Personally, I come here once in few months to read what's new but I don't trust this network anymore (there are no interesting boards here or on any other *chan) and I don't know why this board is even alive (some kid probably asked 8shit admins to keep it alive and I don't know how he got it done), so this is my first post ever after 8chan holocaust. I can't speak for anyone else but life is actually simpler - you don't have to join discord or any other social media, you just eventually disconnect yourself from everything and no one gives a fuck - then you will realize how much easier life is. I don't understand why you couldn't think of this solution first. At least that's what I did. I don't have any social media account, except github, gitlab or similar services and I'm subscribed to few dev mailing lists (and few irc channels) - that's my only way to stay in touch with outer world in solely professional way. I had only few friends left from old times in my life and one day I told them to learn how to use e-mail or they can go fuck themselves (all of them were too dumb to use e-mail so I said 'good riddance', now I know why computing is fucked when people are too lazy to use e-mail for communication in 2020). Life during coronatimes got way easier for me. There is no one to control me anymore and the work I do requires me to get online maybe once in few weeks, do few checks and contribs, reply to e-mails and I get paid. Matter of fact, I don't have to worry about income anymore because everyone is so busy they have no time left to check if I do anything at all; and as long as everything is "working on my machine", everyone's cool with it. I don't even care anymore about income, to be honest. I can still afford a place to stay but even if this opportunity would vanish one day, you can earn by playing some instrument outside for 1 hour enough for food and booze for 2-3 days. Even I was surprised how little you need to actually get by here.

However, it's much harder during autumn, winter and early spring. I knew places where homeless people stay during these days and these places keep vanishing. For example, if you had old socblock, it was usually heated by system of tubes with warm water and you could stay out during winter in "canals" (this word has different meaning for you Americans), but imagine it basically as tube system under ground and you could access it by breaking in and then you will stay in during few months underground near these tubes in somewhat-warm place. Punks and anarchists did it all the time, when I was young I slept in those places as teen with homeless people but the problem is that this heating system got replaced by electric heating over the years and these places got shut down with few exceptions, so good luck staying out for weeks in winter. Unless you can either find some shelter or literally you have access to some abandoned fisher's/hunter's spot out there, you are fucked and you can forget about comfortable sleep until summer.

It's not about hiding anything, it's not about privacy, it's just because during last year I've become literally sick of mankind and I can't stand anyone else in my life anymore. I don't know anymore how to maintain human relationships. Sometimes psychosis kicks in and everyone else freaks out, plus I started drinking a lot and it isn't helping but so what, you know? So I decided to be on my own because I know I'm not able to behave as I should anyway, I can only survive if I do everything on my own. I spent whole spring and summer outside in nature alone. I learned a lot of new things. I know how to lit fire in rain, how to survive with what I have (and what you should have to have your life easier), I got back into fishing, Food is actually biggest issue. I bought large backpack soon enough because I've found out that my casual backpack is not large enough. I carry around a lot of stuff, you know. I still have old laptop but in contrast - I have two binoculars, and they are combined together heavier than the laptop itself (I know it sounds ridiculous but you'll find out how important it is to have good fucking binos when you are out in nature.) Even during summer, you have to have your army coat with you because when autumn comes, you have to have it, there is no place where you can leave it and it's just optimal solution. I was lucky enough to get solid water-resistant coat after I ended my service. It takes insane amount of space and you carry it all on your back all the time when you don't need it. It's ridiculous. If you expect to live on your own, find a place where weather is warm, you will save a lot of energy. And then you simply go from there, go through day and enjoy the life with Mr. God.

Anyway you assholes, do not rely on anyone's else advices. Spend at least 1 week outside. You will after 1-2 days realize what is essential to have with you in your surroundings, you will update your equip gradually. For example I could guess that decent swiss knife is useful but I never knew that I will need some sort of gardening rope/string. If you have piece of fucking string you can tie between two trees, you can create roof above your head way easier, at least where I live. It's handy when sudden rain comes, which can come even during summer, we all know storms during summer nights, right? The point isn't to survive, you will not survive for decades living like this but the point is to get by to another day in this fucking world. With blessing of Mr. God, maybe we will wake up healthy again.
