Something that one of my colleagues brought up yesterday. Have we looked into GameStop and their connections with these people and companies? I mean their relationship with these people is more than normal and I am pretty sure their ethical practices with these companies is about as respectable as their business practices.

What made my colleague bring it up is the latest American Assassin's Creed commercial which advertised GameStop more than the actual game. I mean it is more than your average "preorder to get dlc hat" type of thing. In this one you get literally five seconds of actual game footage and the rest of it is just a giant GameStop add.

Banning those assholes would be impossible, there's a good reason why so many people hate S4T and i don't want HQ to become his personal hugboxed army.

But a good way to avoid the shills from using anon's hatred of S4T to derrail any interesting discution about the info in his vids would be to simply replace him.

Have someone else making vids with TLDR of ongoing diggs, even if the info is copy pasted from his chanel (he's being acused from stealing digs so… karma's a bitch)

More productive digging on game journalists. Whenever something new is uncovered like the recent Boyer/Fish COI someone should make a thread, and then maybe that will inspire more people to dig further. People should make more good threads in general, it seems like threads are disproportionately made by self-promoting spergs.

This, please. It's beyond depressing to do stuff like the MGSV digging and even some CoI stuff on my own, when I have an infinite amount of DeepFreeze stuff on my plate and that's the only stuff that could be easily outsourced.

Another idea — some form of operation for Wikipedia. I know that the page is guarded tighter than fort Knox, but I think something could be done outside of it to counterbalance it, show it's ridiculous. Possible proposals I have all require a crapload of work, though:

1 - Make a "proper" GG wikipedia page (like Jimbo said) on the GG wiki or elsewhere, to show the difference between theirs and ours. Maybe contact Masem or Kung Fu Man, since the emphasis would be on "properly made" by wiki standards.

2 - Make a good, exhaustive and clear list of all the fuckups on the article and of all historical fuckups — stuff like, Techraptor not a valid source and @femfreq tweets are, editors there were kicked out but the ones left are the same, DF not being at least namedropped but utterly irrelevant stuff being, DragonDragon got kicked out (will soon seemingly) of even Rational Wiki and a good percentage of the article is still his (?)

3 - Gather a series of fuckups on Wikipedia, and put them all together in a simple way. We saying "the GG article is wrong" seems like we're biased, but if we make a list "this, this, and this article are fucked up, and also the GamerGate article" it's another matter.

- In conjunction with the above point, there are some devastatingly powerful pictures that have been posted here that break down the fallacies of Social Justice. My favorite example is the one that invokes wealth and class being the most significant privilege of allwhile it's a gross oversimplification, a black family living in Central Park West is more oppressed than a poor white family living in the Adirondack Mountains, but that only makes sense if you subscribe to Social Justice

Granted, this comes off as us assuming that there are people on this board that sit around and wait for happenings. While absolute cynics canand will agree, doing ANYTHING is better than doing nothing at all. So e-mail templates can get numbers back on our side. This needs a little crafting, considering that anyone we've e-mailed since day one is probably playing the 'pretend they don't exist' card until it's too inconvenient to do so and they're pushed into a corner to take a side. Most of the time, it isn't ours.

That's about it off the top of my head. The stuff that came from those good at digging were amazing, and don't see why there shouldn't be any more of it. It helped connect something as innocuous seeming as vidya to monstrosities and awful things that lurk beneath the surface in more than one domain.

Op Good Bye Narrative

This Op is focus on public relations, influencing newspapers. I leave #GamerGate and related people out of the emails I send , while I speak about topics #GamerGate is concerned about. The intention is to take back the wikipedia page, inform normies about our issues and to borrow authority from various journalists and outlets.

Take for instance the closing of comment sections, you mail the sources to a newspaper and aks question if the debating culture is about to get lost. Another example would be "Crash Override Network", you get a few self helping networks which failed together since the people where not compentent enough and ask a newspaper to write about it. Of course without mentioning "Crash Override Network. Or take older psychology studies which had a way to small sample size which got later retracted, then ask the newspaper to write about them. Asking a questions like: Is economic pressure giving academic rigor a hard time.

Sometimes those articles deny my concern or eloborate further why this is really big problem, take lower quality in academia for instance. The intention is not to get a #GamerGate narrative out, the intention is to get truth out. All of people agree with #GamerGate concerns but ran away when they hear #GamerGate. I hope I can make #GamerGate a nice present for christmas, when the wikipedia entries of Anti's will get alot of new sources which look at them in a critical light from various perspections.

I just didn't felt to share that strategy so far since it takes alot of time and efforts to get to the newspapers. Maybe some will like this Op, or give me some criticial analyse why my "private" Op sucks hard.

Some ideas:

* Form work crews that can focus on one job without getting involved in the rest of GG. Use the GG meetups as opportunities to build crews for taking up work handed off by teams in other time zones.

* Publish a tox contact ID for focused crews that are open to receiving public input.

* Form a news team to have someone sweep each GG comms hub daily, collect digs and happenings, and spread the info. The reason for a team is to set schedules and prevent overlapping work.

* Form a translations team to identify materials for translation and translate them into non-English languages.

* Build blogs for intersecting issues. Internet Freedom. Consumer Rights. Web Censorship. Media Corruption. Back each one with a 501c3 to take donations to cover operational costs.

Collect other articles, which discuss the topic. Highlight Key People, point to their website. Write a friendly email, asking in a humble way if they might consider that topic, if they are not to bussy right know. Send the email to a dozen of outlets and see if the news is spreading. In my case I collect my narrative shredding articles. If you got a dozen together, realize them. Go back to GG hubs and give the fellow leaders ammunition.

Reason why there's infighting is when people get their personal politics inside and don't like when others 'hashtag wrongly'.

Geoff Keighley's The Game Awards is probably the biggest collection of sniveling and conniving corporate shilling in the entire industry. It's where the games media can shill for their buddies in the industry and pat them on the back for sucking the most gamers. Yet there's been nothing done about it. No one speaks out against it, at worst they'll be dismissive towards it. Why? Are people honestly content that a group of PR-spokespeople calling themselves "Journalists" should be allowed to dictate what is the best of the medium?

Why don't we start digging up the relationships between the "judges" panel and the games/studios up for nomination. The fact that the judges don't disclose potential conflicts of interests is very huge, and I doubt every single one of the judges is clean - no one in the "media"

It's not like we haven't dug up these sort of relationships before - we were really into digging up COI with the IGF and other indie-level awards shows. However, this is AAA level, where shit is much harder to dig up due to careful planning and manipulation of the PR and marketing departments. The show is in 2 days, so finding the connections in time to blow the lid open on this shitshow is going to may be impossible.

Continuing to see this corporate shilling in games media just makes my blood boil, and I don't want to feel like GG is useless against this.

Ridiculous claims in the article include the “muh women and minorities in tech” non-starter and that diversity is measured by if the number of “women and minorities” in tech equal their national population percentages or not. The associate professor at the tiny state college of UW-Whitewater claims that the game reminds him of his experience 14 years ago as a student – when he claims he had “authority” over his professors to speak on things but wasn’t given it because he’s an affirmative action admittee. The loops of (non)logic in this article can be further rendered. The main point is the dig.

“Fair Play” is brainchild of Molly Carnes, professor at UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health

OP ideas: dig for connections and take back the university (or demolish and start anew), stop leaving these people dominance over the scholarly institutions. They will and are using them as hiding caves and attack bases when they are supposed to be places of free expression and inquiry that do not impose ideologies on students, staff, and faculty.

Send emails to the news author, campus, and other outlets (whoever you think might make use of response emails) demolishing point-by-point with evidence the claims of the article and the intellectually bankrupt precedent they are setting. We’d need to access our fact supplies for this one.

I always thought GG and company were about rising to fight again, levelling up, and so on. Better get back to it – the next boss is always supposed to be tougher.
