I'll start by explaining why "The Playground" is not (one type of) a honeypot. There's 2 types of honeypot websites. The kind where the police take over an existing criminal operation and the kind where police make an entirely new fake website.
The former kind is what happened to the two darknet CP sites like Playpen and Childs Play. The FBI and other police organizations took them over after catching the owners. By definition this kind of honeypot means that the website was legitimate and was mostly populated by real people at one point.
In order for a honeypot to catch people, they have to be able to find it. If the police make a brand new site as a honeypot, it will start off with zero people on it. So, they have to make it so people are able to find it. This site doesn't appear in searches. It isn't being advertised by spam anywhere (unlike some CP groups). The honeypot can't catch people, if they can't find the honeypot.
It also doesn't look like the sort of shoddy scam or phishing website where you are prompted to download malware.
So, it's impossible for that site to be the second kind of honey pot. The FBI did not make "The Playground".
