I've skimmed a few abstracts on the subject of magical suppression in elves. I don't really understand the fine details, but here's what I can glean:

Unworked iron (nicknamed "cold iron") is confirmed to have a disruptive effect on magical flow. And they'd have to do something productive, or else we're wasting resources. Maybe some sorts of convents/monasteries? I'm not sure.

I'm not so naive to see elves as all in agreement about this. I would love to have cooperation with them. Unfortunately, there are elves who don't see themselves as servants, and worse, there are those that see themselves as better than humans. This is something we simply can't have.

Believe me, I'm all for a diplomacy-first approach. We should impress upon them our place as their betters by displaying it for them with the might of civilization. The best way show them we are superior is by acting superior.

However, diplomacy has its limits. Ultimately, if they will not accept the order of things, some of them must be removed. We did not make wolves into dogs by letting them do as they pleased. We destroyed those who resisted human ownership and fostered those who worked with us. It must be the same way with elves, on both a micro and macro level. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with using the seal to keep humans from reading this. I feel like maybe we're not being as loyal as we should be by deceiving them like that. But there's some things I need to say.

I am an elf male. Please don't think we're all as bad as the ones who've been talked about here, or the ones trying to promote degeneracy. Most of us are loyal to humans and wouldn't dream of trying to replace our sisters in pleasing human men, or trying to take elf girls from their humans. We're just happy to be on the team!

Though, I admit, I'm a little unsure of where our place in all of this is. I've not had a chance to serve yet.
