When it comes down to it, it's all about psychology. Generally speaking, people want to date up. This is why men want to have gorgeous, arm candy, Instagram model girlfriends, and women want rich, powerful, professional athlete boyfriends. We're all competing to reproduce with people with good genetics to give our offspring a decent chance at a healthy, successful life. The problem is that a lot of us just don't have anything worth it for said people with good genes to hook up with us long-term. We are like those mediocre at best old farts who pay top dollar for eye candy to show around to their rivals like it's a little boy showing off a new toy at show and tell. We were doomed either by bad genes or have decent enough genes but have been doomed psychologically to the point that we'd make the other person uncomfortable and pity us rather than want to fuck us. Me personally, I took the volcel route because I fit the latter: I'm not unfuckable, I've had brief flings that didn't really mean much, but the only girl I ever actually loved is already taken (married, kids, the works) and I can't see myself finding another because even if I did, my mental issues would kick in and make it all horrible.

They are not Mozarts or Marie Curies either.

But what they are really good at is being consumers. And this is what makes peoples like the ones listed above rich, so they want a steady supply of new consumers to become richer and richer into infinity. Because having a helicopter and ferrari and 2 mansions on top of your appartement is not enough. You need a mega yacht and arts collection as well.

And so we continue to shit out useless people in the world. Most of them will not be creators of a new Moonlight sonata. Many of them will stay illiterate their entire life. They will be goat herders or poor subsistence farmers and never earn 50'000$ their entire life. They will not reach olympian heights in sports. They will just continue to eat away ressources every single day until all the rain forests are destroyed and replaced by cattle and soy bean farms.

And until all our scarce freshwater supplies will be used up to produce hamburgers so we can stuff ourselves with tasty shit that will give us heart attacks but not kill us because the medicinal industry cannot let us die because dead people do not give them profits.
