When i first saw the doomer meme i thought it was funny because it cut deep, i felt personally attacked. it was funny, but i thought it'd die after a couple weeks. But it didn't. instead it's took on a life of its own.

I have a sneaking suspicion that 90% of so-called doomers aren't actually doomers, they've just appropriated the lifestyle.

It's quite upsetting for me because it feels like my entire personality has been stolen. There's cringelords dressing like me, acting like me, listening to the same music as me - not because it came naturally to them, but because they want to fit into the doomer mould. doomer sounds cooler than incel virgin freak i guess.

What makes this board good is that its not a united culture/trend/movement. The only overarching belief is a nihilism towards politics and other trivial shit that people argue over endlessly elsewhere. Its about our individual experiences, without making it about ourselves. I don't think there is are specific standards for doomers, as doomers are exceptions, but I agree that people who change themselves to follow a trend are not particularly impressive.

I don't like strict rules because they do not work, they never did. When it comes to this board, we are connected through some similar ideas, views, experiences, interests or opinions but we are bunch of different people from different countries. i agree with you, as long as i draw air there will be a chance, it may be a very small chance and may ultimately be futile, but i've always been the type to not mind a suicide mission..not because i welcome death but rather because i've always been the type to run head long into adversity and have a sink or swim, live or die mentality when it comes to doing things.

i hope that makes some sort of sense, i can't quite put my finger on it and even if i could i probably couldn't put into words.

like i said before, it's not depression, i view that sort of thing for the weak, i am not weak, despite the state of the world i have a good life, i have done well for myself and i have no doubt that a lot of the people here who are actual doomers will eventually end up doing well for themselves, because you are not black pilled and because you are not a depressive pussy who just gives up, people who are like that tend to have some sort of success over a long enough timeline, even if it's like me, just being reasonably comfortable and raising a family…the "thing" that makes you feel the need for a long contemplative drive will most likely never leave you, it's just the level to which it's at play.

I think of doomer more as a social political label that represents how I feel about myself and the world at large, not so much a trendy sub cultural thing with fashions and shit. I did not start using the word doomer until I saw it as a meme but when I saw it, it clicked immediately and I recognized it as who I am more so than all of the other labels and trends that I have grown up with.

Doomer to me isn't about being depressed all of the time or wearing all black, it's about viewing our world as hopelessly lost due to the failure of spirituality, the imminent collapse of post industrial world, escalating ecological crisis, untennable situations between nuclear powers, and the insidious nature behind pop culture and the pedophile mafia who dispense with it. One should want to watch it all burn. That doesn't mean I'm incapable of enjoying myself.
