1. Go to https://retroshare.cc/downloads.html
2. Download Retroshare (Portable, 64 bits, Tor executable included) Qt5, Portable
3. What you download is an archive with the 7z extension, meaning it needs to be extracted (with 7zip https://7-zip.org/ for example), extract to a folder of your choice.
4. Start retroshare.exe, choose Node type: "Hidden node (over Tor)" ←- this is very important, always use Tor!
5. Pick a username and pw.
6. Retroshare should start now. On the welcome screen, aka "Home", you can add friends by clicking on "Add friend". You need to paste a friend certificate there. You can find lots of friends in https://8kun.top/hypno/res/83085.html. You need friends for RS to work properly, you won't be able to find files/forums if you don't have friends.
7. After you have added a couple friends and everything has been synced (which might take a while), you can also join the /hypno/ forum under "Forum", people post their certificates over there as well.
8. To be save, only add people as friends who use Tor (you can see their .onion address when adding them) and as a reminder: you should also always use Tor yourself.
9. Some people like to openly share files with their friends. You can find those under "Files"->"Friends files", you can browse their shared folders there.
10. You can also search for files in "Files"->"Search". This search will also show files from people who you are not directly friends with, but from people who may be a couple hops away.
11. You can configure your shared directories in "Preferences"->"Files"->"Configure Shared Directories"
