Dude i JUST reinstalled 18.10 two days ago, I wanted to install void linux but I had some kinda setup error I wanted to correct so I reinstalled ubuntu and even figured out how to configure mobile broadband connections in the terminal... it's too soon, anon...to soon...

Ubuntu is based on Debian. Doesn't make it any better, though. All they did was inject their own flavor of bloat and ads.

Will they ever fix the brightness level issue(?), we'll just have to wait and see. It's really my only beef with Ubuntu other than systemd. I'm thinking I should buy another ssd and install void on that one, and config this one with only ubuntu, maybe i3, lightdm, and other stuff if the next one is more stable. lightdm isn't very stable on ubuntu 18.10 in my experience.

You can install the minimal version, anon. There is even a minimal i3 setup.

I tried Xubuntu 19.04
The latest Newvoh driver seems to work well on my 1050ti
The driver for my Brother laser sucked and I couldnt figure out how to unblock ports for torrenting over EasyTether so I went back to Windiws for now
