what conceptually makes the corners of your mouth curl? Share fond memories, nostalgic media, prized possessions, and other glints of sunlight on a dying day.
One thing that makes me happy, for instance, is drinking hot tea from looseleaf. It's the one thing I rarely hesitate splurging on because you can get so many different flavors. Taking my time to boil water, measure out my leaves into a mesh ball, watching it steep, smelling the aroma.. it's part of my routine by now, but it feels far from mundane. I believe that having little rituals helps keep me anchored and stable even as depression may come and go. I've given up on trying to "cure" myself, so now I am content by seeking a peaceful cohabitation with sanity.
My favorite teas so far are milk oolong and lapsang souchong. I also used to drink a ridiculous amount of herbal tisanes but some of them have some memories I rather not dwell on so I stick to tea now.

>what conceptually makes the corners of your mouth curl?
Opening the window in the morning while it's still cold, drinking coffee, smoking a cigarette, dressed in old 10+ year old jeans and old sweatshirt, barefoot, looking outside on rising sun, not thinking about anything exciting, just listening to The Microphones - Glow Pt. 2 (album). In that moment I feel like 18 year old again, everything is perfect even though people I used to love are gone, that's only set of circumstances which make me feel like I have a place in this world.
That moment when you hear some good groovy song, you have urge to sing and dance, see your life as one huge joke but in positive sense, you start to laugh and everything makes sense suddenly.
When you are out at night alone and almost no one is outside, in the cold rain, you just look up and let the rain fall on your head, looking like wet chicken, you can smell everything around you. Even though you are alone, you feel like you are not.
>I believe that having little rituals helps keep me anchored and stable even as depression may come and go.
That's true. Even though it's really hard to fall into whirlwind of negative day to day stereotypes, then those tiny rituals are real savior.

Based. Unfortunately I don't have anyone I can cook for but I used to like to cook for my family. That's also pretty comfy if you can cook or bake something and it tastes actually good so family eats it like bunch of hungry dogs.

patrician taste in music anon. I love that album, for me it seems to fit the view of the highway in winter when the sun is setting and I'm about to pull into a decrepit gas station on my way home.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who appreciates being in the rain. I used to go running in the hot summer rain (I live in a subtropical area), and my favorite weather is when the sky is tense and a storm is imminent. You're right, everything smells vivid and bright when it rains, or when it's foggy. Now that I think of it, my best nightwalks have been because of how the fog clings to the empty streets and makes me forget I live in a city, surrounded by people.
Have you ever listened to Moenie and Kitchi by Gregory and The Hawk? It's one of those youtube-reccommended albums that I took a liking to. That one matches nicely with bright mornings and some coffee.

I used to travel with family and friends like that, we were coming home pretty late when sun was setting down. Highways are then really comfy, your brain goes into sort of meditative/half-sleep mode with chill music. I don't know if there is some particular album I have for winter though. During autumn I sometimes listen even to some jazz occasionally, especially Bill Evans but I'm not much into jazz. It's getting harder for me recently to just sit down and enjoy the moment.
>and my favorite weather is when the sky is tense and a storm is imminent.
Yes that's really nice, especially after long hot day but it's very different in-land and f.e. on beach. When I was in Croatia, rain and storms felt very different, the air smelled differently.

Never heard about this. I found it now and it has a bit of emo/math-rock vibe, bit too specific for me but really nice. One time for this feel I had some Kurt Vile in my playlist as well.

ooh, I know what you mean about the smell being different. Where I live now the summer-rain air smells unmistakeably like old bones to me. In Italy it smells more like soil and salt.
Ah, I do love smells and perfumes. I was recently gifted one named Flowerful, and it's indeed a strong floral scent. I like wearing perfumes like a second skin when I'm out and about because of how smells affect the subconscious, and my favorite one so far is probably chanel no. 5.
Unrelated, but what brought you to Hrvatska?

I really like this stuff but unfortunately I'm quite picky because after all it's me who has to be with my smell all day. I don't have time to just go during any time of a day and spend hour in shop picking up something. My friends were dealers for few cosmetics brands and I was buying from them here and there after their advice. I like more fruity smells, especially in summer, only something very very decent.
>Unrelated, but what brought you to Hrvatska?
Vacation. I was there numerous times but it was long time ago. I would rec but stay outside of hotel resorts where daytourists might bother you.

Nightwalks are extremely comfy but that's something every doomer already knows. Walking in the woods at night is also nice.
Playing STALKER while drunk is great.
Eating a good filling meal and then listening to an album I like is one of the best feelings I've been able to get without any kinds of drugs.

why listen to Poppy when you can listen to Mars Argo, the artist that Poppy was groomed to imitate?
That aside, I agree on how having some music playing in the background can improve the mood. Today I played some Souvlaki on my laptop while drafting up some website pages after class. It was really nice to sit there when the day isn't too hot yet, only a couple tables away from a bunch of students yet feeling so far away.
As far as /x/core is concerned, I find Ghostemane to be peak hermetic-bro music. Y'all niggas mind if I praise Thoth and all that. Grimes is also a bit /x/ and comfy for night drives, but I need to be in a specific mindset to listen to her.
Underrated comf: disappearing into the woods for days at a time to camp and trap rabbit and smoke my pipe. I'm hoping to fuck off for a couple weeks early in August to do exactly that–I'll post pictures when I get back.
