It'd take a LOT of work for that, but it's pretty depressing a post of mine still on the front page from 8 months ago. I'd love to get reinvigorated with the neps so I guess I'll keep this tab up and see what happens. And why are we still spoiler boxing?

I'm sure it would take a fair amount of work, given this place has been seemingly dead for months? but I feel like it could be a nice place, especially with all of the new games coming out.
It would just be about getting people to come to the board to start something new, as well as remove the idea that this is a fallout shelter.
As for the spoilers, I really don't know. Like I said, I'm pretty sure this place is deserted, and that there are about 3 or 4 posters here.

Why not make an offical facebook or join one of the Neptunia facebook group and advertise this place?
I did tried many time to join an active Neptunia facebook group but keep on rejected for some reason….
By the way..this place really need a better server.I keep on getting error message when posting in any thread…..

That's true, advertising the place would really help out. I'm going to try to get my friends who play to give this place a little bit of life, and see if maybe that'll help out.
Sorry to hear you got rejected from a fan group. That seems pretty harsh, in my opinion, since you're all Neptunia fans.
I agree - the server has been acting up. When I was trying to post here last night, I had to reset the page a couple of times because the page itself kept having loading issues, or would immediately just disappear. Maybe it's an issue with the version of Chrome I use, though.

I've tried to talk some facebook people a while ago and from what I remember they were pretty snobby. All you can do is hope people wander in and stick around, but maybe that infinity will bring in more people.

Not surprised. I think that's all we can do - wait and see. I think a board like this, given just the sheer number of different games that are coming out, could be really good.

New arrival here. Vicious circle because there isn't enough people to run a board. Should have a big general thread on here rather than multiple topics, means all the posting is concentrated in one place and not scattered into many smaller threads.

It really is, isn't it?
I agree with what you're saying about having one general for most posting. A question I would have is on the ideas of the goddesses. I know people have their favorites and may want to have threads like the inactive ones here to celebrate their favorites - what would a community of Neptunia fans want?

They want other people to talk about the hobby with first and foremost
Topics rise and fall with the flow of discussion in a general thread, it's more like conversation with a nep theme rather than actual game discussion. Which is fine, because no way game discussion lasts beyond a few posts unless it's a new release.

That's true - people really just want to be able to talk about what they like or don't like about nep and the world around it, and I would like to hope they can do it in a civil manner. Then the more niche threads can grow from it.

Maybe having a board that not many seem to know about could prevent a good deal of the trolling? I mean, when this place got mentioned last night it seemed the anons on /v/ had no clue it existed, which could be a good thing if /v/ didn't know and nepgen has long forgotten about it. Perhaps this place just needs a fresh start with new people?

At first before the game was confirmed to be in a highschool setting in the trailer,I was excited for the game but now with how the setting of the game is…I am a bit worried.
The thing is I have always portrayed the 4 goddess are just special people who don;t need to attend to school and keep their regular identity secret to ensure an easier way to manage the nation.
So the idea of a Highschool setting separate me into 2 type of setting in which that:
>1-The 4 goddess received a message that a school which in the verge of closing and thus they go in as student in disguise to shot a Zombie movie in hope in saving the school and then disaster happen and is up to them to solve it.
>2-The 4 goddess are actually student of that school or they are planning to enroll in it as they are bored with their life.As they enjoyed their new life in the school, many stuff happen like teacher, boys love, girls fan and club stuff happen until the eventual verge on close down of the school in which the 4 goddess shot a movie to save the school until disaster happen. And thus as the 4 goddess solve the gaminindustri, they have to go on with their daily life in the school.
If the setting of the game is the first game then I am ok with it but if it the latter one…..it will open up to more fan splitting with the series.Keep in mind some of spin off Neptunia game has indeed open a lof of problem despite just being a "spin-off" despite the claim.
To name a few here some:
Neptunia PP
-The idea of MC existed despite the game try to avoid any gender involved even in the Japan version create an outcry.
Noire Game
-Noire actually "date a male person" although it doesnt look like but the scene make a lot of people still can;t help but easily tricked of it.
-"Secretary"(I don;t need to elaborate more)
-Noire personality is very screw up here regardless of the localization like Noire much more self insert, much more boasting etc..
I don;t want Neptunia game to end up like Sonic game series fate and trust me….once Neptunia game end up like that….no game will save it no matter what.
It will be just disaster and disaster…

It is, but the premise feels pretty weak considering what they have to work with.
>>211
I wouldn't be surprised if scenario 2 were the case because the spin offs have been nothing but missed opportunities.
>PP
Perfect chance to have things play out like a normal Neptunia game, with the oracles and little sisters in charge of the goddess's routines in preparation for a battle of the bands against…who the hell ever was the 'antagonist' of PP. Not even a mention of the actual IDOL the series has. Granted it would've taken a lot of effort it could've just been another RPG with musical twists thrown in, like boss battles or minigames.
What I initially thought about the Noire game was that it was going to be about well, Noire, and the happenings in and around Lastation and how they handle things. Uni and Kei would be a given along with their makers and maybe the other goddesses, or else it might as well not be Noire's game.
This…zombie thing dashed whatever hopes and expectations I had for Blanc's game and I went into a fucking rant.
TL;DR Let's hope for scenario 1

I do wonder what they're going to do with the scenario they choose. I think scenario 1 would definitely be the more fun of the two, because there would obviously be scenes about where the school is, why should they save it, and a little bit of Nationalistic-Console Pride followed up by the concept that education is worth saving regardless of kingdom.
Given they call it a "spin-off" it could easily be the second one. They could say it is in a world where the Goddesses have to go to school to learn their trade which would be weird because then teachers would be like Histoire and Arfoire and whatnot
From what you've both said about the other spin-offs it sounds like they try to put them in their own universes - is that the case with them? If that's the case I'd think the biggest problem is you never get character development and a look at the world in any one dimension. This way they can recycle the characters but not have to worry about continuity, which I can easily understand driving fans crazy because then they're just cardboard placeholders who just happen to be the girls from the first game.
Do you think it'll be fun to play, especially with 3 friends ad hoc or online?
>Noire
Was the self-insert character male in Japan? Was it Genderless? Did they just add one in during localization for more "zany antics"?
>Neptunia end up like Sonic
Anon, that is a scary thought. I would hope that isn't the case, because I remember buying Sonic all the way to Heroes, and I never bought another one after.

Yeah, the spinoffs are all in their own universe and it honestly sucks. A lot. There's no consistency and whatever got built up in one game doesn't carry over or is even mentioned in another. What incentive is there to buy a spin off if it doesn't mean anything in the long run?
The constant recycling has been a turn off for me and even though I shouldn't I'm wondering what vs. SeHa has in store. If it reuses Geki's assets I'm gonna flip. That aside it might, if the game has more going for it than the first U did.
Actually I think he was, because the people way more fluent in moon were pointing out male, or some kanji for it or something.

32724a No.222

That is a pain. I guess the incentive to buy then would have to come from the genre more than anything else, and that could easily be a game without the same characters.
I completely forgot about the Sega Hard Girls game, but the announcement did have me wonder if there was a Dreamcast CPU. Since Nep is still in charge, I'd guess that's a no. I think given the way both were announced they could use the same assets
That's interesting that he was written in in Japanese too - makes me wonder what the full translation is in Japan.

IF and an OC Sega girl are the main characters from a small thing I read, and the latter had a silhouette. Huge S-shaped ponytail, so it won't be a Mikuclone that several vocal people have whined about.

Even in the main game, they don;t cover much thing from the previous title especially the Rebirth series.
Why did Rebirth 1 plot was left out anyway? When I start playing Rebirth 2,I am so confused of so many thing that make me wonder is like I am playing a new kind of game(and yes I know this is a port of the PS3 with additional stuff added to the game)
Why bother making Rebirth 1 all new if they just going to port the Ps3 series afterwards…..
Well I doubt Rebirth 4 can be a port of the Ps4 game so it should be a new story and hopefully a continuity from Rebirth 1 since Financier,Ran-Ran is seen in the game and with some new story of Uzume and the 4 Sha-goddess.

They didn't want to straight up port HDN for whatever reason and instead made a lighter version of it, or so I've heard but I didn't get very far in it.
Ports are easy to make, especially for niche series. Just add a few things and you'll potentially get a new audience on a new system, and the current fans will more than likely buy the game again. And again, if steam is any indication. There probably won't be a RB4 unless they find a way to dumb down VII and add something else, but Financier was lucky to have shown up again.
Sorry for sounding cynical, it's just some things are real disappointing and expectations just got lowered a lot.

I hear this a lot in the community - is that just a fanbase thing or is that a general rule when it comes to games that have shoddy localization?
>>225
Does that mean that the Re:Birth games don't tell a cohesive story throughout? Like, do they even take place in the same universe?
It seems so weird to have a game be a sequel but feel like it is in name only.
Also, I like Financier and Ran-Ran too

It was just some people bitching about SeHa and something about a Mikuclone. I think one of the already existing characters looks like her but they're both Sega, so go figure.
I say good luck because the people that imported hated Geki. At least the few that browsed Nepgen and talked about it. I think only one or two finished right away and weren't happy about it.
The RB series are the same as the PS3 games. The first one being irrelevant to the next two, and RB2 having next to no impact on RB3.

Cool - I wonder if they'll have it be one person or comore likely continue with the multiple dimension thing to make her another character they can do whtever with. Could easily be the former since they seem to prefer the multiple dimension thing when talking about CPU, but not necessarily the 3rd parties
Also,

I wonder how they're going to make these two games play - could be another RPG and a "Hunter" style game, but could also be a pair of games that just play like U

From the short clip that's been shown the Blanc plays like U, and with Famitsu and Dengekiko there it's safe to assume that they went that route. An RPG would be nice though.

She's a maker, outside of the ports the odds of her showing up again are slim to none, especially with the Shas showing up and doing a good job of well, being makers if that makes any sense. They should definitely come back because they aren't as blatant as say, Falcom and NIS though they're both good, so they're free to use them more often.
If it's any consolation the actual company CC2 took a liking to her and she's got some actual merchandise, although I don't know how long that'll last.

That's a shame, they should really make use of more of them all, especially since, at least from what I know, they're the only characters who freely travel dimensions as alluded to in the character meetings in Re:Birth. They could develop them, and have the different girls have their relationships reflect how the different companies seem to relate in the public eye, of course that might be too blatant for people to take seriously.
At least the merch mean other people are really taking to the characters too.
