>How the fuck is v8 supercars a dying series?
It is actually, thanks to most of the races moving to pay TV.
>typical neo-capitalist fucks took over running it, and are more concerned with short term figures to make them look good, then long term gains which are good for the business
Pay TV isn't as common in Australia as other countries (traditionally expensive as fuck due to a one company monopoly), and the ratings have been dire.
One of the races got 63,000 viewers on pay TV, compared to over 500,000 it would have got on free TV.

Even in my own experience, friends and associates who used to talk about the V8 series, just don't anymore.
It will be interesting to see how it pans out later in the year, as the majority of free TV races are later in the season.
