I love the culture and freedom and land of my home state of Maine, but the hordes of hiveminded hysterical liberals moving her keep inventing new taxes on fucking everything and raising all the old taxes. The liberals took my raise my boss gave me last year, and now after all the taxes I am taking home less than minimum wage. It's just an economic hamster wheel that goes nowhere that the liberals keep increasing the speed on.
I'm trying to leave to a place that is still kind of cold and still has four seasons, but I've been so poor all my life I've never had time or money to leave to even know what the rest of the world feels like. Last time I left Maine was to go to a hospital in Boston 5 years ago.
What is this area in Wyoming and South Dakota like? What is the land like? Are there still four seasons? Are people generally "live and let live" type of folk? This says there is no income tax, so do they just come up with a zillion taxes on other things there? Are there public gun ranges? I just want to work a simple, honest job and save for my future.

I am from Iowa and finally visited Maine recently after wanting to for about 10 years.
Believe me when I say this, find a way to make it work and stay in Maine. I have been in all parts of the West including Wyoming and SoDak. You absolutely do not want to live there! I’m looking to move to Maine myself, you have absolutely no fucking idea how good you have it. The landscape is beautiful, the water is clean, the state is just under 90% white, the culture and attitude is amazing. I was so envious when I was there and it makes my heart ache to be away from it. I set my alarm clock to a loon call to at least get a piece of it before I start another hellish day in the midwest, for fucks sake man get ahold of yourself!!!!

bump thread, I'm recently retired with about $40k SSI and Pension, so I could buy a cheap house in a place and be NEET.
I'm open to any area across USA, currently in SF bay area but $40K is not much, but I could still work making about $30/hr "warm body" Security like I just quit because it would reduce my SSI and I'd be working for about $15/hr.
