When booking travel, do you trust hotel comparison platforms to get the best deal, or have you had better luck booking directly with the hotel? Curious what people prefer after years of using travel apps.

I usually compare prices on the big travel sites first, then check the hotel’s own site. Sometimes they match the price and throw in extras like free breakfast or parking. It’s not always cheaper, but direct booking has saved me from a few overbooking headaches during peak travel seasons.

I used Trivago a few times to compare hotel prices, and while it helped me spot good deals, I quickly realized that not all listings are equal. Once, a room I booked turned out to be in a completely different building than advertised. I ended up checking https://trivago.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html after that experience and found similar stories. It doesn’t mean I avoid the platform now, but I definitely use it as a starting point, not the final step. I cross-check with the hotel directly to make sure I know exactly what I’m booking.
