That's how they do it in Italy:
Buy a slice of pizza from a stand or bakery: pizza is usually folded and eaten with hand
Buy a pizza in a trattoria or pizzeria where you sit down to eat: eat with knife and fork like a civilized being. If you have a very thin pizza without many toppings like a margherita you can cut it into like 6 slices, fold them and eat.
