Nathan the Narwhal and Finn the Fish made fun of Edgar the elephant.
"Haha! Edgar and his family live in a swamp! We live in a water paradise."
Edgar groaned and said, "Stop hurting me! I just want to play."
Edgar could easily hold in his tears, unlike his sister Ellie.
Ellie cried, "WAAAAAA! Mommy, they don't want to play with me either.
"Edgar's mother, Ethel the elephant, approached and yelled, "You are making fun of us because we are different!"
Ethel gasped and blew her trunk, "Golly gosh! My trumpling sniffers. What did I just say?"
Finn the fish was seen chuckling with Beatrice the beaver.
Finn the fish said, "Bea! You're hilarious."
Ralph the raccoon walked by. "Eww, get off my balcony, you filth!" said both Finn and Beatrice.
Ethel said, "That doesn't make any sense."
Nathan said, "Look at Bea's home. We went there on vacation. It was awesome."
Ethel took Edgar home.
Edgar said, "Mommy! We have to build up to their level."
That was exactly what they did. The elephant enforcers who had accepted bonuses from Courtney the cockroach for trespassing charges were punished. Elephant magistrates were appointed to protect the property of the elephants who hoarded the most resources. Elephants who gathered food were pushed into other jobs, and smarter elephants invented machines so there was more than enough for everyone. Space was freed up for other professions with the help of the farmers' machines. Elephants had more children, the elephants who had fled returned, and all elephants contributed some of their money. They did this so future generations would have a civilization to be proud of and wealth attached to their identity.
Years later…
Nathan's mom, Natalie, said, "Let's go on vacation."
Nathan was super excited. He had been obsessing over elephant culture and loved the movies they made. They headed to the destination, and he saw the locals. He met Edgar the elephant.
Nathan said, "Hi! I'm Nathan. You're so civilized."
Nathan and Edgar became the best of friends, finding many things in common, including shared civic values.
Edgar introduced Ellie to Nora. Nora was now more comfortable around Ellie.
On culture day, Edgar proudly stated where he was from.
