US Govt Finally Backing Away From Disastrous Failed Ukraine Proxy War Fiasco???

The US is halting Pentagon Section 333 funding for training and equipping Eastern European militaries on the frontline against Russia.

The Baltic states would face significant challenges without US security aid, amid Moscow-linked attacks on critical infrastructure, cyberattacks, and sabotage.

The US is reviewing global troop deployments and plans to reduce its military presence in Europe.

Meanwhile, the United States has WALKED OUT of a meeting in Paris of the group calling itself the "Coalition of the Willing" concerning Ukraine.

US Special Representative Steve Witkoff got up and walked out only twenty minutes into the meeting, according the the Elysee Palace. Apparently, the subject matter was immediately so devoid of reality, so untenable there was no sense in Witkoff remaining. Witkoff will return after the Europeans call President Trump.

As recently as yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin publicly made clear that Russia will not allow foreign troops into Ukraine - either as part of the ongoing conflict or as part of any peace plan. Moreover, Putin explicitly stated that if Russia's goals in their Special Military Operation "cannot be achieved Diplomatically, they will be achieved militarily."

For some reason, Ukraine and its European supporters seem unable to grasp that Russia will get what Russia demands, or Russia will impose the demands by force.

The Europeans seem to think that what they are doing with their military assistance to Ukraine, matters. Clearly, the Russians see otherwise.

At this point, Russia is undeniably winning on the battlefield, and as such, has no reason to compromise its goals.

The fact that US Special Representative Witkoff walked out of the meeting after only 20 minutes today, does not bode well for the Ukraine situation to be settled Diplomatically.

The US is to phase out security assistance programmes for European armies along Russia’s border, as it pushes the continent to pay for more of its own defence.

Pentagon officials last week informed European diplomats that the US would no longer fund programmes that train and equip militaries in eastern European countries that would be on the frontline of any conflict with Russia, people familiar with the matter said.

Spending for the Pentagon programme, which falls under an authority known as section 333, must be agreed by the US Congress, but the Trump administration has not requested more money. Funds already approved will be available until the end of September 2026.

A White House official said the move aligned with President Donald Trump’s efforts to “re-evaluate and realign” foreign aid, and corresponded with an executive order he issued on his first day in office.

“This action has been co-ordinated with European countries in line with the executive order and the president’s long-standing emphasis on ensuring Europe takes more responsibility for its own defence,” the official said.
