I have made communities for "losers" and mentally ill peopel for some time and as anyone immersed in internet culture that is a female and would belong to these groups will tell you

I used to ban all females from my communities due to the issues that arose.

Well the reality is that these places are majority male and beta males at that so orbiting is inevitable.

it is easier to just not allow females than to moderate and ban all the pathetic incels.

Desu, I agree and I have met enough woman online who do have serious issues and trust me often they are more messe up than the average actual messed up male.

oh, I did this I made girls who were hidden LARP as males but the thing is they can never be open and lets face it men and woman have different issues.

It is totally unfair to just expect wman to fake being male especially when they have their own motivation

I've always agreed on this pretty broadly, I think if you aren't asked if you're a girl or boy, the best thing to do is never bring it up online, even if they use male pronouns. Complete indifference is usually ideal since what matters most is your personality or whatever else you are bringing to the community/group/etc.

If you correct their pronoun use or for some other reason tell them you're female, you will color peoples perception strongly, and usually not in a conducive way to your enjoyment.

I don't see this as the best solution. I think it's situational, but non-answer dismissiveness is my go-to. "Are you a girl?" "Who gives a shit?"

So on. If there's multiple people talking, it's also good to just not acknowledge the question.

If you want female-specific experiences and discussions, this is what I'd advise, and that's what /girltalk/ exists for. Personally I like the anonymous and uncensored style of image boards for nurturing a different kind of community than others. Not too fond of a discord server being posted since I think that can detract potentially valuable discussion points from being posted here, where the perks of being anonymous and so open are.

Although, tighter control of who gets in is one thing discord has.

Indifference is best I will agree, things tend to only get messy when gender is mentioned.

I myself am often mistaken as a female online even when I use voice hehe.

Sadly it can be obvious when someone is a female online if they do try to avoid the topic of gender and that s forgetting typestyle and mannerisms.

I myself nearly always say my gender is not relevant.

I admit I am not perfect and even I do perceive people differently when they are female but for reasons that are unrelated to orbiting etc as most males would.

How this manifests is I will consider experience as a female and how they do experience the world in a different way.

It is not taht I want female specific experiences but more as I mentioned I do happen to be able to relate my experiences to them better because of my own personality disorder and not being thirsty anon.

I agree regarding discord servers, being non anon only makes drama trust me I have been involved in a lot just for being owner of communities among other justifiable reasons.

You mentioned how a discord server can be good, anon posting and non anon each have advantages and disadvantages.

If you bring worthwhile discussion, it shouldn't be relevant what you are. My indifference runs both ways, what you bring to a community should be anything but gender.

If you just want to share good conversation and input, do so. It's female-focused, not female-exclusive.

I have seen some of that, but people are often on the fence about it at most, few really think I'm a girl. Ignore the matter and it will likely go away. On image boards, nobody really considers the idea anyhow.

I really do like discussion with others that think alike and for a lot of topics that is females.

I think on imageboards being a female is less of an issue when open and the issues only really happen when in a non anon community.

Guess this is personal basis but I don't give a fuck about genderbending myself on r9k and such. Men have fantastic unironic reasons to hate women, I don't blame them, because I hate the women they discuss too. I have one half genuine friend who's female, the rest are guys.

In the end gender doesn't matter, and if I accidently let mine slip and they ban me for it, then whatever. Plenty men on boards don't consider it an issue, the ones that do can have their fun hate party.

I didn't intend for my post to be insulting to OP, I only wanted to criticize his policies as a moderator, but again, I got too passionate.

To be fair, banning all girls to prevent incels from getting upset (which is OP did) is an objectively awful policy.
