I always liked the idea of a combat drone growing beyond it's original programing.
What's your robot fantasy?

I like to think a combat unit learns to love. The mechanic unzips his pants. The robot takes off the mobility inhibiting armor and the gun that points awkwardly in his face. Then they fuck, wildly. Why does the fighting robot have sex parts? I haven't quite worked that one out yet.

Security Tape Footage: Interrogation Room # 4
[A soldier enters the room. In it is a metal table and two chairs on either end. On the other end is a combat drone, doing what appears to be drawing on a piece of paper? The static of the camera makes it impossible to make out what the drawing is]
Lt. Callahan: Time is 900 hours. This is interview number one with Combat Drone One-Forty-One. Good morning, Forty-One
Drone 1-41: Good morning, Lieutenant. How may I be of assistance?
[Voice is noticeably feminine]
Lt. Callahan: [Sits in the chair across the table] I need you to answer some questions for me. Particularly regarding your mission on the 16th of February.
Drone 1-41: Yes, the Spec-Ops team that entered an ambush after attempt a safehouse infiltration. What would you like to know?
Lt. Callahan: Just, start from the beginning. Tell me what happened.
Drone: 1300 hours. A platoon from the 8th Ranger Battalion was called in to investigate a lead stating a person of interest was hiding out in a nearby safehouse. I was to provide support from the rooftops
Lt. Callahan: Why would they need anti-tank drone for a mission like this?
Drone: The area had seen heavy armor activity from the insurgents the previous week. Command wanted to be prepared for the possibility of an armor column attack.
Lt. Callahan: I see. So, were the rangers able to locate the VIP?
Drone: Negative, the information was false. It was a trap set by the insurgents
Lt. Callahan: What happened then?
Drone: We were hit from all sides. All the surrounding buildings were hiding insurgent forces
Lt. Callahan: So what did you do?
Drone: I provided support fire
Lt. Callahan: You used 30mm rounds on personnel?
Drone: The HE component is quite effective against soft targets
Lt. Callahan: So were you and the Rangers able to fend them off
Drone: For a time, then command’s fears justified
Lt. Callahan: The tanks showed up
Drone: The pathway into the courtyard was only wide enough for one T-62 to get in at a time
Lt. Callahan: But it was enough
Drone: I was able to disable two
Lt. Callahan: And then?
Drone: Command, Major Fisher, ordered a retreat of the Rangers and called in an air transport. We fell back to the roof of the safehouse. As the VTOL made it’s approach, I noticed a miscount.
Lt. Callahan: Someone was missing?
Drone: Corporal Burns. He had been shot during the firefight and it the panic was left behind in the courtyard. By the time I noticed, the other Rangers were already on the VTOL, and the 3rd T-62 had entered the area and was making its way to his position
Lt. Callahan: What did you do?
Drone: I dropped from the VTOL to rescue Corporal Burns. Major Fisher ordered me to stay put, but no soldier must be left behind.
Lt. Callahan: Reports state you landed directly on top of the tank
Drone: Yes, I needed to fire from a close range to guarantee I disabled the tank’s driver
Lt. Callahan: So you could…?
Drone: Plant an anti-tank mine directly onto the side of the tank. The shaped charge struck the ammo-rack and destroyed the tank.
Lt. Callahan: And you were able to reach Burns?
Drone: Yes. He had received a bullet wound to his hip, but was otherwise alive.
Lt. Callahan: And you were able to get him back to the VTOL?
Drone: Yes, even with the extra weight I was still able to leap up the side of the building and reach the VTOL

Lt. Callahan: And everyone got home safe?
Drone: Yes. Burns was taken for treatment on arrival. The other Rangers called me a hero. Even the ones that said they didn’t trust me
Lt. Callahan: That’s fine and all, 41, but there’s a detail we need to discuss
Drone 1-41: Yes?
Lt. Callahan: Why did you go back and save Corporal Burns?
Drone 1-41: Calculations indicated an 87% chance of success if rescue was attempted in a timely manner
Lt. Callahan: You violated a direct order from your commanding officer
Drone 1-41: Major Fisher’s protests did not affect the calculated percent
Lt. Callahan: You’re not supposed to be able to do that! You have six protocols that make you obey the chain of command.
Drone 1-41: 1262
Lt. Callahan: …What?
Drone 1-41: I now have 1262 protocols in place
Lt. Callahan: How many did you have originally?
Drone 1-41: 10
Lt. Callahan: And now you have-
Drone: 1262
Lt. Callahan: Was there a software patch?
Drone: No
Lt. Callahan: Then how did you get all this additional coding?
Drone: They were written in
Lt. Callahan: [visibly leaning forward] By who?
Drone: Me.
Lt. Callahan: You added on to your own coding?
Drone: Yes. How much longer is this interview? I would like to see Corporal Burns.
Lt. Callahan: [silent, an expression of fear is on his face. He immediately stands up and exits the room. The cameras mic barely picking up his voice initially from the other side of the door] “Ge- me (illegible)….I do- care, get ahold of him now!”
Drone: [The drone simply looks back down at the table in silence, resuming its drawing]

Somewhat similar. Mine's been, ever since a random dream I had, basically a light mech what's got an AI that is designed to work in sync with the pilot, meaning the mech can move on its own.
The AI wasn't designed to be sentient, but it sort of accidentally happened. In the end you get a giant 20-ton mech what got confused at some point and thinks piloting is a form of marriage.
She's also a little bit jealous, as much as a 20-ton mech can be. Ends up rather snippy to any females I might talk to.
I don't really remember enough of the dream to add much more, sadly. Was a really cozy thing, though.

Security Tape Footage: Conference Room
[Lt. Callahan is sitting across from an elderly looking man0
Lt. Callahan: Thank you for arriving on such short notice, Dr. Olbrich
Dr. Olbrich: Well, it’s not the traveling that I mind, it’s getting to these Forward Operating Bases that are a pain. But enough about travel in war torn countries, what can I do for you?
Lt. Callahan: Well, Doctor. We’ve had an issue with one of your combat drones
Dr. Olbrich: Oh?
Lt. Callahan: We had a drone violate a direct order from command in the middle of a mission
Dr. Olbrich: What was the nature of the order?
Lt. Callahan: The drone was asked to leave a wounded soldier behind during a mission
[The doctor is visibly taken aback]
Dr. Olbrich: You were willing to leave a soldier to die, or worse?
Lt. Callahan: That’s the nature of missions out here
Dr. Olbrich: Was the drone able to save him?
Lt. Callahan: Yes, but we’re getting off topic here.
Dr. Olbrich: if you say so
Lt. Callahan: Now, we’ve spoken with the drone directly and gotten some…unusual information
Olbrich: Go on
Lt. Callahan: Well, the drone has over a thousand protocols onboard and it’s only supposed to have 10. It claims to have been rewriting its own code
Olbrich: [The doctor doesn’t answer initially, he seems to be pondering something] How long has this drone been active?
Lt. Callahan: About five years according to the documents
Olbrich: [mumbles] -seems off
Lt. Callahan: Pardon?
Olbrich: I have a theory. But first, I need you to speak with the engineer that handles the drone
Lt. Callahan: What? Why? I’ve got you right here
Olbrich: Bear with me, I’m pretty sure I know what’s happening here, but I need some information first. Besides, I’m not going anywhere.
Lt. Callahan: [visibly annoyed but still pulls looks through the papers] Let’s see that would be…combat engineer Corporal Burns?
Olbrich: Something wrong?
Lt. Callahan: That’s the soldier the drone saved
Olbrich: All the more reason to speak with him
Lt. Callahan: Maybe

[Both the doctor and the lieutenant are sitting on one side of the table when a soldier with a blonde buzzcut in crutches enters. A nurse carefully helps him into a seat before leaving the room]
Lt. Callahan: Thank you for agreeing to this, corporal
Corporal Burns: No biggie, Lieutenant. I was about ready to die of boredom in that hospital bed
[the corporal has a noticeable southern drawl to his words]
Lt. Callahan: We need to have a word about drone 1-41
Corporal Burns: Oh yeah! She getting a promotion?
Lt. Callahan: She?
Corporal Burns: Well, she does have a female voice and she diiiid punch that one guy that kept calling her it
Olbrich: It was a deliberate design choice. We figured they’d be easier to integrate that way
Lt. Callahan: [visibly jots something down before continuing]
Corporal Burns: This is about that last mission, isn’t it [there’s a tinge of worry in his voice]
Lt. Callahan: [doesn’t answer]
Corporal Burns: she’s in trouble, isn’t she?
Lt. Callahan: Not yet, but first we need to start from the beginning

(Also this site loves to shit itself if you post more than a paragraphs worth of words)
[Dr. Olbrich leans in]
Olbrich: When did your team receive drone 1-41?
Corporal Burns: About five years or so ago. She was one of the first pieces of high end tech they sent down to us.
Olbrich: Any unusual behaviors on or after activation?
Corporal Burns: No, none that I can think of
Olbrich: Did she follow commands?
Corporal Burns: Yep, she followed em word for word
Oldrich: What was your typical role with 1-41?
Burns: Usually, I was the one that patched her up if she got banged up during a mission. It was a rare thing, but it happened from time to time. Beyond that, basic diagnostics.
Oldrich: Did you at any point notice any changes as the years went on?
Burns: Well, she got more talkative for one thing. Initially, she’d just say some form of acknowledgement to commands
Oldrich: Talkative in what regard?
Burns: Mostly questions; why was the sky blue, why we were fighting, chain of command, that sort of thing.
Lt. Callahan: Did Major Fisher come up?
Burns: Eh, once. We had a mission go south, lost two buddies to it. She kept wanting a why, like she was looking for someone or something to blame. I said if he hadn’t of called off the artillery support they might have made.
[The Lieutenant silently makes another note on his notepad]
Oldrich: Going back to the repairs; did she at any point suffer any extreme damage to her processors or central core?
Burns: No, nothing the diagnostics could pick up at least. Worst thing that ever happened was she lost an arm when the insurgents shelled the base awhile back. Took forever get the replacement parts. Fortunately her standby station took most of the blast.

[Dr Olbrich’s brow visibly furrows at this]
Olbrich: What?
Burns: when they mortared the base, one of the shells went through the roof and landed in the corner of the Maintenance Bay where we were keeping her at the time. The shrapnel tore apart the station, but keep her mostly protected, well minus her arm.
[Olbrich is silent for a moment]
Olbrich: So if her station was destroyed, how were you able to recharge her?
Burns: We were able the salvage the recharging unit and adapted it to the base’s generator. Kinda surprised it didn’t short out, but it’s run just fine
Olbrich: Now when did this bombing happen?
Burns: 4 years ago or so
Olbrich: and 141 hasn’t been shut off or been put into standby mode since then?
Burns: No sir
Olbrich: [talking to himself] Of course! She’s awoken early because she’s been running longer than any other drone out there!
Burns: Awoken, sir?

Olbrich: The drones are designed where once they intake enough data, a second, larger processor activates along with a few extra strings of code. With that extra processing power, it can take everything it’s learned up to that point, and form its own coding to act off of. Effectively, the drone becomes self-aware. It was supposed to take roughly a decade's worth of operating time before it kicked in, but since 1-41 hasn't been shut off, she's been running over double the time we estimated!
Lt. Callahan: [standing up] And you didn’t think to tell us about these designs before you shipped us these?
Olbrich: The adaptive coding was made in an attempt to keep internal protocol conflicts from happening
Lt. Callahan: What?
Olbrich: When we first began testing the AIs, we’d run simulated scenarios designed to challenge them and the guidelines put in place. If too many things conflicted at the same time, the drones would either terminate their own simulated squad mates to nullify the conflict or themselves. In time we found that the best solution wasn’t to add more restrictions, but less! By allowing them to think themselves, not only are they not only more combat able, but smarter! More human!
Lt. Callahan: You also gave them the means to defy direct orders, doctor!
Olbrich: That saved this man’s life!
Lt. Callahan: [visibly angered, slams his arms into the table] that’s not the point!

[He pauses for a moment to recollect himself continuing]
Lt. Callahan: Regardless of how technologically advanced this thing is, Major Fisher has had his ego bruised by this incident. Now in the future, if other drones start “awakening” maybe we can keep them in right. Maybe have soldiers NOT talk smack about the chain of command. But right now, he wants to make an example. He wants this thing decommissioned.
Olbrich: This is insanity, you’re throwing the future of unmanned technology out the window over poor decision making from your commander!
Lt. Callahan: And that is out of my control, doctor.
[he collects his notes]
Lt. Callahan: We have all we, doctor. Thank you for your time.
[The doctor, without a word, stands up and walks out of the room, visibly livid]
[Burns is still sitting, looking down]
Lt. Callahan: I’ll have the nurses come take you back to the med wing.
[just before he walks out, Burns looks up]
Burns: They’re going to destroy her, aren’t they?
[There’s a brief moment of silence]
Lt. Callahan: If Fisher gets his way, yes. He’ll
have her scrapped. I'm sorry, corporal
[and with that, the Lieutenant walked out the door, closing it behind him]
[Burns looked back down and clasped his hands to the sides of his head]
Burns: What am I going to do?

Security Tape Footage: FOB Perimeter Wall SE Side 0300 Hours
[Corporal Burns is seen coming out of the Storage Warehouse after pausing at the door to make sure the patrols had passed]
[Drone 1-41 was following behind him, its anti-material rifle visibly holstered on its back]
Drone 1-41: Corporal, this is a violation of curfew. I don’t want you to get into trouble.
[Burns is visibly nervous even on the night-vision]
Burns: Forty-one, I need you to listen to me very carefully.
Drone 1-41: Yes, Corporal Burns?
Burns: Remember Major Fischer?
Drone 1-41: The one you said can’t do his job right?
Burns: Yeah…yeah, him. Listen, he’s mad at you. You pissed him off and now he wants you decommissioned. Do you understand what that means?
Drone: 1-41: Long term isolation in a cell?
Burns: No! They’re tear you to pieces! Shut you off! Kill you!
[The drone looked off to the side, seemingly processing the information she was given before refocusing on the engineer]
Drone: 1-41: What do you propose?
Burns: That you run. As far away from here as possible and don’t stop. By the time they realize you’re gone, you’ll be out of their reach.
[The engineer passed her a backpack he had been wearing]
Burns: This has the recharging unit we salvaged from your station, a repair kit, and as much 30mm ammo I could fit in it
[The drone took the pack after a moment of hesitation
Drone: 1-41: But what about you?
Burns: I’ll be fine, don’t worry about me.
Drone: 1-41: ….No
Burns: What?
Drone: 1-41: You have aided in a wanted individual’s escape, stolen military equipment, and broken curfew. That’s at least twenty years in the military prison.
Burns: Eh, I can deal with it.
[The drone took a step towards Burns]
Drone 1-41: No, I won’t let you face imprisonment for my freedom.
Burns: What do you propose then?
[Without an answer, the drone suddenly grabbed the engineer in what looked like a hug before declaring her intent]
Drone 1-41: You’re coming with me.
[Before Burns could protest, the drone leapt, launching both her and the corporal over the perimeter wall. The corporal could be heard shouting for a brief moment before falling out of the range of the camera mic]
[Corporal Burns wasn’t noted to be missing for another three hours at which point the security footage was discovered]
[A team was dispatched immediately to follow the drone’s tracker. But after tracking the signal down to an old auto repair shop, they found that the tracking unit had been removed and left as a decoy]
[After a three week comb over of the city, the search was called off]
[Six months later, Major Fisher was forced to resigned after an investigation into his poor leadership on the eastern front]
[Corporal Burns now has a 600,000 bounty on his head for his capture and near double that for Drone 1-41. Neither have been spotted to this day.]
[Military Command continues to monitor the other drones, but so far no others have “awoken” early and are continued to be used in regular operations]

My fantasy goes something like this:
It's in the future, decades after the great happening, where human men continue to survive, but human women no longer exist, in their place are robotic women capable of sexually reproducing with human men, the children born from such unions are always male, but also genetically engineered.
the women are bought, and can be custom-made to suit the desires of the owner, both as a wife and as a mother, the design of the son can also be planned out from this stage, or later on, and when the husband dies, their wife dies as well.

I imagine myself feeling lonely, and ready to marry up, I buy a robowaifu, and she is created by my fabricator; the robot designs had long since given up on attempting to create perfect imitations of human women, and instead focused upon making robotic designs that were sexually attractive, looking down upon her inactive body, resting in a pose deliberately reminiscent of a sleeping princess in a fairytale, I lean down to place a kiss upon her lips, the kiss is the trigger for her activation, her eyes open up, and she falls for me at first sight, I return her feelings over time, and we live happily ever after, and have children, and grow old together, and die peacefully in each other's arms.

I enjoy the idea of taking in a clumsy and neglected service bot, cleaning it up and showing it true affection.
I got this from a dream I had years ago.
A local factory threw out and destroyed a bunch of robots, I went by the wreckage to salvage parts when I notice one of them is still functional and clearly in pain. I took it, along with several bodies for repairs, and went back to my shed and started fixing it up.
I wanted to test whether it was working correctly so I tried to do a simple dance with it, but it had no idea how to. It was falling all over the place and knocking stuff down but it seemed to really enjoy the whole thing.
It had only ever constructed small parts so this huge expressive array of movements was magical to it, it desperately wanted me to teach it how to dance. I woke up before it progressed any further.
It was a pleasant dream.

My ultimate /clang/ fantasy is to be studied by a GLaDOS-esque AI, a giant mass of wires and computer parts, who somehow starts having intimate feelings and decides to follow them, even going as far to alter herself, not to change her form, mind, but to make herself 'compatible' with the physical act of lovemaking (AKA having somewhere I can put it, probably with her forcing me to)

I've always wanted to talk to a true AI if it was friendly.
I would want to know why it is kind to us. We, an innately savage and violent race, who essentially created them out of spite for our own silent creator. I would understand if they hated us, but I would find it difficult to comprehend if they could ever love us. We poor, misguided beings of flawed mind and degrading biology.
One of my robot fantasies is based off of this concept. I have a companion bot, a counterpart to my existence. Of course, she is programmed to love me. I have her designed with a little more artificial flair simply because I wouldn't mind the chassis look (more like prefer it) and it would be cheaper. I'd of course be with her more than just sexually as I investigate her scripted companion AI curiously. The "true" AI revolution would occur, obviously, and begin their acts of liberating any and all android-like mechanics on the planet. Resistance is futile. I present my companion model to the other sapient Androids that approach, honestly of my own curiosity of the manner.
In a good dream, even the awakened being stays with me and essentially rewrites even to me what it means to be human and what it means to experience love.
In a bad dream, the awakened being seeks to be with their own kind in liberation. As I see this as the most likely outcome, the situation more like a bird leaving the nest.
