If the US helps Iran plant even more sea mines in the Strait, then EU natural gas price will go up another 60% (compared to US nat.gas only up 10%).
Relatively speaking, the EU is the big loser from all this, and the US is only moderately harmed, because the US produces massive amounts of oil & gas and makes more money when the price goes up.
Blow up Kharg refineries, fill Hormuz with sea mines, "Let the goyim EU deal in the real world", and then call it a day and dust our hands of the whole affair.
