Do you have a Master's in electrical engineering AND ten years experience in cybersecurity AND a current active government security clearance? Then you can apply for a government infosec job, though if you're a huh-WITE! male and you don't put muh made-up pronouns in your resume and show up to any interview you might get wearing a dress, you ain't getting in.
I got Security+ and CASP+ two years ago. They have done absolutely fucking nothing for me. The community college where I got them says "you only took classes for a cert and didn't get any semester hour credits, so no job placement assistance 4u, lol." A year and a half later they emailed me about a "tech job fair" they were having. "Tech jobs" apparently now mean loading dock stoop labor, landscaping stoop labor (that shovel must be really high-tech), telemarketing, and selling insurance door to door.
If you're already in that cushy GS17 can't-be-fired government job, the certs mean your supervisor can check the box on the form and you can get a promotion to GS18 and a raise. If not, the certs don't do SHIT f or you, and you're going to be the best educated barista at Starbucks.
