Kali and sickness 08/19/20 (Wed) 19:55:00 No. 137180
If a person spends their years in loneliness and never gets to experience what normal people do like love, sex and friends, can this person feel honored to have pain bestowed unto them by the goddess Kali?
Would they be allowed to call themself a disciple of Kali as a means of coping with the heartache?
Someone told me about Aghori equating the leprosy on their faces with beautiful jewels. A gift of Kali.

Just do yoga with some dedication if you want to meet Kali. It doesn't feel like a coincidence that she was shilled on 4/x/ and the thread was left up despite obvious NSFW being posted in it.

What Yoga should I do to meet Kali?
I never looked into it. Just did what felt good.

Start off doing the sun salutation sequence every morning before breakfast, then add more as you feel like it.

Look up Jan Fries' Kali Kaula if you want an incredibly thorough book on Kali and Deva worship in general. I've been reading it and I still learn new things when I come back to it every now and then.
Protip: Pic related is the baseline form of her Yantra. The hindu yantra is basically a sigil to a deity's worldspace, and I'm pretty sure the lotus petals and the cuboid-cross are both forms of protection and identification I think. I don't know for sure.

You mean like pic related? Using such sigils may work the same with prayer, meditation, and candles? A new form of sigil magick to learn? Cool beans. I'm interested. I'm still a newb at Hindu though, but I'm looking into it.

No.
Nothing qualifies someone as a "disciple of Kali". Lower astral stuff/Amway of the astral realm may pitch this to you, but it isn't the path.
Statues, even temples are meaningless [novelty, distraction, ego gratification, complete waste of fucking time ].
Primal energy, geared towards forward progress and resolution of problems without regard to the sanctity of ego [which, like it or not, actually has a degree of sanctity].
Become a devotee of Kali, expect to become a seducing fuck monster with a cult following, and still yearn for what is true.
Good luck.

You need an empowerment to work with hindu or buddhist deities. You can get them from gurus. People here will probably tell you that you don't need a guru or empowerments. Do what you feel is right.

I think he means you need to be initiated by someone who's already in. That's very common in certain currents.
Sometimes the spirits themselves will initiate you or lead you to self-initiation.

Well, temples and statues aren't necessarily worthless, as they both a historical and cultural tool. Ultimately, I agree that in the functional scope of spiritual development, they are not needed for worship. But they are a nice source of fun.

For the record, the gods themselves can initiate you if they choose. So, self-initiation is more about being the sole mortal present for said initiation in the first place, rather than being alone.
If you're still not sure about that. Well then, as someone who -is- a Kali devotee, consider yourself initiated, friend.
