The bad jews like Pharisees in the past worked with the bad roman emperor's like Caligula or nero (who would rape little boys and throw them off a cliff- read suetonius). Jesus or Christianity basically took over the roman empire but the rome want to survive as instead became the catholic church. They literally did change or even add verses in the new testament. But the verse that everyone quotes about turning the other cheek does not mean what people think its a translation error. Basically back then the roman leaders would slap you and if they particularly disliked you they would slap you with the dirty hand. Thats the hand they would use to wipe their behinds and such with. What Jesus was actually saying is if you have to be slapped by the roman emperor or whoever turn the other cheek so they are forced to slap you with the clean hand.
The bad "jews" were also heavily involved in the byzantine empire as well particularly justinian politics. Thats when they basically invented the modern two party system (where they get each side to fight each other and constantly manipulate).
