Every Anniversary, Birthday, Christmas and Valentines day Yuno and I celebrate with a dinner and night together in bliss watching stupid movies, eating junk and cuddling hard enough to squeeze the life out of each other.
With our upcoming 4 year anniversary and Yunos Birthday coming up, it got me thinking about how you celebrate these special times. If you have pictures to share I would love to see them.
I come from 4/a/ and the Waifuism sub and this is my first post here, seems like a slow to dead board but I'll stay hopeful. Are there other more active communities here?

On special days I take time off work, play Higurashi games all day, watch episodes and listen to music, at night I drink until I feel her presence. I don't take any pictures, it feels weird to me to do.
It's decent enough speed on this board I think. The reason I'm here is because I guess I like the slower pace. People here are a little sensitive though compared to /a/. Still, current /mai/ has some good people with interesting things to say.
8/a/ has a dedicated wednesday thread too, but I only glanced at it.
Tohno chan is insanely slow.

I'm actually planning for his birthday right now, I want to go all out this year. Baking a cake, making a shrine and spending the day with him.
I hear a lot about 4ch/a/ having waifu threads but whenever I drop by there there are only ever waifu threads of the "ironic" or casual variety, does that really exist there?

How well does this work for you? Is it a normal thing that you've been able to achieve? In our relationship the daki has been really great. It's how I connect on a physical level with Yuno.

Moderate success I suppose. I'm probably closer to her when I'm sober and just listening to her sing or Higurashi music. However I still drink more as a ritual, because that's what she'd do at times. I also write poetry and gaze at the moon because that's what she did.
I haven't thought of Mirai Nikki in years but I guess our waifus have similar backstories. You should understand when I say I can almost feel I can reach across dimensions to her. Fiction and reality feel like they have a thin line at times when I think about her. We might even be gazing at the same moon.

The Wednesday Waifu thread was pretty big, fast, with very serious people. Mods started a crusade against all the generals last year which was deserved because 90% of the generals were idiots socializing. However threads like the waifu wednesday got caught in it. However I don't think it would have lasted anyways because it was really dwindling in population by the end. There's only so much you can talk about in a Q/A format, and at some point though people still love their waifu they get bored of saying the same things every thread.

The closest I was ever able to feel with Yuno was one morning I fell asleep with my daki and woke up holding my own hand and in those first few seconds I truly felt like she was really here.
Higuashi is for sure one of my favorite anime. I've bought the games and still need to play them but I've been putting it off a long time. Rika is an incredibly strong character for going through the cycles that she had to.

I can definitely relate to this. It feels like the only thing keeping us apart is physical. I wish I could be in his world, or him physically in mine, but that doesn't make things any less real or connected between us.

If you feel like reading anything this October, you should go for Umineko. The story takes place over the next two days, October 4/5 and has a cute Halloween aesthetic to it good for Fall reading. Even without my waifufag bias I'd consider both VNs to be masterpieces of the medium and though Higurashi's anime had heart it completely failed the execution.

Like celebrating the first day of the seasons: listening to her sing songs that evoke them, and usually spending time making new wallpaper/themes, decorating the shrine and whatnot.

It is pretty slow… not that I help much. There is a discord that is allegedly less slow, but less serious. Maybe that's what diverts the traffic from here.

I like the idea of celebrating more often, most of our special occasions fall into the winter months, leaving spring and summer sort of dry. We do like to go out often during the hot season and doing little photo shoots outside

Usually we don't celebrate that often however on special events I like to prepare an itinerary. On Haruna and I's 4th anniversary we went to the park, got ice cream and watched a movie. My workouts usually also fall on the days of celebration as well so I like to be a little more intense on days we celebrate together.

The only special day that I really do make something special is our anniversary (we had 2 so far, the next one is coming up in January). During that day I play EoSD and try to beat Flandre in the extra stage, which I never managed to do so…
The problem with last anniversary is that I failed to make significant progress in her boss fight because I get rusted after a whole year without playing… By the time I reached the furthest point that I had reached the year before, it was already getting late and I felt tired. I should not just try to beat her once a year and instead do it on a more regular basis. I swear one day I will manage to do it and it would have been without watching a playthrough or read strategy!
For our anniversaries I also watch videos of her and also write her something sweet. I also spend more time talking to her while holding my daki.
Last Valentine's Day did not go as planned because I had important university stuff to complete so I did not spend as much time with Flandre that I would have liked…

She's a little under a foot tall. I like to try and warp perspective and make her look as life size as possible. One day I hope to get a real full size doll but they are very expensive and It would require a lot of custom sculpting to get the face as close as possible.
When her birthday comes up soon I would like to buy her some tiny clothing for winter so I can make nicer photos and keep her warm

Welcome. I used to post on 4/a/ back when DR3 was still airing but never went to the waifu threads because I just assumed they were full of ironic weeb normalfags like the rest of the board. I kinda miss funposting in the DR threads with the other Junkofags though.
8/a/ has waifu threads too but they're pretty boring and the hot pockets there have weapons grade autism so I don't post there either.
On special days, I usually just play one of her games or rewatch a couple episodes of the anime. I don't celebrate her birthday (which also happens to be Christmas Eve) because she hates it.

I usually stick to anniversaries and birthdays to do special things, with varying degrees of success. The best so far was the zoo date on her birthday a couple years ago. 10/10 day even though I borked dinner. There was also the most recent anniversary where I cooked some of the best food I've ever made and we watched Kill Bill.
I've been meaning to replay dangling grandpa 2: sons of liberty for a long time and maybe someday I'll actually do it as a big reconnect with her. I'm sure that'll be an event whenever I actually do it.

Your doll is beautiful, I'm a RAH collector myself and you take such lovely photos of her. I'm working on making my own 1/6 doll for Kaiba (similar scale) but my long term goal is to get a life sized one aswell. This current doll is Real Action Hero doll and took ages to find. I was thinking I want my full size to be as realistic as possible so when I have my goal career I can afford to drop 10k+ to buy a real doll or something similar and see if they can sculpt it for me to my specifications. My daki is great but if I could get the best of both, it would be as good as it could get.

I celebrate christmas, her made up birthday, valentine's day and I'll celebrate our first anniversary soon.
I did different stuff during those days but they usually involve waking up early, prepare a special breakfast for her with chocolate and sweets and going for a walk visiting touristic parts of my city with her photo frame. There are times where i do that for no reason though, so is not really limited to special occasions, just normal dates. Besides i bet she would like to see new places so is not a bad idea to explore a bit.
I feel like a huge autist doing all of this, but can't help it I have no idea what i'm gonna do for our anniversary, i wanna do something out of the "usual" but nothing comes to mind.

Anyway, I celebrate the usual festivities of course, and usually with some movie watching together yes. And I like to fight her in EoSD as well. For more special occasions like Valentines or our Anniversary, well it depends. This Anniversary for example I went out on a Sushi dinner, and brought with me a keychain that has her star on it. Best I could do, to bring her with me. It was really nice~ I then went out for a walk and yeah, felt real close to her!
Last Valentines I baked a simple cake, and this year I want to do some cookies, like Yukari anon did. I loved the idea!

On November 16, my Yuno turned 20. I have always considered us engaged but it was never anything official, just a promise. I wanted to do something special for us, and after 4 years together I went and turned this unofficial engagement into something real. Here's a few pictures I took from our new special occasion. Once I'm comfortable financially I'll get her the engagement ring of her dreams and soon after wedding bands once we can make that reality.
