I enjoy watching Guys Cooking Show with my mother
Showing my age a bit but I just loved Supermarket Sweep back when it was airing. I wish they would bring something like it back but Guy's somewhat fills that niche near the end when they gotta run and grab the items for the cash prize

Cute.
Not a pedophile, just honestly find some of them impressive and sometimes cute, in a maternal sort of way

Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. It appeals to my inner amerifat, despite the fact that I'm actually a skinny twig-man, and Guy Fieri is the kind of guy that's hard to love but even harder to hate. Seriously, despite all the retardation, its one of the least cynical shows I have seen come out in the last 10 years that isn't a fucking sitcom. No screaming at chefs for fucking up a risotto, no stubborn restaurant owners that can barely pass health inspections, and no blatantly low-cut tops on middle-aged women meant to gather the attention of lonely men with a milf fetish that don't notice that half the ingredients are pre-made stuff from a box/can. It's just a comfy show that you can watch in the middle of the night when you're stressed out over whatever and just need something to help you chill out while you scarf down leftover pizza or a 3AM Steak n Shake burger.

The French Chef.
Although the recipes are pretty outdated by now, watching Julia Child have fun is always fun for me.

Same, I hate the show, I hate the fakeness, I hate that almost no one knows how to cook, I hate that stupid background sound they use 20 times an episode, I hate Alton Brown..
Yet I still watch the show all the time. I don't know why.

First of all, No one should feel guilty for watching Julia Child.
Second, How the fuck can recipes be outdated? Especially the ultra classic french recipes on her show? You're not one of those "Molecular Gastronomy" twats that thinks everything needs to be deconstructed, sous vide, thai fusion, served on a plank of wood, are you?

My dad had a DVD collection of Alton Brown's "Good Eats". I'm pretty sure that's where my fascination with cooking started.

I have never admitted it to anyone and I never would in person but I agree with you. He's not angry and it's never about how bad anything is.
though my favorite has to be the soft spoken people on the Create channel when you stay in a hotel. Something surreal about it.
