With so many niche online shops popping up—especially on social media—how do you know which ones are legit? Any red flags to watch for or tricks to confirm a site is trustworthy before placing that first order?

I always check the site’s return policy and whether it has a physical address listed. If the “About Us” page is super vague or full of typos, that’s a huge red flag. Bonus points if they accept PayPal, it gives you another layer of protection if something goes wrong.

I’ve started getting really cautious with new e-commerce stores, especially ones that pop up through targeted ads. I once bought a jacket from a site that looked sleek but ended up taking over a month to arrive and it didn’t match the photos at all. Before buying from another new brand, I checked CNfans customer service experiences at https://cnfans.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html and it gave me a clearer picture of what to expect. Reviews aren’t always deal-breakers, but they help set realistic expectations.
