What kind of kinds have you've gotten into thanks to your adventures in ERP?
For me, I would always be willing to try new things in scenes and let people push their kinks onto me, and over time I just found out I like a bunch of stuff. I was into things like tentacles, some light transformation, and BDSM stuff. However since then I sort of picked up more things while opening my windows, part of it being trapped by how people write out certain kinks, and another part of me just being easy going about the weird shit I got into.

In my opinion, it's when everything they've bothered to reference and allude towards shrinks away the moment characters engage in anything sexual. For example, someone makes an opening post describing a bustling city. Details the sorts of people that occupy a particular market that our characters are meeting in. They describe the style of dress, the culture and customs of those people. With the sounds and smells, they make a real effort to give this place life beyond just the two of us. And then we engage, it turns sexual, and suddenly none of that exists. It's barely mentioned again because character is trying to get his dick wet. So why then get my hopes up with this amazing intro post that's crafting a world unique to us, if you're just going to dump it and do nothing but hump my face four posts after the fact.
And by half-baked I just mean they give a minimum amount of effort to establish a setting when it's immediately obvious all they really want to do is fuck my character. I'd rather cut out the pretense and toss us both in a shady back alleyway so there's no mistaking what we're there to do.
TLDR; If sex is the destination and not part of the longer journey then it's just a waste of time trying to "craft a world".

Oh, no. We'd both have a part in it, since I think that's the ideal way to go about it. Having people who aren't afraid to play other part-time characters as NPCs now and again also really goes a long way in making things feel more alive.
The big problem with it turning sexual is that's where a lot of people are done. But it's easy enough to reference some sort of world event to get the two talking and making up a broader story while they're laying together in bed or on the floor - wherever you ended up fucking. A reference to an encroaching war, political upheaval, a sickness stealing across the city. A reason to uproot yourself and continue on, but not before you go at it a second time.
I guess it really boils down to the time period and how long-term a scene you're after. What your roles are in this world. Are you unknown and simply eking out a daily life, or tied to some great thread of fate?
But to be honest, I don't do much story based play anymore. Been disappointed one time too many.

Sometimes it's like "Oh yeah, I wanna go on a quest to conquer the world and all the women in it" but they want that to be catered to, in much the same way that a limp fish sub will be. They just want to react to things while you do most of the work. In contrast, lazy worldbuilders will want to build to a specific thing, and push the other person toward it. There's a significant difference between railroading the other player to your desired destination and offering them a plot hook and seeing if they bite.

One person suggested a treck across Skyrim. Whiterun to Solstheim as a bodyguard/sex RP. Which is a perfectly serviceable RP plot. But. They failed to communicate I had to be both bodyguard and the encounters. Since they brought it up, I assumed they were going to split at least some of the work.
It's again, why I'm wary of it. As much as I love the idea. If somebody came up to me like you and says hey how about an adventure RP for your character and I'll run the encounters for you or whatever really, to assure me that the above isn't going to happen. I'd be willing to go for it yeah.

Anyone tend to have trouble with their favourite kinks?
Transformation is a fucking mess for me. I love it, but it has to be in a specific way or else it kind of falls flat.
There are a number of people I've had this sort of thing with, but unfortunately my less savvy friends who don't really understand don't do it quite right or perhaps they think it'll work if it's not quite like that and then it gets to the awkward situation of 'should I just tell them that it doesn't really do anything for me like this?'
