Bismuth levitation?

I thought about changing the thread title to manmade flying saucers but this way the thread is more generalized for alternative propulsion.

>>108

Bismuth is diamagnetic which means it repels magnets. The magnetic field of the magnet is repelled from the bismuth just like the same pole of another magnet which induces magnetic levitation. See this thread >>48

i have been working on a chair that captures farts.

The farts then get compressed and flows in to a directional nossel.

This compressed fart gas is the ignited by a 24V electronic sparker and the released energy can propel my chair to the mini fridge.

So far i have only been able to do one trips.

Even with a highly bean enriched diet i have been unable to obtain enough fart propellant for a 2 way trip.

Im definitely losing flow rate on the oscillating thruster nossel.

I dont think that complete levitation will ever be a possibility.

Not unless you genetically engineer humans to have extreme flatulence.

Haven't you ever seen those cattle stories? Cows have 4 stomachs which is why their gas is often used. You should use tanks and compress the gas so that you have a lot to go on. Composts with organic materials also make gas. The main ignition fuel from natural gas is methane ;

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methane

There are actually gas stations for this in places.

So what you are saying i should cross breed homo sapient with cows?

Either that or use an actual septic tank. You'd need something stronger from humans than farts. It would be the shittiest vehicle ever but it might actually fly that way.

Or better yet, a bullshit machine. You'd be surprised how far you can get on bullshit.

That's what /hover/ is all about, making progress. Preferably practical progress. Of gliding or hovering variety.

You might need a lot of compost producing gas with bacteria but it works. Its biotechnology. Green energy, practically free and it also solves the issue of how to deal with having to go to the bathroom during flight.

Someone had an idea for alternative propulsion after seeing the shower head jerk around whilst attempting to take a shower

(The variable acceleration of the water entering/leaving the showerhead/waterhose apparently produced motion of it)

We will need something very capable to get off planet and get to another habitable one and then even if we'd get to another habitable one a lot of things might be different. There are some pretty interesting patents in the pdf thread but we might need some pretty crazy stuff to make it anywhere. Even if the drive mechanisms may seem simple, they will require some kinda power source. If the power source is organic, say bullshit, then its renewable if there's an ecosphere to sustain it, but the craft might have to be pretty big for that. It would have to have the cows, bulls and the grass to feed them and all that stuff if its going on some interstellar mission. Distances in outer space are also ludicrous so we might also need some quantum quantum hardon collider magic. Or we could use antimatter but it doesn't really matter yet. The important thing is to get somewhere. Welcome aboard.
