The bill of rights is badly named: it is not a list of rights granted to the individual from the government. The bill of rights are the enumerated rights retained by the individual delegated to the government by the citizens so it can govern. The government doesn't have rights the citizens do.
Everything wrong with America today is because people don't understand how the constitution works and the government has overstepped it's bounds. If you want to remove an individual right you must FIRST take it away from the government.
Also: Article 1, Section 8, Clause 12 of the constitution only authorizes funding a federal standing army for a period of 2 years during time of war. The current federal standing army is Illegal and has actively destroyed America by serving the corporations and banks since the end of the Spanish American war in 1900.
Even without the federal standing military (which does nothing but shit on the constitution and facilitate wealth extraction from the US) the American citizens have more guns than the rest of the first world militaries combined. We don't need DoD, they cause nothing but problems.
