There's different stories about Bacon. He claimed to be this ultra degenerate fag, and he was a degenerate fag, but he wasn't as wild as he claimed. People said he was actually rather quiet law abiding and nerdy, an interior decorator or some gay ass shit not a prostitute, already painting but burned all his old shit and started his known work at 35. He also claimed to never practice and do all his paintings in one shot but his studio after he died was full of painted over photographs and scratch work which suggests a preliminary process. He asked a friend to burn them when he died but the guy didn't. Bacon lied allot. It's more interesting though because it leaves more questions than answers about what he was really all about and doing. I like the painting too but he still should have been gassed.

Bacon was essentially a masochist. He chased violent men and often cajoled timid partners into being more violent. He was a skilled interior designer, so I doubt he sold himself for money (but probably did it for the thrills). Since we're on the topic of degeneracy in art that's why I adore Bosch. Very little is known about him but I'm convinced from the analysis I've seen all these strange images can be traced back to the Bible and are meant to teach. It may have been because he was commissioned by the church and just did his job, but we do know he was a member of a religious order and his execution is so unique it's hard not to imagine this must have been intensely personal to him. He's a true believer railing against the depravity and sin around him under the eyes of a judgemental God and the word is law. The exact opposite of modern art. Degenerates want to claim him and make up bullshit so he's one of them but the evidence isn't there and they never can. Instead the mother fucker is painting himself in as a demon who gets to torture the sinners during the apocalypse, or railing against even polyphonic music as sinful. He's that puritan they hate. There's something about that I love so fucking much.

Anything is possible but I doubt that's true. There would have been little to gain from the black paintings especially since they had to be cut out of Goya's walls. If I wanted to fake it I'd paint on canvas, or at least something transportable. They look crude compared to his others but not as if it was done by someone else, more just the difference between meticulous work on canvas and haphazard work on a wall.
