I have prayed and read my Bible and loved God, but I still succumbed to the temptations of the flesh. Today I came across these verses:

>Hebrews 6:4-6 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

If I spend the rest of my life living righteously and worshipping God in all that I do, is it still too late? For I commited sins knowing full well the doctrine and love of Jesus Christ. Can I still be saved?

Dude there is no hell. Even if God exists, the chance of it being the Christian God is 0%, and I think any reasonable person can see that.

<And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.”

OP, the answer is yes, it is far, far too late for you to be holy enough to stand before the holy God. That is why Jesus Christ came to this earth and suffered the death of crucifixion, because while all men deserve to be damned in hell, those who stop trying to flee their judgement and instead trust in Jesus to save them will be imputed His righteousness before God. Make no effort to satisfy God's law, rely only on Christ, and you will be saved.

Kind of. Jesus is God, but at this point the popular Christian god certainly does seem like something other than Biblical Jesus. Jesus has a lot more death to all who oppose me and a lot less diversity tolerance.

In the context of hebrew 6, which starts about progressing over the basics of the doctrine, if I have understood well, I think the meaning is:

It is impossible to Truly believe in christ, then to truly deny him, then to repent and believe in him again. Also a recall of the sin against the holy spirit that can't be pardoned in other part of the gospel.

Anyway it is irrelevant, IMHO you should worship God because THAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO, not because you fear judgment or that you screwed up forever.

A day, an attempt to imitate Jesus. At the end you let the supreme judge do his work. I personally not fear a supreme judge because if supreme justice must be to my advantage or disadvantage, so be it regardless.

Stop this train of thought before it even starts. Im sick and tired of the enemy using this verse to tempt Christians into thinking they've sinned away their salvation for all time. This verse tripped me up for almost a year, and I spent it in torment that I wish no one else to experience.

Let me make this point first.

God is a God of contract law. Look at the verse. There are FIVE clauses.

It is impossible for those, who:

1. Have been enlightened

2. Have tasted of the heavenly gift

3. Were made partakers of the Holy Ghost

4. Have tasted the good word of God

5. And the powers of the world to come

To be brought back to repentance.

DONT try and connect all five points to yourself in order to cripple you in faith. Dont say to yourself "Oh no thats me!" And end up oppressed in spirit.

Everyone has a MEASURE of faith. Everyone. God *can* and *does* pull the plug on the grace for those who rebel. What is grace? Grace is ability. You repent because of grace. You come to God because of grace. You can do nothing that is pleasing to God without God dispensed grace. Without ability. To those who are impossible to be renewed are those who are given over to a reprobate mind. What is a reprobate mind? It is a MIND which CANNOT receive GRACE– ABILITY! The ability to what? Come to God.

And this is the promise to ALL humankind. ALL. Not some, ALL:

John 6:37

All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.

Who comes to Jesus? All those the Father gives to Jesus. Are you coming to Jesus? The Father is giving you to Jesus. And if you CAN by decision of mind come to Jesus He will likewise NEVER TURN YOU AWAY.

Are you remorseful of your sins? A broken spirit? So much that you fear losing God? So did David. God calls that a contrite heart.

Psalms 51:17

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

What is despise? It is to turn away from. A broken spirit and a contrite heart is the sacrifices of God. One He will NOT TURN AWAY.

Read Psalms 103 and speak it over yourself. Read it thoroughly and believe.

OP. Jesus LOVES you. Do you have any clue what that means? He died for you. He bought you with a price. You are not so disposable that your sins cast you out.

Hebrews 13:5 says

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

You know how this reads in the Greek? It actually has FIVE negatives. It reads more like "I will NEVER NEVER NO NEVER leave you NOR forsake you."

Next, email me RIGHT NOW. I MEAN it. I will NOT let you suffer what I suffered.

I think this and faggotry and maybe even jewish ancestry convinces people they're hopeless and to sign their life off to evil. My dad and I have noticed there are lots of people EXPLICITLY siding with evil not just naively falling for its propaganda.

>If I spend the rest of my life living righteously and worshipping God in all that I do, is it still too late?

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added to you. Set the word of God first in your life, acknowledge Him in all your ways. If you do this, you will find the truth about what God has to say in his word, including in this passage in Hebrews.

We are not righteous enough to save ourselves, no matter what. The scripture says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

Paul wrote to the Galatians,

"But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe."

The question then comes down to whether you will admit that the perfect law of God has shown all, including yourself as having sinned. And whether you believe that Jesus our Savior has truly been able to save whoever believes in him just as he said. Do you place God's word on a higher authority than man's words? There are many false prophets who would lead you astray by appealing to tendencies that suggest you can still work to save yourself. All manmade religions teach this. People are tempted to go there rather than face the music that we have sinned and need a Savior. The Savior has already done what is needed to save, he is already at the right hand of the Father ready to give you life, and to those who admit that he/she cannot save themselves. Remember the parable of the pharisee and the tax collector. The pharisee prayed to himself thanking God that he was a better person than those such as the publican nearby. The publican simply prayed God be merciful to me a sinner. This is the right attitude to have always.

Christ warned again that many would come to him talking about how they had cast out devils, and done many wonderful works, but he will say to them that he never knew them. They were still trusting in the things they did. Just like the pharisee, they never accepted the rightful conviction of God from his word telling them that they could not save themselves. They thought they had it together already, when the situation was in reality far more tragically opposite. They just didn't listen to the word of God telling them this.

So the question really is, are you ready to accept the word of God like the crowd did in Acts chapter 2?

Acts 2:41

>Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

As it says later on in that passage, "the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." You will notice that these men and women "gladly received" the word preached to them. This is in contrast to the men in Hebrews 6:4-6. It says there those had "tasted" the good word of God. They tasted it but instead of receiving they rejected. That is a huge difference. Please be one that received God's word gladly.

I think there has partly been some problem with the divergence in the connotations of such terms over the ages. "Temptation" was originally supposed to imply a test or trial than seduction or enticement. Similar with "sacrifice" coming to imply a struggle toward an achievement or something to be ceded rather than simply a blood offering as it originally was. As views develop around such interpretations the intended focus of tenets are potentially skewed along with the way adherents interact with them.

What are you going to do other than force people to read the Bible in Latin? It seems like religious decay is inevitable unless you use a dead language.

That stuff doesn't matter because no one's going to bother with that when the surface level understanding heavily distorted by millennia of linguistic changes already reaffirms their preconceived notions despite being a false interpretation of the religion. Ignorance is bliss.

If you believe on Jesus Christ, you're saved eternally (John 3:16). You cannot lose your salvation. Nothing in those verses say that you can. Read verse 1. It's saying that if you fall away from faith toward God it is impossible to repent of dead works. You need to have faith toward God to serve Him properly.

Don't let other people control you, the only thing that matters is the truth of God. The only thing that matters is the truth of God which exists and we can receive it through his authentic word, if it be His will. Don't be relativist.
