get a used good one if you feel you will want a blender after a year. if not then get a ninja or some other cheap blender. they work great but die after a year..

used commercial equipment is loads better than the new stuff you buy for less than 100usd. If you know how to clean and service it, it's even better.

It does sound better when you mention commercial equipment. It's like it was regularly and professionally cleaned.

unfortunately no, if only you knew how often that stuff is maintained…. I'm saying replacement parts are readily available and it is EASY to clean but many restaurants won't do that lol

My food processor (picked up from Goodwill for less than $10) has served me well. Sure it's probably not as good as a $150 one but I doubt it's worth 15x the price to (eg) load 1/2 a head of cabbage instead of 1/4 and for the result to be a bit more minced a bit more quickly.

I made my own spaghetti and meat sauce, I used the abundant tomatoes growing in my garden instead of buying premade sauce, for some reason this made my throat unbearably itchy, I'm allergic to my own tomatoes. I should really stop pissing in my garden at night I think.

I just learned this today. Next time you're going to blend bananas, don't. Use plantains, with just enough vanilla extract so your blender does its job. Optional: psyllium husk (used 1/4 cup with 4 large plantains [just under 2 lb after peeling] and about 3/4 cup vanilla extract) and leave in the freezer for 20m so it thickens to the consistency of tapioca pudding.

I'm curious, why plantains instead of bananas? I think either plantains or bananas would be delicious if cooked then frozen and blended.

Get the refurbished Vitamix 5200, that's what I got. It's great, for half the monies.
