The whole thread is a good read and if there's anyone here who has a decent grasp on what kind of modifications they'd want to make to their consciousness you can definitely use the methods talked about in that thread to affect radical change in the consciousness.

How the hell is a state of one-pointedness that is common among several schools of faith (both gnostic and agnostic) equal to a mental illness associated with brain imbalance, waking dreams, and paranoia?

I once read someone who casted a spell to live in a world where pokemon were real, people traded with them, chase them on the streets, etc. It wasn’t a particularly strong magician or spell. Just a kid who wanted to “jump into another universe”. The spell consisted of prolonged meditation and visualization only.

Some months later pokemon go came out.

A way to mentally link your creative interests, once you've entered gnosis, is by mentally speaking (or through literal talking) to your brain, that your creative sparks are now linked, that your will to make better art is now the same as your will to do better programming.

That's just one example, the best thing is to experiment; that's modern occult schools borrow from the religions of different countries.

Oh, no, it's alright. I think it's what people call "the zone", but I want to know if gnosis is a super-charged "variant" of it. I want my old, childlike passion to breech the "icky" barrier on not drawing stuff I don't like and seeping back into my art where it used to belong, i.e I'm so drawn towards cuteness that I can't even do shitposty/cartoony stuff because I feel it's all crass and cheapens everything.

I want to not only feel the joy of creation, but achieve gnosis with it.

That's a fair point to take into consideration. When I was a neophyte I also thought I was willingly succumbing to some kind of aberrant mental break, so in that sense I sympathize.

With that said, I feel sorry for /pol/ since most of its regulars have infodumped themselves into a delirium and are not in a position to easily discern useful material from a kind of data salad of half-truths. It isn't like we aren't used to that on other boards and certainly on here, but /pol/ is caught in a self-defeating narrative loop, and I fear that most of the exits out for them are going to be rejected out of hand. It's a shame since their energies reach such a fever pitch that they would make for fantastic initiates if they hadn't already uncritically fallen prey to a series of paranoia complexes.

Who knows, though? If this sparks something, there might be hope for them.

The quick rundown of the issue is this: life is like a dream. Dying involves the unraveling of one's traumas and the refocusing of one's scattered awareness. This has the side-effect of increased psychic functioning.

One can follow this process intentionally by the practice of alchemy and meditation. Or attempt an NDE as a shortcut. In South America, this is done by near-drowning, starvation and hypothermia. Hindus focus on the "energy" aspect and that is very convenient for a Westerner to try and shoehorn spirituality in a materialist framework—which might explain why Hindu spirituality has become so popular in the West. Other cultures have other explanations for it that don't fit so well. Another shortcut is drugs, but it's unreliable and its effects in one's psychic functioning are usually temporary.

The feeling of overwhelming love and the loss of fear is an entrapment mechanism by a negative light being. An ally would calm you and help you retain your poise. A negative being will blind you by overwhelming you with an emotion in which you can both resonate, and proceed to drain your energy. This is why it's so very important to master your emotional reaction, to feel what you want to feel when you want to feel it. To let go when you want to only. Otherwise dying will be like going for a swim in shark infested waters with a bleeding wound.

Psychic impairment is a consequence of scattered attention, or in different terms, having too many threads of "energy", of focused "divine light" maintaining ongoing manifestations in the world (past, present or future), usually from the unconscious parts of our psyche (mind/body/soul). This is also what makes physical reality stable.

Death is the almost complete detachment from physical reality in this sense, and that is why NDE's sometimes cause a boost in psychic ability, focus, intelligence and "will".

I also don't mean energy as understood in Eastern practices is not "real", at all. It's just that in absolute terms, it is just an interface to our dream, where nothing is really real, except in its effects ("by their deeds you will know them"). What I do mean is that the model is not useful for explaining why near-death experiences may cause awakenings of this kind.

Holy fuck, this sounds EXACTLY like a longstanding problem I've had with my meditation.

Now, how do I "consolidate" or minimize these threads of divine light without needing an NDE? I've been trying to do death meditations by imagining and/or pretending that I was dead, but I'm wondering if there's a more precise or elegant method to keeping these threads in one string so I can get more focus out of my meditation.

Remember that "you" are not your soul. You are a purely active, ineffable point of awareness experiencing your soul. When performing magical operations, you should detach your awareness as much as possible from the superfluous energetic structures that are irrelevant to the goal of the operation.
