Selfish girl doesn't know what she's got until it's gone, and even then because she only wants what she doesn't have.
Her continued obsession with him leads to him sabotaging his relationship with the actual girl of his dreams, and while this happens, she suddenly gets over him and gets back together with her ex-bf.
Marco is unsure of how to continue, bares his soul to Kelly, one of Star's friends who just got out of a relationship herself, and the two make a genuine connection. This all happens at some 4th of July type thing that the Underworld does that also happens to be on Marco's birthday that Star forgot.
Random ass gnome traps Star and Marco inside a photo booth, which causes Star to sperg out and confess to Marco, but not before making him waste all his money in the booth, this huge wad of cash he had since about halfway through the first season. Turns out they could have left at any time, Star doesn't apologize, and feels no regrets over cheating on Tom.
This all gets pushed to the side for about half a season so the plot can happen, and it is welcomed.
I stopped watching around here, and after this Contugno made an episode about Kelly and Hekapoo becoming Independent Womyn who don't need no Man and hate Marco's guts for no reason, and then another episode about Jackie Dreamgirl suddenly coming back and being a lesbian, which wasn't as bad but still feels like a kick in the teeth.
Star orchestrates the Genocide of all Magical Creatures in the entire Multiverse just so she can date Marco, and Marco has no say in the matter. Somehow, Ponyhead is the only survivor.
