I honestly don’t get why Washington banned NVIDIA from selling AI GPUs to Chinese companies 🤨

I mean, Chinese companies have always had gray-market channels across Asia to buy NVIDIA GPUs anyway. These restrictions just make things more expensive—it’s not like they can actually stop the purchases lol.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to just let them stay hooked on American GPUs? 😂
They only last, what, five years tops under heavy use? You could always cut them off later, if a real conflict ever seems likely.
And come on…Trump knows China’s history. He even talked about the “century of humiliation.” So why push them now toward self-reliant tech? Makes zero sense.
Example time: Microsoft’s Windows system. Everyone in China uses it. Mic knows most civilian users run pirated versions 😏
Honestly, they’ve kinda encouraged it. Why? Because average folks in China can’t afford the legit ones.
By letting them use pirated activation codes, Microsoft grows its market share and keeps people locked into its ecosystem. ╮(﹀_﹀”)╭
So why doesn’t Washington DC do the same thing?
