Actually gonna amend this. Add 1/2 part simple syrup and replace the orange slice with a pickled plum. The salty sourness of the plum and the syrupy sweetness of the grenadine contrast very nicely and pari well with the sweet sugar of the rim against the double dryness of cognac and flavored cognac. The lemon juice brings the contrasting elements together and makes it a much more harmonious drink. I would say this sidecar variation is perfect for spring weather and sipping outside under a tree.

I drank 4 quarts of some shitty trashwine I brewed out of cran-apple juice, sugar, and yeast Friday night.
I drank it too soon, and the yeast were still alive and active, so Saturday morning, when I woke up underneath my bed, I was sick to my stomach.

So I spaced out on documenting brewing the musk and only remembered to start documenting the distillation after I was almost finished. I stopped pulling the headers too early and ended up with an acetone/rubbing alcohol after taste with this batch. I took two jars of it and added in some hard pears I skinned and sliced. I will wait until Christmas week to pull the fruit and use it for baking. Filter the alcohol, blend with simple syrup and spices and I will have the booze for my Eggnog.
Considerations have been made to purchase a waterheater and modify it into a 50 gallon fractional reserve distiller. Besides the obvious advantage of being able to distill more than three cups of spirits at a time as I do now, I would also be able to produce a far cleaner alcohol.

I would like to make the perfect lychee martini with you guys. We can start with a basic recipe and work from there.
1 1/2 oz of standard/premium vodka
3/4 oz of lychee liqueur (preferably Soho)
a dash of sweet vermouth
1 lychee fruit for garnish
If too sweet, reduce the lychee liqueur to 1/2.
Stir the vodka and lychee liqueur together in a mixing glass. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Add a dash of sweet vermouth. Garnish with lychee fruit.
Very simple drink. Is it fine how it is or would you like to make improvements? Perhaps suggest a lychee liqueur that most people wouldn't know about? Soho is a French-made liqueur imported by the USA, and therefore fairly popular here.
