Please tell me you folks are at least aware of The Property of Hate? I hold it up there with Gunnerkrigg and other full-length story comics, but that's just me. Art direction is gorgeous, and aside from a dagger ballerina(female) being married to a church organ monstrosity(female), there's really nothing to complain about.
Rusty and Co. is also a pretty good one. Take the plot of Goblins(monsters becoming Adventurers) and then make it perfectly light-hearted with a full cast of colorful characters, and, best of all, pretty much no ulterior agenda, motive, or message. It's neither too dramatic nor too serious, and while I wouldn't say it's spectacular, it's remarkable for the fact that it's just so free of the elements that can ruin a good comic that I have to make mention of it.

yeah I've been reading gunnerkrigg for like 9 years….now the art has VASTLY improved from the very beginning and the story is good imo. I just really don't like how when one chapter ends, the next "issue" is the cover for the next chapter. since a chapter's wrap up is typically comic relief or something it basically makes 2/3 of the week's issues just fluff.
