Why buy a sheeps stomach when you can get a pigs stomach aka "Saumagen"?

I feel like these kinds of things should be best experienced fresh. You might end up with a haggis from China or something.

I mean it's alright but not for 39.16 bong tokens. I'm sure you can find someplace in the USA you can get a fresh one for less than getting it shipped.

Wouldn't it be cheap to ask a local butcher to save what he was going to toss in the grinder anyway?

Confirmed by Corporate Overlord Google. We must substitute and Americanize the haggis, for we have no choice. But how?

>The USA FDA doesn't have any consistency or sanity as to what they consider safe to eat or not. For instance, GMOs that are banned elsewhere around the world are perfectly legal in the USA as well as such “wonderful” substances as aspartame, acesulfame-K, propylene glycol (yes they actually put this in our food) saccharin, sucralose, high fructose corn syrup (a higly processed semi-artificial sweetener)
>Lungs are not legal in the USA to eat for the same reason brains aren't. Nasty fluids can get in the lungs as well as blood. But hey, liver is fair game and at one point eating cows that we have forced to be cannibals is fair game;) LOL.
>We also regularly eat cows and their milk products pumped up with growth hormones, antibiotics, fed junk food, corn, etc. Hmm, Makes a lot of sense doesn't it? NOT. And people wonder why they're so obese and sick in the USA. It's not rocket science. No one should be eating any of that stuff.
>That being said I'm trying to figure out what is appetizing about lung. Sounds disgusting to me like eating pigs feet or liver or lambshead or steer balls. It's just grotesque.

Liver tastes fine and is loaded with micronutrients. Certain animals have livers so packed with vitamins you can overdose. Feet taste good, but they're more of a texture thing. The release lots of gelatin and get a nice soft texture. Head has some of the tastiest pieces of meat on the body, especially the cheeks and tongue. I've never had testicles, but if I ever get the chance, I will.

Last I heard, lots of farm animals were still breathing just fine down there. plus, cooked lungs turn into a delicious jelly-like substance
You can get crack at every street corner but you can't make a backhand deal with a farmer to get some organs? pig works fine if you can't get sheep .

Really? I hear lungs get quite meaty when cooked. Pretty much the only way to get lungs here in murrica is to butcher the animal yourself.

Not the same kind. Jelly in like it's soft, a bit chewy, and melts in your mount . Closes thing I've eaten to lungs in texture was chanterelle mushrooms with sour cream (tough mudrooms aren't as meaty in taste).
