Throughout my teenage years, I've always hated myself and wanted to kill myself. Ever since i was 17 or so and so on, I've had small episodes where I would become erratic and hold the conviction that my opinion was correct and that the other person was objectively wrong. While I was having one of these episodes, it was virtually impossible to argue with me proactively, and I would feel a great hate for people who even mildly slighted me or disagreed with me, and get very vindictive and spiteful.

Just insecurity. You probably don't have much going for you except an exceptional level of random knowledge and thus get overly defensive when your competence in that area is threatened.

Same here, is funny how adults used to think I was a genius when in reality I just had really good memory for trivia and scored well in tests because tests have nothing to do with abilities that are actually useful IRL

Yeah, OP here, came back to this thread. I was seen as a smart kid because I was able to perform basic, semantic knowledge assignments from 1st-5th grade. I remember I was confident in myself because of this, which made it hurt even more when i actually realized that without social or motor skills, I'm an invalid.

Most adults disagree unfortunately.

>"lol kids sre dumb"

>muh brain development

People treat kids like defective dogs that need metaphysical surveillance.

Yet they expect them to grow up into efficient healthy adults.

This is not just helicopter parenting. This is about the smothering over-fondness of "childhood."

Anytime a child/teen/young adult fails at a task people wanna block them from the real world.

Yet adults, especially men can fuck shit up and never have their value questioned.

Moral of the story: Children make mistakes = "immaturity"

Adults make mistakes = "progress"

It pisses me off when people freak out about some 20-something dating someone much older than them, having a high-paying job, or having an occasional drink/smoke.

Or if a teen or tween is solitary and cynical, adults think said teen/tween is disrespectful. Yet if said kid was a happy-go-lucky puppy, they think he's retarded.

Adults radicalize young people to death with their dumb boomer beliefs of "changing the world", yet when young people do radicalize, the elders get scared and want ro raise age of majority to protect against "unruly youth".

In America, adults are more worried about teens playing video games than they are about middle-aged drunks living within walking distance of a brewery.

Teens are patronized and smothered like infants for discovering sex, politics, and money yet are expected to know how things operate by 18.

I think this social-legal hebephobia has to do with adults projecting their childhood unto actual children.

>" When I was your age, I didnt have (insert current-year tech here). Since I never had it, you dont deserve it."

>Yet same adult has hundreds of other current year tech to satisfy his dopamaine-rushed brain.

Hollywood remakes ring a bell? Nobody wants to adult anymore. They all think adulthood is just an eternal cool kids membership where you can gorge on all life's pleasures with discipline. When things go wrong, they blame the next generation by taking away their basic rights.

This is not just Boomer vs Millennial. It's also now Millennial vs Zoomer. And Zoomer vs Gen Alpha.

>Hollywood remakes ring a bell? Nobody wants to adult anymore.

Hollywood remakes have nothing to do with maturity. They're just an easy cashgrab for studios since they'll save money on the script and they already have a guaranteed target audience. They're a symptom of an industry afraid to take risks, one that needs "guaranteed profits" to sustain itself.

I mean remakes are (pathetically ) appealing to the nostalgia craze which is causing adults to de-mature. Assuming they were mature to begin with.

There is nothing wrong with remembering the good times but when you start making your childhood decade a political statement, it's time to evalute your adulting skills.

But yes remakes are cheap easy cash grabs bc the industry is in a profit-or-creativity rut.

I think it is simply a lack of creativity. All the "original" content is produced by super progressive art school credentialed writers who can relate to approximately 10% of the population who share their worldview. Most people don't want politics with their movie or tv show. They want to watch bill jump a car over the rio-grande with a briefcase full of money. Or they want to watch suzy and phillip fall in love in paris. They don't really relate to Jamal and Stacey falling in love in NYC because A) the majority of the population are not in, nor have they been in interracial relationships and B) a decent portion of the population finds interracial relationships distasteful. Same goes for stories involving homosexuality, something like 10% of the population is homosexual. The rest of the population doesn't relate to that. Look at classic movies. Man vs. Nature, Man vs. Man, Man vs. Society, love stories, etc. They are trying to add a political or social agenda to stories and quite frankly, it doesn't appeal to people and it makes the stories suck because all of a sudden the identity of side characters etc. has to be further defined and it makes for clumsy narratives.

I believe there is nothing beneficial about being alive. Why are people born in to this world anymore? I don't know what you're going to do with yourself, OP, but if you think negatively you won't go anywhere in life. Even in ancient greek philosophy you see this idea of a caste of people being the philosophers and aristocrats while the rest is just cattle. Meaning and purpose are only for those who will never even have to worry about working since they have slaves or serfs or wathever. For the rest of the human cattle some butchered religions and fake status symbols should have to be enough, breaking into that conditioning though is only detrimental, you do nothing knowing about the social control mechanisms except suffer psycologically, even if a revolution does ocurr is just a reassemble of a new caste that will emerge and do the same, just like it happened with the french revolution, capitalism, communism, fascism, none solved this underlying reality of human existence, they can only swap a few symbols and figureheads at best, and at the expense of more suffering and more death.

kids need to be protected not because they are dumb but because they are sponges and absorb things around them that stick in their brains hardwired for their whole life. Helicopters just try to get them to absorb only positive constructive inputs while blocking all the nigger ones and i can't blame them for at least trying. In todays mass media state of the world keeping children from absorving massive amounts of anti values is a herculean task and it will end up in them being sheltered because theres no alternative.

You won't "go anywhere" being positive either: you're still chained down whether those chains are of iron or of gold.

Then people shouldn't have kids. Children arent really inherently innocent anyway. And even if they were, they need to be taught realism, not goody-goody two-shoes idealism about how things will get better.

Again, the laws of sociology in childhood arent different from adulthood. It's just Anglos take childhood way too seriously.*

Childhood is mainly social-physical development, not a sub-reality, but adults seem to forget that.

Just like how it's wrong to assume any people in the same gender or race are the same, children of any same age group are not exactly the same. You will have elementary-schoolers who can recite classic works with ease and others who cannot do basic math.

Adults forget this: children are people too. Just because they suck asss at some things doesn't mean they're useless at everything else. But no, children have to succeed at everything to be worthy of life. Meanwhile, adults can be illiterate and caligraphically-challenged and not have their maturity questioned.

If your average working class adult doesn't know much about abstract stuff, why is it young people are judged exclusively by their academic skills?

* this romanticism of childhood is responsible for the generation gap, and the arrested development that is nostalgia, which is hitting people like like puberty, except most never grow out of it. People over 35 now think 18 is "too young" for consenting sex and smoking, yet they expect same youths to die in war.

These same over 35 folks waste money on toys to feel like they're 18 again, acting like jaackass older siblings.

People whine about boomers, but the millennials are becoming even bigger boomers than their parents.

Yeah, leave children on their own so you can have a 300 pound tranny trisexual furry by the time they are 13, or better yet, a street corner nigger. I am not against kids being taught hard lessons and stuff but they need to be supervised, the kid is not going to start composing symphonies on his own, he needs to be taught all that hard shit even if he has the natural predisposition and thats his parents responsability , to teach them whats good for them to be exposed to rather than nigger music and fag drag queen reality shows. Those things are not "reality" they are degeneracy, and bad habits and degeneracy are just one part of reality you could do away with in the most crucial part of the brain development phase which is infancy.

Of course kids need supervision. The problem is adults do too much supervision with little interaction or teaching them life skills.

Also, mothers especially need to be discouraged from smothering their kids. Stop them from condemninf their kid for getting a sub-stellar job offer. Tell them to get over themselves when they go apeshit over their sobs developing fetishes or knowing cuss words.

Like I said nowadays, people wanna block young people from the real world under the guise of concerned paternalism while older folks can plunder about in their vices.

And when shit hits the fan, they want to dump it on the youth to fix.

People shouldnt have kids anyway. Most adults just want someone to fix the world for them rather do it themselves.

People cant really teach life skills they don`t have themselves. But that is entirely relative because a lot of parents can and do teach their kid useful life skills, others just leave that to the silly tubes.

>Stop them from condemning their kid for getting a sub-stellar job offer.

You go on about the "real world" and parents teaching their kids, well, this is the real world lesson, compete or get fucke, someone who is a doomer should know this is a reality. There are no golden stickers for getting a shit job or getting shit grades or having shitty habits, when you are an adult you just get ignored and are left in your misery, good parents will at least warn you to wise up, random people will not be so kind to explain this to you. (You seem to be projecting a lot of your own issues with mom btw)

>Most adults just want someone to fix the world for them rather do it themselves.

And you expected adults to hand you the perfect utopia so you can live happily ever after with everything already figure out? thats just as much as a dellusion as boomers expecting you to fix the world.

>while older folks can plunder about in their vices.

What random adults do is not your parents problem or responsibility, what their own underage kid does is, legally and morally. This is a very immature analogy tbh, are you still a teen?
