México is still doing fine, with the US now being the epicenter and AMLO refusing to close down the borders I expect it to get bad. Shithole countries don't seem to be hit as hard by this, except Brazil.

I feel like this was really it. Human civilization has peaked and its only downwards from here. Cheap, easily extractable oil is gone and with it the foundation of fast growth.

we doomers have predicted the end times for a while
perhaps we are also best equipped to be the representation of what is to come

>México is still doing fine
No we're not, food and basic first need prices are skyhigh, the number of confirmed cases still increasing, people are rioting and looting malls, our memecurrency is getting fucked, we just hitted phase two and the absolutely worst part is, they are lying about the number of total death by covid19 showing them as a mere pneumonia, besides that, people are taking this quarantine as a vacation and to be fair that's part fault of the president, that old senile is not taking any of this seriously and just can't stop embarrassing himself.
I'm sure is only matter of time until the real riots happen, people are lazy and most of them won't even go outside but the most marginal sector will absolutely make a mess sooner or later.

I remember there being a study done that the industrial revolution is not repeatable anymore since it depended on easily accessible resources that are now gone. Basically, if modern "civilization" falls, we are not getting up again even if we survive as a species and you're quite literally correct, but reality is even more severe. We're probably going back to being hunter-gatherers if there'll be survivors at all.
Upside being, night walks are even more pleasant now that there's even fewer normalfags about.

The virus is bullshit (or 99% at least), but the permanent effects on economy and social order will be the start of the end. Everyone's getting all giddy about Coronavirus "surveillance" measures, when prior to this bullshit (search "Event 201" and consider the timing) they'd be up in arms against it.
Trump signed a 5G bill while everyone was distracted. AT&T's "AirGig" will enable easy deployment of 5G transmitters (and cameras) anywhere that powerlines can reach. Even putting aside health effects (https://web.archive.org/web/20200129071256/https://www.powerwatch.org.uk/science/studies.asp) and just considering the authoritarian wet dream it can enable, feeling like offing myself a lot more than usual. That could be the whole point.
Imagine the number of suicidal people this farce has pushed over the edge.

This is exactly what makes the current crisis so dangerous. Unlike the great depression at which there was still plenty of resources left, these days we already used up a good chunk of the easily extractable stuff and getting an economy back up from it's knees takes additional resources.
Humanity is basically that Nigger who won the Lottery and immediately went on a shopping spree instead of investing for the long term.

Not really, this is the shittiest apocalypse ever because it wont be an apocalypse at all but the same all hard times for everybody but the elite who get to buy everything in a firesale while some have to literally scavenge through trash to eat
As soon as things "bounce back" it will be back to same all shitty normal, just shittier just like things got shittier after 1987, 2001 and 2008 and all the other ones from the past
>muh tacticool doomer wojak
It wont happen, the elites will still bankroll the security forces so that you can't do shit against them, but they wont help your ass when somebody knocks at your door looking for gibsmedats
>>26711
Oil is at an all time low, so low that a lot of operations are shutting down until it goes back up and theres hardly any storage space for all the oil we have. This was already happening even before this corona shit because as it turns out all that renewable crap is keeping the system alive, and against all odds the pulse-fusion experiments are working too so soon oil will be worth fuck all since even plastics are going green because of all the pollution in the sea
The only good thing from all this is that those fucking oil sheiks will have to suck dick from now on, fuck dubai and all those artificial shitholes in the middle of the desert
But the same shit system that we had will continue, shit will only get increasingly worse for those of us at the bottom (pic VERY related) the only bright side is that with VR getting cheaper I can finally escape this shitty boring reality. If there's ever a voluntary Matrix-like shit were I can live the life I wish I had inside a vat I'm signing up for it
>>26713
No planeros expect it because they are used to the misery and gibsmedats, but every wageslave out there is already sweating through this shit chabon, every PYME I know is borderline bankrupt and 1/3 of all payday checks are bouncing, its insane

Italy is already past the worst, germany is practically untouched and the uk is not even part of the club anymore so nobody cares. And these countries have safety nets for their safety nets, yuros are whiners who have no idea what a real economic collapse is like, for them "bad times" is not being able to buy a new car every year
>>26733
Bruh we're at the point that mining trash is almost cheaper than mining for new resources. If there's a collapse with 90% of the world population dying (no chance for lets go for that) then that remaining 10% will be able to get things back on track from all the useful trash laying around, and because they are a fraction of the current population there will be more to go around than today

One could argue that any kind of organism would handle it this way. In evolutionary terms you seem to be a disadvantage to carefully manage your resources instead of simply going on a huge bender. It very much makes sense on a local scale.

Today instead of dying, I drank a bunch of coffee, listened to the entirety of the Bambi Sleep hypno, and ejaculated twice. Then I got up and blasted "I Kill Everything I Fuck" in my mom's basement and danced around and drew some pictures and eventually practiced for the thing I have to do. So far only one run through, but stuff seemed mostly ok… I guess I might be lazy and polish up on it very early tomorrow. In retrospect, "Bambi Sleep" may have wasted some time. It was very long.

pffffffft
my friend, this is all bullshit and panic making
Once the glorious US eCONomy is reopened and G*d emperor Trumpchi is reelected for another 40 years of president status, DOW JONES will skyrocket to 40'000 points, SnP will be at 4444 points and we will have the bestest economy there ever was.
All those gold cucks will shit blood out of pain for missing this next galactic rallye. We will mine asteroids in outer space for minerals and once we have enough progress, we will build a fucking pipeline from asteroid oil fields to pump it directly to earth. And the moon? we will build a fucking skylift to that motherfucker. Space tourism is the next thing anons.
>>26711
>Cheap, easily extractable oil is gone and with it the foundation of fast growth.
Don't worry fren, we will find new energy sources to prostitute. The chinese found 500 million migrant workers in villages that their own regime prostitutes as slave labour.
But you are right, the golden years are probably over already. For example I don't see this Covid drama ever ending again unless we get a vaccine that works. But as this virus mutates, it is well possible that we will never find a vaccine that works. If it was that easy, there would have been a vaccine for SARS, we had 20 years to find one and didnt.
>>26714
>we doomers have predicted the end times for a while
Negrohedge dot com has been predicting the end times since 2009. of course they got to be right once ;-)
No seriously the world is in a really fucked up state and all govt and central bank interventions only make things worse and worse
we need to get rid of this fucking paper money system or it will implode the entire world one day
>>26733
This is true actually.
All form of capitalism needs a source of low hanging fruit type of energy to prostitute it for easy profits.
The Chinese had 500 million migrant workers. Saudi Barbaria and Russia had oil and western countries had 500 million boomers who were willing to work their asses off their entire life with work. My generation does not want to do real work and even if we wanted to, nobody could teach us that because the boomers who know how to get shit done are dying out. The Gen Xers are the original doomer generation. Caught in the frontlines. Unless nuclear fusion becomes reality, there is no solution for our energy thirst.
>good chunk of the easily extractable stuff
allthough I see one thing here.
Human corpses, when lit on fire burn like candles. Because humans are composed of lots of fat. So when we are running out of coal and oil, we can just fire the steam machines with corpses of deceased people, right? /sarc

Or we did, but Big Pharma put a stop to it because it would cost them money. I wouldn't be surprised if they were sitting on a bunch of cures of all sorts of shit just to keep the money flowing from us serfs. I mean, if we actually cured things, how could they afford the extra sportscars for their Instathot sugarbabies?

no what I meant is that everyone is like
>boo hoo
>when we have a vaccine ready everything will be sunshine again
but this is an RNA virus. Just like the flu. Just like the common cold.
Or SARS and MERS. There is no vaccine for shit like that because if there was, we would have eradicated the common cold and flu a long time ago already
And of course in the 80s they also said shit like
>AIDS?
>boo hoo
>in a few years we will have a vaccine ready
except nobody ever found one
This is why I always laugh at those people thinking there are easy solutions for the Wuhan virus. There is none. The genie is out the bottle and we cannot put him back in. This pandemic crap will be the 911 of the Zoomer generation and once again govt will use this as excuse to robb us of our freedoms

Scientis are starting to predict 1.000.000 deaths here.
Meanwhile some people are still denying this shit and doing protests pro dictatorship with our president. The cities that Bolsonaro had most votes are the cities with greater death toll by covid19.
The sense of dread and despair is consuming me day by day. One day in the near future I'm sure I'll go grocerie shopping and find out some corpses laying on the ground like is happening in Equador.

they are seeing their profits melt away in this crisis. It is nothing political just business as usual
but I would let them reopen everything
after half their families and friends die of this Poo Flu they can think again if they should have asked for it
