You misspelled "Feudal" as "Feuduel" on the second girl. Normally I'm not a big fan of Waifu cyoas, however, I think you (since you've asked for feedback I'll assume you're the author) added in a girl who might actually be my newly discovered favorite concept.

My choices are Buzz with su - anon.

However this does rely on that being referred to as "initial scenario" so I'm hoping that I'll eventually get the other two. If not I suppose I could live with just su - anon but I might prefer to grab sudo.

I think that the writing jived fine until the very end. The last girls writing seemed discordant somehow. I do like that you're acknowledging that rollshit and other not-even-choose your own adventure games aren't really CYOAs. I'm a big fan of this and therefore I probably won't be able to be a very good judge of quality because of it. Good going.

This is very good, the slides blending together and the different texts all outlines so they don't bleed into the background are good stuff. Only complaint I have is I can't make out the cursive on the post it notes.

You might just be retarded, It's not even real cursive. The only one that's hard to read is Buzz, which says "Don't ask her to divide by zero. She'll figure it out, then make sure you never forget it."

Happy to help. Just credit "someone on the chans" if you get rich with it.

>I'm hoping that I'll eventually get the other two

Nothing stopping you. The narrator's trying to prevent you from going Tetsuo with your powers and blowing up.

If you can figure out a way to get the rest, do it.

>The last girls writing seemed discordant somehow

Ah, you noticed. Honestly, the last section was done in a day, as opposed to the others that took about a week each. I was rushing to finish it before 2019.

>I do like that you're acknowledging that rollshit and other not-even-choose your own adventure games aren't really CYOAs

I'm not, YOU are. You put the fear of god in the poor guy.

I'm happy you like it.

First note's cursive says:

>I thought the "scary dance" was a joke. It's a terror in person. DON'T LET HER DANCE!

Second:

Third:

It depends on the girl.

Smugzilla's can be done, but only after you've adjusted to each ability for a few centuries. Can you stand a few centuries of living with a sociopath, being powerless comparatively, or seeing that mug all day? Choose your suffering.

Chuckles, again, will need some time before she can fully implement what you teach her first. You can eventually add the others, but your first couple of adventures will be defined by which brand of comedy you teach her.

Buzz's is a more permanent one, but if you can figure out a way to get the other effects using the one you chose, I don't see why not.

Thump's is also the same as the first two.

It's not about the destination, but the journey. You'll eventually get them all if you want, but how? That is your adventure.

I like it a lot, definitely more original and interesting than most choose your waifus.

However I think the clown mage has to go, yes two clowns in a non clown themed cyoa IS one too many. Not only that but she really doesn't fit the theme, the other waifus are borderline or actual eldritch abominations and they affect the real world meanwhile clown mage is just "you get teleported to an alt dimension and wacky hijinks ensue".

Anyways I choose Buzz with sudo. A customizable AI daughteru/waifu with seemingly unlimited reality warping powers is just too much to turn down. Sure her changes are temporary but there is a lot you can do with unlimited short term wishes, also her powers only get stronger with time. I want her "base" form to be similar to Kizuna AI, with blue eyes, dark hair, tasteful assets and a cute rather than overtly sexual appearance/demeanor. We would go on a world tour as we explore and develop her powers then after a few years/decades when we are wiser more powerful and maybe a bit bored we'll see about meddling in world affairs maybe try to contact Smugzilla and Thump and become the immortal, indestructible, god-emperor or humanity. Or maybe we'll just fuck off to alternate realities and try to become pokemon masters or whatever.

>two clowns in a non clown themed cyoa IS one too many

So I've told myself. Too late, what's done is done.

>the other waifus are borderline or actual eldritch abominations and they affect the real world

The clown was supposed to be the comfy option. Not only is her option the one laced with the least danger, relatively speaking, but it takes you away from earth such that even if somehow whatever was keeping the other three somehow failed and they all ran amok, you wouldn't be affected by it. It balances the other options, and judging by how much it has been chosen by people that didn't like the others' morality, I'd say it did the job.

>the theme

The theme is randomness. Each section has a distinct style and layout specifically because each option is very disparate from the others.

I'll bear your advice in mind for future work though, thank you.

>her "base" form to be similar to Kizuna AI

That will be her form whenever she appears to you. Bear in mind that manifesting counts as a "wish". She is an illegal "program" after all.

>become the immortal

You already are. The link was established since you were born. The only benefit to your immortality from meeting her is making sure she's well-fed, keeping your "undeath" non-slow.

>alternate realities

Don't exist. At least, no one in the setting available can access them. Stargates canonically travel to far away planets. The clown's "world" is a planet.

Nice build. Sudo is overall the most powerful option provided it's used correctly and creatively. Maybe pay a visit to IT one day?

Ah I see. From how you described her coming out of my phone I though she had a physical presence in the real world regardless of what option you chose. Welp her being only selectively tangible actually makes things easier since she probably needs some socializing before she can run around inconspicuously.

>alternate realities don't exist

Alright world conquest it is then. We can always make anime real afterwards.

>Maybe pay a visit to IT one day

By IT do you mean smugzilla, pennywise or the IT department?

In the first case definitely even if I have immortally regardless, from both a practical point and a moral one it wouldn't be the worst idea to get a handle on the source of my undeathness.

In the second case maybe? Show up with smugzilla and have a creepy clown showdown. Mite be cool although his powers are likely equal or superior to smugzillas so it could be dangerous. then a again if a bunch of teenagers sent him packing it can't be that hard

In the third case I hadn't even though of that. Would Buzz have any power there? I mean I'm assuming that reality's IT department lies outside of our reality so even if I COULD go there I might just be attracting unwanted attention. I mean if you're a hacker would you show up at the HQ of the company you've been infiltrating.

A question about Thump. What exactly where you going for with her? It would seem that she is meant to be some kind of powerful demon but the narrators insistence that shes just a well connected mob boss kinda throws me off. It probably doesn't help that I've never played a zelda game, I only know the portrait is Midna from porn on /v/ and elsewhere.

I meant the IT department.

>Pennywise

He's an adult version of her species. He knows to not appear to the common public, preying on the weak instead. She doesn't see a difference between hunting an infant or a grizzled veteran riding a tank, so her defeats will be frequent unless you're there to guide her.

>visiting IT

If you plan on having Buzz achieve her full potential, you'll need to deal with them eventually. You technically COULD gaslight them, letting them think they're still in control when you are, but that's impractically difficult. Easier to deal with them directly.

They're "IT" in function more than form.

>It probably doesn't help that I've never played a zelda game

I didn't plan on any Zelda references with her. What you see is what you get.

I was going for something comparable to Ranna from Rokudou No Onna-Tachi; a hyper capable evil-incarnate (perhaps literally) that happens to fall in love due to magical influence.

To everyone else, there can be no scarier demon in human form. To you, she's the embodiment of a perfect loving wife.

The childhood pictures imply that her origins are less than human… though why you can see it but he can't is up in the air.

I think this one is around the quality of my favorite waifu cyoas, so I can't offer much suggestions. Most important thing I think you did well was giving the characters more detail/personality than other cyoas do. And making the initial scenarios not mutually-exclusive (aside from Smugzilla's) encourages a bit of thought as to how the scenario would play out, instead of just picking the "best" one. The graphic design is great as well.

Maybe expand a bit on the challenges you'd face with each girl. As someone mentioned, Thump's description is written a bit inconsistent. A bit more subtlety in the time-traveler's fear of Thump would get the point across just fine. It'd be nice to hear a bit more of how the girls spoke, if that doesn't break the immersion. You only really get to hear a lot from Buzz.

Thought this was really well done, so I'd like to see more cyoas like this if anyone knows some.

Thanks. It's gratifying, though draining.

>Maybe expand a bit on the challenges you'd face with each girl

I'd love to, but I'd promised myself I'd limit it to one page. You may have noticed how everything is tight with almost no wasted space? It's because I was already struggling with space constraints. If I hadn't limited myself, it may have exploded to a 4-6 pager, and compactness is a desirable quality.

>A bit more subtlety in the time-traveler's fear of Thump would get the point across just fine

I'll keep that in mind for future work. As it stands, I wrote her in one night, as opposed to the week each of the others took.

>It'd be nice to hear a bit more of how the girls spoke

I don't think I would've had the space. For some idea though:

>Smugzilla is a romantic Pennywise. Monstrous

>Chuckles is an eternally optimistic clown

>Thump is Ranna from Rokudou No Onna-Tachi, with a tinge more refinement and cunning.

I put a lot for Buzz because there was a chance to do it without breaking immersion or flow. I also had too much fun (read: work) designing her segment.

>I'd like to see more cyoas like this if anyone knows some

Depends on what you mean by that. I made one other complete cyoa here >>12257. My format is also heavily inspired by ZBG's, who made this cyoa and others (you'll see I may have in my haste made my last choice very similar to his. I have no excuse).

I think you are using your self-imposed "one page limit" as an excuse. If you could have made the CYOA better by making it longer you should have done so. Granted, expanding the characters so their description/dialog alone covers a full page each would not have been the way to go, but I still think you could have managed to make something better.

I assure you friend, it's not an excuse. I had considered adding a section where you see diary entries (or something approximating) of each waifu, maybe even depending on which option you chose with her. I didn't want to go overboard because my last cyoa wasn't too well-received partly due to its length compared to the amount of choices therein.

If you want to judge me at my best, refer to that one. This particular one was merely an exercise to improve my technique and test some methods. I had even promised myself to not include any mystery boxes or game-changing easter eggs.

My next work will contain my work ethic in full, hopefully.

Of course, I will not debate that I couldn't have something better, since that would be wrong. That said, I worked within space constraints, and rushed to release it before 2018, so iterative polish wasn't a factor. I'm also still growing as an author.

Regardless, thank you for your trust in my capabilities. Look forward to my future work, and if you want, check out the last one, I still check in on that thread periodically, in case you have a build or a question. There are yet two mystery boxes to be discovered.

I wouldn't mind another page, or a bit more vertical space. More content is good as long as it's purposeful. Adding something relevant to you and the girl makes sense, whole sections for hair-color aren't.

I couldn't really think of more meaningful stuff to add about the girls. I mean, I considered a section where you see what each of them gifted you in the future (Smugzilla a balloon and some other toys, Chuckles some clown makeup and a mysterious pig's bladder…etc), but I didn't think it'd add that much. There was also the aforementioned diary excerpts. Sadly, I was under the impression (up until just now, in fact) that I had reached 10000px and couldn't add anymore to it without going against the goal I'd set for myself at the start: make a good "companion" cyoa in one page.

I recognize this could've been more, but I also recognize that sometimes less is more. Such sections might have limited the girls' characters and your future with them by spelling out what you would've done with them. I decided to add small warnings from (You) about each girl and to leave it at that.

At the end of the day, it's just a waifu picker.

I promise that I'll do my best to give better and more whole content in my future works using what I've learned here. Thank you, and have a nice day.

There's a bit of a contradiction with Smugzilla. At first it says you are guaranteed to exist "as long as she doesn't offend anything more powerful than her". That seems to mean that as long as something doesn't kill her for good, you can't die, and (normal) humans can't do it. However, it later says "the longer she's out of commission, the longer it takes for your "undying-ness" to kick in."

So which is it, am I immortal as long as she exists, or am I only immortal if she can somehow stop getting shot at all the time?

When he says something "more powerful than her", he means something that knows a method to kill her. When humans shoot her full of holes or drop a tsar bomba at her, she's just disabled. Her species are powerful, but members of her own species (or a species more powerful) can kill her.

So yeah, when humans destroy her body, they're just putting her out of commission until she regenerates. When something more powerful comes at her… she could permanently die.

Think of it like vampires. You can shoot them all day long, but if you don't strike their heart with a stake, they'll just keep reviving forevermore.

Yes, THAT part was obvious. The part I'm questioning is the "undying-ness" part. Are you guaranteed to exist as long as she technically lives, or only as long as she isn't put "out of commission" temporarily? The text is contradictory.

You're immortal regardless. The question how long it takes for you to regenerate, or revive. If she's well-fed and safe, it shouldn't take more than a day. If she's starved, it could take weeks or even months. If she's disabled (sliced up by a chainsaw), it could go as long as a year or more.

True. I rushed the release before I could come up with a different design to distinguish the two. I settled on "he's showing you pictures on his wall *GLITCH* now he's showing you the asphalt walls of a prison cell to try and associate his hated enemy with prison and suffering". Hit or miss.

>use of /cyoa/ jargon impacts suspension of disbelief, I feel

Only jargon I used was "ROLLSHIT", and that one would be recognized by every regular cyoa player. It was meant to demonstrate that the average anon would launch into a frenzy if they feel like their perfect scenario was a result of someone flipping the dice rather than letting them have some form of autonomy (the irony seems to have been lost on everyone so far).

I'm fond of them all, but I think Kiss wins out on pure charm. Our Zillah is like an adorable, juggalo shaped, death note. We'll spend quiet tidy decades going over the intricacies of the genre. The transgression, the chase, the denouement. Our own tiny sinister Dexter, dealing out vigilante grindhouse justice. Like batman, if batman dressed like something people are actually afraid of.

A fair assessment. I maintain, however, that if one knows for a surety that out little it girl is clowning around then the moral option is to make sure she doesn't do anything we might regret.

I don't much care for Marshmello peeps. I don't know that anyone does, but if I were an obligate peepovore, I would try to eat the ones that deserved it.

The Kiss is probably closer to death than being erased. I don't quite know what strange moods might take someone who isn't quite me, what I might create. But I like to think that even if the only raw materials she gives me to work with are scrimshaw, I would still try to build a better world. Zillah is, after all, the mother of invention.

Depends on your morality. To some, "Out of sight out of mind" very much applies. If it didn't, then you're obligated to get them all, if not to waifu them, then to at least help them in their predicaments.

>Marshmello peeps

What?

>I don't quite know what strange moods might take someone who isn't quite me

I might have exaggerated the effect it has on you. It just makes you feel uncomfortable if you aren't creating, or using your creations to create more to some degree. Then again, you can create ANYTHING, so I'm sure you can make something to mitigate the effects somehow. Won't be easy though. Might not be worth it even.

>the only raw materials she gives me to work with are scrimshaw

The inspiration for the cyoa was a series of writeups I got for my builds on a certain cyoa.

That's just my credits to the anons that gave me the ideas.

Sry, the hour is late, my metaphors are getting a bit too lateral, and I didn't proofread so good.

OUR little IT girl is clowning around, and the most in need of supervision. The department can keep Buzz in line for the time being, Chuck is a net positive on her world, and I don't think that I could curtail Bumps empire building. To be quite honest I find the qt cannibal sociopath less disquieting than the beautiful genius that has been cursed to love me by a demon. Her extrapolation was correct I do need time. She can do better.

Marshmello is a rapper and an oblique reference to cannibalism. If she needs to kill ppl then she should kill ppl that need killing. Similarly scrimshaw, bone carving, I'll build a better world out of the bones of murderers and rapists and stockbrokers. Just more kira posting.

As for actual stuff, an exowomb that can grow brain dead clones comes to mind. She prolly feeds on terror or needs to destroy a living soul or a lifetime of experience or something but its worth a go. Maybe abortions count. We'll open up a clown themed clinic and give it a try.

Zillah is indeed the mother of invention. In the book of genesis, she is six generations removed from cain, she has four children. They, the seventh generation, mark the beginning of civilization and each of them invents some necessary art. Specifically: pastoralists (Jabal), instrumentalists (Jubal), metallurgists (Tubal-Cain), and vocalists (Naamah). I quite like the juxtaposition.

So there was a game beyond the game, I'll take a look. Thanks again for taking the time to build this stuff. Maybe I'll use my supernatural autism to build a cyoa worthy of our harlequin.

>She can do better

Don't let her hear you say that. She'd be torn between wanting to rip your tongue out for that blasphemy and reminding herself that you're you.

Don't let her contemplate suicide.

>cannabilism

Does it count as cannibalism if she's not anywhere near human?

>an exowomb that can grow brain dead clones comes to mind

Cool. It might work, provided human flesh is what she needs to feed. Canonically, Deadlights feed on fear. Not any cheap fear either.

>Zillah

I'll be honest, the character names were the lowest effort I'd spent on this cyoa. I just thought of the first simple name that came to mind. Hell, "Smugzilla" was just a placeholder, much like "Snap", before I decided to just keep them.

>there was a game beyond the game

Nothing so grand. Just an interactive cyoa where you make a build and another anon tries to make a writeup to describe it. Many of the writeups are actually cyoa worthy. This one was what I settled on, after getting so many good ones.

>hanks again for taking the time to build this stuff

It's no trouble, just wanted to git gud for my actual project. Mass Effect: Choices Matter.

>Maybe I'll use my supernatural autism to build a cyoa worthy of our harlequin

Love is such a cruel device.

The shape shifting fifth dimensional spider made of orange fire is so approachable, by comparison.

And the little Wild Thing said: 'I want to have a soul to worship God, and to know the meaning of music, and to see the inner beauty of the marshlands and to imagine Paradise.'

And the Oldest of the Wild Things said to it: 'What have we to do with God? We are only Wild Things, and of the kith of the Elf-folk.'

But it only answered, 'I want to have a soul.'

Then the Oldest of the Wild Things said: 'I have no soul to give you; but if you got a soul, one day you would have to die, and if you knew the meaning of music you would learn the meaning of sorrow, and it is better to be a Wild Thing and not to die.'

Also, I watched IT for the first time today lol. Keeping our little devil under control is going to be a little more complicated than I first thought.

Current state of things, any broad strokes that have been missed?

Top level blue/orange For every blue you take you have to take an orange

Blue: Science, Pygmalion, something?

Orange: Shapechange, Psionic stuff, Clever Girl?

Science:

Social science(the games we play),

“The games they play become so simple, tawdry. You know what they want, what they’ll do, better than they ever will. In the end she’s be the only one who can still surprise you.”

economics(the black/bleak? science),

“You’ll never be short of the little chits and ledgers that they build their lives around. Wherever you go there will always be deals to be made. There will always be buyers desperate for you art.”

memory / math

“Your working memory unfolds into the empty places. You can keep any number of things in mind. Given time, your mind can accomplish anything. Anything but forget.”

parkour,

“Time, distance, trajectory, such calculations become trivial. You have perfect control over the way your body moves and the way your body moves the world. You can dance on the roof of a train, mid-crash. Throw a needle into a bullet. Fly a scram jet through a forest.”

precision

It’s the little things that matter most, and you see them all. You can measure parts down to the micron just by looking. Etch integrated circuits by hand. The more you surround yourself with your creations the more this imperfect world grates against your senses.”

dimensional science(dreams in? the witch house),

psychotronics

Pygmalion:

Culture

Hunting/Horror

Vigilantism

Lewd

hobbies

Shape

Teleportation

Clone

Inanimate stuff?

Kill plants? (little lights)

Range, genus loci? Root : brain embraces whole continent

Telekinesis

Empathy/telepathy

Illusions(mind games)

Brain washing, mind control, add remove memories?

Its certainly off topic, but as the work is derivative, this is the intended thread.

The idea, I suppose, is for Pygmalion to roughly correspond to Hug, the options each shaping its personality in some way. Science, then, corresponds to Kiss and variations on that theme. For every option the player takes they also have to take an option from its section. Thematically, its power grows as the connection deepens, making it harder to control.

Its a waifu builder. The core conflict being that your waifu can't be killed and you have to stop her from killing and eating children.

I wondered if you had any suggestions as to powers/limitations for the player or if I had missed any of its canonical abilities.

Not sure what system you're following here.

Wait, you're making a cyoa off this? I'm flattered.

Let's see (most of this is kind of unclear to me, it might be because this is a late hour):

>colors

Nice enough system. Reminds me of Fey path.

Doesn't sound like the orange is gonna be drawbacks though. Unless it's stuff she inflicts on you?

>shapechange

I'd think that should be a blue instead of an orange. It is by definition what "Hi" does, for the most part.

That's assuming you're trying to follow what I have written. It's not bad to diverge a bit.

If you want, you can read the discussion I had with the anon that actually thought up her concept. Might give you ideas for limitations and such:

https://desuarchive.org/trash/thread/18917320/#18962046

The "obsessive" factor should come into play, but shouldn't be debilitating if handled smartly.

The way I thought is that the more linked you are with her, the more influence you have over her (you understand her), but also the more alien your nature might change. It's why you need a long period before doing any of the actions in succession; the longer you have to adjust, the more of yourself you can keep.

Maybe implement a subsystem such that the more powers you take now, the more alien your permanent mindstate becomes. Give it centuries, and you can add more abilities maybe. Then again, most anons might claim that they can wait for centuries just so they can keep a low score. In that case, you should add a reason why they'd want to get as much power as possible right now. Maybe an omnipresent threat besides the drawbacks? Maybe in the start she gives your words no weight, so you either try to stop her by subtle actions (if she finds out, she kills you… you'll get better), using what powers you chose cleverly, or by taking so many powers that you both can stop her by brute force and she has no reason to ignore your suggestions because you're technically a limb of hers.

In such a case, the Pygmalion may be a copout option where you choose to change her nature instead, as well as customizing your waifu. Wouldn't get any sweet powers though. It might be fine for the comf-lovers though. If you don't want there to be any sort of comfy option, you'll have to either rework Pygmalion, or add an external threat for which you'd need to take some sort of powers/prepare some plans to deal with.

I can see it's going nicely. Can't give you any feedback on the options without descriptions at the moment.

The descriptions are nice so far. I like the sciences you came up with.

In my opinion, as long as the powers don't trivialize whatever antagonistic force you're trying to deal with.

Is economics a luck skill?

Precision sounds like it comes with its own drawbacks, which would be fine if it was alone, but a little harsh in the presence of other drawbacks. Either separate drawback from power, or make sure to add a drawback to the other powers like Parkour (must live life on the edge) and Social (become jaded to humans as a whole, barring select few, like Chuckles).

That's enough jabbering from me for now. Keep me updated. Good luck.

Also, try Artstation and Pixiv. They've served me well for the most part, and the art quality isn't half bad, provided you know how to filter through the drivel.

Neat, didn't know there was that much to It's lore besides "scary clown eats kids". I see our Smugzilla could be a tad more formidable than I'd initially anticipated, though she yet lacks in power and appetite to be too much of a threat. It also calls into question her true origins, seeing as It was just a form the deadlights manifested through. Perchance she could be a newer incarnation made after the last form failed? Made to mimic the children that slew it in the hopes of learning their power and becoming truly unstoppable? Or could it have sought the other (not the stupid turtle), found it, and… made a joint monster between the two? Truly a fearsome thought. A child born between a monster true, and a monster unknown.

This looks interesting (an expanded version of Snap… or one of its routes?)

But also confusing

There's four choices that "consume" nothing, and "gain" one of the three options, which apparently refer to three completely separate routes that are listed at the end of the page and seem to coincide with the fourth choice… And while the latter part does make sense, the first three choices are so much lacking in context that the whole section is simply confusing (not to mention, even after reading the whole page, I have no clue as to what these choices result in, mechanics-wise).

>one of its routes?

A "what if the time traveler's roll of the dice landed on Smugzilla, and so he chose her for you and didn't bother providing any sort of context?".

>"consume" nothing

I haven't balanced it yet, but the intent is that some options cost tokens, others do not cost anything.

>"gain" one of the three options

Not options, tokens. Or "paths". They signify the flavor your adventure takes. An option where you gain a green for example is an option that keeps you and Smugzilla closer to humanity and humans, at least more than the other options. The "paths" are abstract, and I didn't want to tie them down with a specific meaning yet. I plan to elaborate more in a 1.5 ELI5 page about the mechanics and lore.

>the fourth choice

While the tokens help quantify the general theme of your adventure, the fourth choice is different in that it decides the exact nature of your relationship and future with Smugzilla for a long time to come. In a nutshell, Green is homeless hero, Blue is CEO, Red is hired killer. It becomes more obvious when you read the other pages.

>the first three choices are so much lacking in context

I guess I'll need to elaborate that section too. The purpose of the first three choices is to set the tone of the whole cyoa, as well as allow you to decide some of the interesting dynamics about the thing. It should become clearer once you actually finish your path, what each of these options signified. For now, they're just there.

>what these choices result in, mechanics-wise

Nothing aside from extra tokens, as well as letting you decide some of the themes of your adventure (on the moon? drug-fueled?…etc).
