The Globe that said the China Cultural Industry Association – a state-backed group in Beijing that aims to build “the soft power of Chinese culture” globally – contacted the Trudeau Foundation at the outset to dictate what name and address should be put on the tax receipt for the gift. The special committee’s report, however, could not find a receipt to reflect this request.

As The Globe reported in 2023, the association asked the Trudeau Foundation to refrain from using the names of Mr. Zhang and Mr. Niu. Instead, the officials asked the foundation to attribute the donation to the Canadian subsidiary of Millennium Golden Eagle International, a firm run by Mr. Zhang. They asked that the tax receipt be linked to an address in Hong Kong rather than the company’s Canadian address – which is a large house, with a pool and basketball court, in the Montreal suburb of Dorval.

The special committee report found a receipt for the second instalment of the donation from the Chinese businessmen was contrary to both internal foundation rules and the Income Tax Act because the money was not coming from the two men but from Millennium’s Canadian subsidiary.

“The donation receipt bears the correct address for Millennium Canada, but is addressed to Mr. Zhang and Mr. Niu in addition to Millennium Canada. The names of these two individuals should not have appeared as donors on the donation receipt since they were not the payors of said donation, the whole in accordance with the Income Tax Act” as well as with the foundation’s own internal policies, the report said.

A Globe reporter last year visited the address in Hong Kong, which now appears to be occupied by a different company. An employee who answered the door had never heard of Millennium Golden Eagle. The company does not appear to ever have been registered in Hong Kong.

Some asylum seekers from Mexico smuggled here by organized crime, Trudeau says

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says organized crime is playing a role in bringing some asylum seekers from Mexico to this country, but he did not comment on whether Ottawa plans to impose visa restrictions on Mexican travellers.

Mr. Trudeau, who made his remarks during a visit to Winnipeg Friday, said Canada is in talks with Mexico to stem the flood of asylum seekers. Ottawa has previously said it’s weighing imposing a visa requirement on Mexican visitors.

“We’re in conversations with Mexico about making sure the number of asylum seekers, some of them supported by organized crime in Mexico … are reduced,” he said during a conversation at a Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce event.

The Immigration and Refugee Board has reported a surge in refugee claims by Mexicans arriving in Canada, rising to 17,490 claims in 2023 from 250 in 2016. IRB statistics show only a fraction of these claims have been accepted.

Last week, the RCMP told the House of Commons immigration committee it was probing the role of criminal gangs in the smuggling of people to Canada.

“We can say that in Canada from our investigations across the country that there is Mexican organized crime involved in this,” said Richard Burchill, the RCMP’s acting assistant commissioner of federal policing criminal operations.

In the same committee meeting, Immigration Minister Marc Miller suggested Ottawa would take steps to address Mexican asylum seekers but added, “I’m not going to tell you in advance when it will occur.”

Mexico’s government said last month it recognizes Canada’s concerns about the throngs of Mexican asylum seekers.

Canada is considering immigration measures on visiting Mexicans after Quebec Premier François Legault in January urged Ottawa to slow the influx of refugees that he said are straining the province’s resources.

“Mexican nationals represent a growing proportion of the asylum seekers arriving in Quebec, the possibility of entering Canada from Mexico without a visa certainly explains part of the flow of asylum seekers,” Mr. Legault said in a January letter. Nearly 60,000 asylum seekers – including Mexicans – were registered in Quebec in the first 11 months of last year, he wrote.

In a statement Jan. 24, Mexico’s foreign affairs secretariat said it met with Canadian officials in December to address Ottawa’s concerns about the flow of refugee claimants. The secretariat said the two countries agreed on measures to address the matter and noted asylum applications from Mexicans in Canada dropped in December.

Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc told CBC News in January that Ottawa is considering measures including visas to “ensure that people who arrived from Mexico arrived for the appropriate reasons and that this doesn’t become sort of a side door to get access to Canada.” No decision has been made.

Mexican refugee claims in Canada have jumped since 2016 when the federal government scrapped a requirement for Mexican visitors to obtain visas before travelling here.

Official Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre has called on Ottawa to reimpose visa requirements on Mexicans.

“In 2016, the Trudeau government lifted visa requirements on Mexico that the previous Conservative government introduced, leading to increasing fraud and abuse in the asylum system, straining Canada’s ability to provide services and creating long processing delays for legitimate asylum seekers before the Immigration and Refugee Board,” Mr. Poilievre said in a statement.

“Moreover, there are serious concerns about the involvement of organized crime using the system to engage in human trafficking,” Mr. Poilievre added.

Mexico’s foreign affairs secretariat said in its January statement it wants to identify solutions to address what it called legitimate concerns from Canada and provinces without interfering in the orderly movement of people between the two countries.

New general, MOAR info..interesting...

https://www.rt.com/russia/592680-ukraine-us-chemical-weapons/

"Washington and Kiev have violated articles of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) as Ukrainian forces have used illegal munitions on the battlefield, Russian Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov has claimed.

The head of Russia’s Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Protection Forces provided several examples of Kiev’s alleged use of banned chemical weapons and non-lethal chemical agents that he said were obtained from the US.

Kirillov claimed that Ukraine used drones to dropUS-made gas grenades on December 28, 2023 containing “CS” compound – a chemical classified as a riot-control tool that irritates the eyes and upper respiratory tract, and can cause skin burns, respiratory paralysis and cardiac arrest when used in high concentrations.

He said the delivery of such munitions by the US to Ukraine was a direct violation of the rules of the OPCW, which states that a country must “never, under any circumstances, transfer chemical weapons directly or indirectly to anyone.”

He also reported that, on June 15, 2023,Moscow’s forces were attacked by a drone carrying a container filled with chloropicrin, which is classified as a Schedule 3 compound under the Chemical Weapons Convention and is strictly prohibited– even for law enforcement purposes. The same chemical was also used by Kiev on August 3 and 11, 2023 near the village of Rabotino, according to Kirillov.

The general also provided several examples of Kiev using toxic substances against Russian military personnel, as well as poisoning high-ranking officials such as the head of Russia’s Kherson Region Vladimir Saldo in August 2022.

Kirillov said Russian intelligence believes that Ukraine’s forces, under the guidance of its Western backers, are developing a new military tacticthat would use a “chemical belt.” This would involveblowing up containers with hydrocyanic acid and ammonia to prevent an advance by Russian forces.

He added that plans for such a large-scale use of toxic chemicals were evidenced by the fact that Kiev had asked the EU to supply it with hundreds of thousands of antidotes, gas masks and other personal protective equipment in 2024.That’s in addition to 600,000 ampules of organophosphorus antidotes, and 750,000 bottles of drugs for the detoxification of mustard gas, lewisite and hydrocyanic acid derivatives that were supplied by NATO countries in 2023.

“It is obvious that the volumes requested by Ukraine are excessive for a country that does not have chemical weapons,” Kirillov stated.

There has been no response from the OPCW despite all of this evidence being presented to the organization four months ago, the general said, accusing it of being run by Washington as a tool to target its political opponents.

In November, Russia lost its seat on the OPCW Executive Council after failing to get enough votes from other members of the organization. Kirillov said Moscow was effectively “pushed out” of its seat and was replaced by Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania, who he claimed were pursuing an obvious anti-Russia policy.

Germany announces wide-ranging plans to restrict the speech, travel and economic activity of political dissidents, in order to better control the "thought and speech patterns" of its own people

After Germany’s defeat in 1945, Walter Ulbricht returned from exile in Moscow to become one of the founding politicians of the DDR. The new state, he said, “must look democratic, but we must have everything under control.” It has been 80 years since Ulbricht spoke those words, and while the DDR has faded away, their spirit lives on in the political establishment of the Federal Republic. Our present rulers are doing everything in their power to re-establish pseudodemocracy in the West. This is not a mere eugyppius exaggeration, and it is not sensationalism for internet clicks. It is what our politicians themselves are saying.

eugyppius: a plague chronicle is a reader-supported publication. maybe you subscribe?

As in the DDR, we hear that these antidemocratic measures are necessary to protect us from the threat posed by the right. The truth is much more mundane: Germany has one of the oldest party systems in Europe. As has already happened in many other countries, this post-war establishment is coming apart. While our neighbours have endured the rise of new parties and political structures with some measure of equanimity, our cartel politicians in Germany are terrified of losing power, and they will use all the tools at their disposal to keep hold of it – up to and including the suspension of democracy itself.

Alternative für Deutschland find themselves in the targets of our nominally democratic priesthood not because they are extremely right-wing, or racist, or xenophobic or anything like that. Politically, they’re hardly different from the CDU of the 1980s. Their real crime is having achieved enough strength to threaten the establishment ecosystem. The stronger AfD become, the harder it will prove for the reigning parties to form anti-AfD coalitions. Some of these parties, like the FDP, seem destined to disappear entirely; others, like the SPD, fear a future of permanent irrelevance. The once-dominant centre-right CDU, meanwhile, will find itself unable to form workable governments with partners on the left, and thus without any excuse not to enact the mild nationalism that a clear majority of voters demand, and that is so deeply out of fashion with our globalist rulers.

This is the purpose of the unceasing, astroturfed agitation “against the right” that the establishment have visited upon Germany for over a month now. The protests have not worked to destroy support for the AfD, so now they are being repurposed as a license to take enforcement action against “right-wing extremism.” Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) said at a press conference on Tuesday that the protests have given her both “encouragement” and a “mandate” to proceed against the right. “This really is a very positive signal,” she said, “because it is about defending our open society against its enemies. As a democracy on the defence, we must stand up to the extremists.”

Nancy Faeser

Faeser spoke these words in the course of announcing a range of measures via which she hopes to combat “right-wing extremism.” These are also outlined in a 16-page Interior Ministry paper on “Resolutely Combating Right-Wing Extremism: Using the Instruments of Defensive Democracy.” Here, it is important to note that Faeser is among the most unpopular politicians in all of Germany. Last year she suffered a humiliating defeat in her effort to become Minister President of Hessen, and 60% of Germans view her unfavourably. That is powerful motivation to bring German democracy back under control. Her “package of measures” to combat “the right” are some of the most openly antidemocratic, dictatorial policies I have ever seen any Western politician articulate. In other nations these kinds of things are surely said behind closed doors, but in Germany they are printed in all the major papers. You can only imagine what these people contemplate in secret.

Faeser and her fellow political enforcers have such a wide-ranging, fluid understanding of what “right-wing extremism” constitutes, that the label can be deployed against basically anybody. The Interior Ministry paper claims that “The aim of right-wing extremists is to abolish liberal democracy and reshape our society according to their nationalist, racist and anti-pluralist ideas.” You might think, “well, that’s okay then, I’m a pluralist liberal,” but that would be as naive as thinking you were safe from the Stasi because you were not a fascist. The same paper proceeds to complain that “the extremist … New Right … aims to discuss topics and use terms that give their inhuman plans a harmless appearance.” Translated from democratese: “There are people out there who are not saying anything illegal but they have made themselves inconvenient anyway.” The president of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Thomas Haldenwang, likewise spoke at the press conference of the tendency of “right-wing extremists” to “dress up and camouflage themselves.” They must “be unmasked and exposed … [as] enemies of our democracy.”

This construction of “right-wing extremism” as a cryptic, hidden quality that requires unveiling by the political police is unimaginably dangerous. You are never safe from a regime that thinks this way, because what you actually say, do or even believe doesn’t matter. You are guilty of “right-wing extremism” if Haldenwang’s office thinks you are. This flexibility is important, because the establishment are not actually interested in driving out zombie National Socialists. They want to neuter the political opposition, whatever its form or programme.

In what follows, therefore, you must remember that references to “right-wing extremism” are nothing but smears for political opponents. Likewise, resolutely uncharacterised and undefined references to “democracy” refer to nothing more than the establishment party system. When Faeser says that “we want to smash … right-wing extremist networks, we want to deprive them of their income, we want to take away their weapons,” she means that she wants to destroy and impoverish the people who disagree with her. When she says that “we want to use all the instruments of the rule of law to protect our democracy,” she means that she wants to use all the enforcement mechanisms available to the Interior Ministry to keep the opposition out of power.

Faeser, of course, was much more specific than that:

I would like to treat right-wing extremist networks in the same way as organised crime. Those who mock the state must have to deal with a strong state, which means consistently prosecuting and investigating every offence. This can be done not only by the police, but also by the regulatory authorities such as the catering or business supervisory authorities. Our approach must be to leave no stone unturned when it comes to right-wing extremists.

In the paper, too, there is much anger about the fact that “extremists … often mock the state and its institutions.” They must be taught to respect their betters, not only by police harassment, but by having their business and restaurant licenses revoked. The entire regulatory apparatus is to be repurposed for political enforcement.

The political police of the BfV must “intensify cooperation with state and local authorities,” which is another way of saying that they must more regularly inform local regulators of political misdeeds. Here it is not necessary that you be convicted of a specific crime to have your pub shut down. It is enough for the BfV simply to suspect you of “extremism.”

Faeser also wants to go after your bank account:

We must also uncover the financial links in right-wing extremist networks, in order to deprive them of their income. This is the principle of ‘follow the money.’ Operationally, we have significantly strengthened financial investigations at the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution. Banks are already being sensitised. Financial structures are being analysed in detail, but we are coming up against legal limits. At present, financial investigations are limited to incitement to hatred and violence. That is not enough. I therefore want to amend the law to ensure that the potential threat is taken into account. This involves other factors such as potential for action and social influence. We also need to make procedures faster and less bureaucratic. No one who donates to a right-wing extremist organisation should be able to rely on remaining undetected.

Faeser wants to change the law so that her Ministry can financially harass not only people who are suspected of “incitement to hatred and violence,” but also political opponents who merely exercise undue “social influence.” If you donate to an organisation that Faeser doesn’t like, she wants to publish your name and make you a target for state-affiliated paramilitary groups like Antifa. There is accordingly a great hue and cry from SPD and Green politicians to adopt their “Democracy Promotion Law,” which Renate Künast explicitly hopes will steer more funding to “Antifa groups” and other left-wing NGOs, many of which are heavily involved in ideological enforcement on behalf of the state.

Faeser is also angry that the political opposition can travel:

We are just as determined to restrict the international networking of right-wing extremists. Right-wing extremist hatred must neither be exported out of Germany nor imported into Germany. That is why we are working together with the relevant state authorities to prevent right-wing extremists from travelling in and out of the country as far as possible.

It’s great to know that one day I might find myself forbidden to leave Germany because of something I posted on the internet. This is just absolutely nuts.

Faeser also has big dreams of More Internet Censorship. To combat “hate crime,” she hopes to expand the “central reporting centre” of the Federal Police, so that they can intervene more actively on social media and “ensure the deletion of channels and content that are used to spread truly disgusting hate speech.” She is also establishing “an internal detection unit” to identify not only “disinformation,” but also internet “influence campaigns … so that we can put a stop to them”:

German right-wing extremists and foreign autocrats have something in common: they want to stir up anger and create divisions primarily through disinformation. This is done through lies, fake accounts and, in future, certainly even more so based on images or videos created using AI technology. ... That is why we are setting up a new early detection unit in the Federal Ministry of the Interior. We need to recognise manipulation and influence campaigns at a very early stage so that we can stop them.

After Faeser finished this long diatribe, the political-policeman-in-chief Haldenwang got to speak, and his words were just as disturbing. He demanded that we “rethink our approach” to “right-wing extremism,” because the “phenomenon” is experiencing a “change”:

The boundaries between previously ideologically defined camps … are becoming blurred, making it difficult to localise them precisely.

The only thing that has changed is Haldenwang’s perspective. He has adopted an entirely new understanding of “right-wing extremism,” namely one that embraces all non-establishment politics. When you begin to suspect one-fifth of your nation’s population of political crime, the boundaries indeed shift and it becomes quite hard to “localise” ideological malfeasance.

Thomas Haldenwang

Halendwang is thus very worried about what people are thinking. The project, as he sees it, is not only combatting “the willingness to use violence,” but also addressing “shifting verbal and mental boundaries.” Yes, this man has indeed assumed responsibility for policing what people think:

Right-wing extremists make use of the fears and experiences of crisis among the population in order to radicalise the political fringes and spread their agenda to the middle classes. We must be careful not to allow such thought and speech patterns to become part of our language.

He’s also very disturbed that people on the “New Right” go to conferences and give speeches:

In the spectrum of the New Right, we see networking endeavours that extend beyond the small circle of right-wing extremist intellectuals and also radiate into the parliamentary sphere. From there, there are established links at various levels to actors and organisations of other right-wing extremists. These are structural connections within a strategically operating network. This network is characterised by reciprocal invitations to events, interviews and guest contributions for online formats and meetings in the real world. ...

To summarise: “Right-wing extremists” are a nebulous and difficult-to-identify population of political subverters, who must be unmasked by the political police. This is necessary to control prevailing “thought and speech patterns” in Germany. Once these extremists have been identified by our guardians of orthodoxy, they are to be punished for their mockery of the state, and the regulatory apparatus is to be repurposed to deprive them of everything from income to bank accounts. Their names are to be published so that they can be more easily intimidated and harassed by state-adjacent organisations for their political views, and they are to be prevented from crossing borders and from associating with each other. This is a direct summary of things that a sitting German Interior Minister and one of her top bureaucrats actually said at a national press conference four days ago.

If the establishment succeeds via these measures in quashing the opposition, the Federal Republic of Germany will develop a politics not unlike the bloc party system of the old DDR. The bloc parties were mere satellites that governed in nominal partnership with the ruling Socialist Unity Party (SED), generally approving all SED proposals. While Germany would not have a clear ruling party like the SED, the freezing of the political ecosystem would formalise the present role of the Green Party as king-makers, and Green policies would become effectively impossible to vote against. This is clearly what our ruling establishment and the Green-adjacent state media hope to achieve.

To maintain such a system – and to make it resilient to undesirable electoral outcomes – it will prove necessary to insulate the political police from political oversight. Powerful people are already thinking about this, especially in the east, where AfD are so strong they have a serious chance of entering government after the September elections:

In view of the AfD’s possible electoral victory, [Stephan Kramer, head of the Thuringian Office for the Protection of the Constitution], warned that the security interests of the Federal Republic could be affected in the Bundestag and state parliaments. Precautions are therefore required to protect secret information.

“For example, it would be worth considering whether we should subject elected officials who want to work in particularly sensitive areas to a security check,” Kramer said ...”This must be regulated by law and, in my opinion, is more than appropriate given the security interests of the Federal Republic of Germany that are worth protecting.”

If the constitutional protectors are allowed to screen their own elected overseers, the transformation of Germany into a pseudodemocracy will be very nearly complete. The political police will select minders who are amenable to their enforcement programme, and thereby come to operate as semi-autonomous secret police. Establishment politicians, who depend upon the political police to keep the opposition at bay, will be inclined to expand their prerogatives to enforce the politics also of elected officials. The result will be a quiet coup that nobody quite notices until it is far too late to do anything about it.

Largest Covid Vaccine Study Yet Finds Links to Health Conditions

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/other/largest-covid-vaccine-study-yet-finds-links-to-health-conditions/ar-BB1iuvvi

(Bloomberg) - Vaccines that protect against severe illness, death and lingering long Covid symptoms from a coronavirus infection were linked to small increases in neurological, blood, and heart-related conditions in the largest global vaccine safety study to date.

The rare events — identified early in the pandemic — included a higher risk of heart-related inflammation from mRNA shots made by Pfizer Inc., BioNTech SE, and Moderna Inc., and an increased risk of a type of blood clot in the brain after immunization with viral-vector vaccines such as the one developed by the University of Oxford and made by AstraZeneca Plc.

The viral-vector jabs were also tied to an increased risk of Guillain-Barre syndrome, a neurological disorder in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the peripheral nervous system.

More than 13.5 billion doses of Covid vaccines have been administered globally over the past three years, saving over 1 million lives in Europe alone. Still, a small proportion of people immunized were injured by the shots, stoking debate about their benefits versus harms.

The new research, by the Global Vaccine Data Network, was published in the journal Vaccine last week, with the data made available via interactive dashboards to show methodology and specific findings.

Read More: Covid Test Failures Highlight Evolving Relationship With Virus

The research looked for 13 medical conditions that the group considered “adverse events of special interest” among 99 million vaccinated individuals in eight countries, aiming to identify higher-than-expected cases after a Covid shot. The use of aggregated data increased the possibility of identifying rare safety signals that might have been missed when looking only at smaller populations.

Myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart muscle, was consistently identified following a first, second and third dose of mRNA vaccines, the study found. The highest increase in the observed-to-expected ratio was seen after a second jab with the Moderna shot. A first and fourth dose of the same vaccine was also tied to an increase in pericarditis, or inflammation of the thin sac covering the heart.

Safety Signals

Researchers found a statistically significant increase in cases of Guillain-Barre syndrome within 42 days of an initial Oxford-developed ChAdOx1 or “Vaxzevria” shot that wasn’t observed with mRNA vaccines. Based on the background incidence of the condition, 66 cases were expected — but 190 events were observed.

ChAdOx1 was linked to a threefold increase in cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, a type of blood clot in the brain, identified in 69 events, compared with an expected 21. The small risk led to the vaccine’s withdrawal or restriction in Denmark and multiple other countries. Myocarditis was also linked to a third dose of ChAdOx1 in some, but not all, populations studied.

Possible safety signals for transverse myelitis — spinal cord inflammation — after viral-vector vaccines were identified in the study. So was acute disseminated encephalomyelitis — inflammation and swelling in the brain and spinal cord — after both viral-vector and mRNA vaccines.

Seven cases of acute disseminated encephalomyelitis after vaccination with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine were observed, versus an expectation of two.

The adverse events of special interest were selected based on pre-established associations with immunization, what was already known about immune-related conditions and pre-clinical research. The study didn’t monitor for postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, or POTS, that some research has linked with Covid vaccines.

Exercise intolerance, excessive fatigue, numbness and “brain fog” were among common symptoms identified in more than 240 adults experiencing chronic post-vaccination syndrome in a separate study conducted by the Yale School of Medicine. The cause of the syndrome isn’t yet known, and it has no diagnostic tests or proven remedies.

The Yale research aims to understand the condition to relieve the suffering of those affected and improve the safety of vaccines, said Harlan Krumholz, a principal investigator of the study, and director of the Yale New Haven Hospital Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation.

“Both things can be true,” Krumholz said in an interview. “They can save millions of lives, and there can be a small number of people who’ve been adversely affected.”

REMEMBER: Democrats demanded fines, imprisonment, quarantine camps, and taking children away from those who would not consent to the experimental covid injections.

Never Forget.

There were evil people in society who demanded that intelligent people who refused to take the dangerous experimental covid injections should be denied all medical care. There were patients needing transfusions, organ transplants, and other critical medical procedures for REAL problems that were denied medical care by evil doctors and hospital administrators. Democrats DEMANDED that those innocent people should be forced to suffer and die. Never ever forget who those evil people are. Blue voters did that. The media puppets did that. "Influencers" did that. Absolutely evil.

Don't let them get away with it. Rub their noses in their shit everyday and everywhere. Evil wants YOU to ignore it all and simply move on. To allow it and do nothing. Evil refuses to face accountability.

We looked at the facts and we made a wise decision.

For that we were viciously attacked all day everyday by both evil scumbags and their brainwashed gullible followers.

The sudden death of Alexei Navalny has made me more and more aware of what is happening in our Country. It is a slow, steady progression, with CROOKED, Radical Left Politicians, Prosecutors, and Judges leading us down a path to destruction. Open Borders, Rigged Elections, and Grossly Unfair Courtroom Decisions are DESTROYING AMERICA. WE ARE A NATION IN DECLINE, A FAILING NATION! MAGA2024
