coal bread(aka hoe cakes or ash cakes) are pretty basic
its about a 1:2 ratio of liquid/flour (might need a bit more flour)
you can use plain water, soup, water with a bit of a bouillon cube mixed in, and you can add ham or herbs to make it less boring
you make them like you would normal pancakes
