That all depends were you live now days, I find small town & rural America great places to live. Overall freedom-loving, happy, sane and civilized (most of them anyway). Cops are nicer, people are more polite, there is no mob rule (mobs would be shot at quickly in a vast majority of rural America), plus you have more people in the trades doing productive work which makes services a hell of a lot cheaper to afford outside the major cities ;) The only drawback is longer drives but compared to the advantages totally worth it!

It is God's country out here, lower taxes, less crime, everyone is much more self-sufficient by default (many have to be when living outside the cities), little bureaucracy and as long as you mind your own affairs and don't intrude on another man's property you don't need to worry about having your ass kicked or being shot at. People are more mindful and polite over here, but they also don't put up with any bullshit either. No one cares about politically correct "social justice warrior" nonsense. Two genders, Jesus is Lord, love it or leave it! I love it and would never consider moving.
