OP, I would also try conveying it's not just about privacy but protecting information and media in the age of oppressive censorship and "woke" cancel culture. We can all do our part warding off censorship by having multiple offline backups of important information, our favorite media and useful software. I've used Bitchute and Rumble to re-post censored videos from Youtube before, it's nothing hard to do and you don't need to be a neckbeard to figure that shit out.

McAfree was proposing a Peer2Peer WWW based on WiFi 2 WiFi.

I'd bet that is very doable today with Smart Phones that all do 100mbs and have 500Gb memory.

I'd also fig (((The Govt))) might do apeshit to combat it. Cops would all have "pirate" transmission detectors and it would be felony.

IMO it will be the warefare stage after cheap Chinese killer drones.

There's a new-ish purely peer-to-peer (using Bluetooth, not internet) social network called "Bitchat" released by Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter.

I'd also like to make an Open Sores "pirate" Peer2Peer Social Media platform that would use "Fair Use" to scrape all the big commerical sites for only the best stuff. Just have a few agents scraping all posts from Twitter, Facebook, etc, then have bots figure out WTF has been censored or shadowbanned, and re-publish it.

Also run a censorship proof P2P social media site. IMO that could be done Fone2Fone. Have a constantly updating catalog on everyone's phone that might be 10G of data, and it would turn on when you get free WiFi, but that would be just catalog of hottest posts. Then you click on the small data teaser thumbnail to get full version.

It would quickly become the hot hip "OMG!" place where all the kids would go, and only stuffy dumb old folks and corp drones would be on Facebook and Twitter.

Neat thing is, unlike in old days, it would only take one or two smart guys to write the app, then have it spread P2P, by passing Google and Apple stores. I don't even understand how Google and Apple can ban apps and have that matter. Do they got something locked down so no one can write an app that works on their phones without some "key" permission? I don't know shit, but seems I've heard of guys writing apps and they are just freelancers.
