How about an extreme take on 'there are only two genders'? Men and women get on as usual, but anything in between or any combination thereof are considered subhuman, only receiving the legal protections domesticated animals do. Somehow female empowerment and independence ends up putting a girl in a sexually vulnerable or exploited situation.
Possibilities:
Title IX type ruling leads to a girl changing and showering in a locker room full of boys before and after a daily sport.
Movement for women to be in charge of disciplining their daughters leaves a girl getting spanked by her mom/step-mom, despite her dad's misgivings.
